Here Comes The Big Parade… No, Not That One (Hour 2)

June 11, 2025

Guest: Seth Taft

After some more conversation on whether or not Governor Evers should run again, Todd asks us What’s Worse: having a funeral or not having a funeral? We take some calls and texts with strange funeral stories.

At the bottom of the hour, we address the big parade happening this weekend– but wait, it’s not the one you’re thinking of. While the national news is talking about President Trump’s military parade in DC this weekend, we’re choosing to focus on something much closer to home. Downtown Manager of Downtown Baraboo, inc. Seth Taft joins us to talk about Baraboo’s Big Top Parade! This Saturday in downtown Baraboo, you can join the festivities and celebrate the surprisingly deep and artistic history of circuses.

Saturday In The Park

February 27, 2025

Guest: Seth Taft

In hour two (back on the air!) we begin with John's reaction to the live news that USAID employees are being kicked out of their offices. We listen to a clip from Alina Habba talking more about Trump's reduction (destruction) of the government, a violation of the separation of powers. To distract us, we chat about the weather with our WMDX Meteorologist Brittney Merlot, before jumping back into politics with callers. After the break, the guys are joined by Seth Taft, the Indiana Jones of Wisconsin! He's an archaeologist, and is also involved with the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks. They chat about how he's fighting to improve and fund the state parks, and also talk about his work in archaeology at the former Badger Ammunition Plant South of Baraboo. A jack of all trades, Seth also talks about the environmental advocacy work he's doing to protect the Boundary Waters in Minnesota from a proposed copper mine. Closing out the show, John and Gordy chat with Seth more on our state parks, from the most popular to the underrated.
