You’ve Got 13 Hours, Wisconsin (Hour 2)
It’s Election Day, a 13-hour period from 7:00am to 8:00pm where Wisconsin voters can make a big difference—one way or another. They can demonstrate that our state Supreme Court is not for sale to Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the world’s biggest corporations. And they can reaffirm their support for a strong public school system, one that shouldn’t be gutted by politicians who want to shovel our tax dollars into private schools for well-off families. But those things won’t happen if enough voters stay home, so Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez joins us to talk about the importance of making an appearance sometime during these 13 critical hours.

“Wisconsin Is Not For Sale” with LG Sara Rodriguez (Hour 2)
This afternoon, Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez joins us from the road in Green Bay to talk about the state of healthcare in Wisconsin. The UW-System is doing a lot for healthcare workers and retention, but our Republican-led legislature is lagging behind nearly the entire country when it comes to Medicare and Medicaid funding. We are one of two states that hasn’t expanded funding for postpartum Medicaid.
At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media Political Editor and Founder of The Recombobulation Area Dan Shafer joins us to expand on tomorrow’s election. Aside from the supreme court and state superintendent races, the ballot has a referendum to amend the Wisconsin constitution. This amendment would require voters to have a photo ID, which is already the law in Wisconsin. Todd walks through his unique personal involvement in Wisconsin voter ID bills, and Dan explains what the motivation for this referendum may be.

Expanding Our Circle with Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez (Hour 1)
Today, we are honored to welcome Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez back to the show! We speak with her about Wednesday’s State of the State address from Governor Evers. She shares more details on how the Governor plans to address mental health in Wisconsin and why it matters. In his speech, Governor Evers also touched on immigration and the ways that national “mass deportation” rhetoric affects us in our state. Todd and Lt. Gov. Rodriguez both have a personal connection to this issue.
At the bottom of the hour, three-time Big 10 champion Bradie Ewing is back for another discussion on sports and positive thinking. In remembering the late Bob Uecker, Todd and Bradie reflect on the incredible impact that good sports broadcasters have on both players and listeners. Many people don’t realize that as sports teams travel, the players, coaches and broadcasters become family.

Everybody Hates Robin Vos (Hour 1)
Maggie drills down on Donald Trump's anemic first week's "executive Memorandum" on the housing crisis, spurred by a text from a listener yesterday. Turns out it is nothing more than generic garbage that will absolutely NOT help bring housing costs down or increase housing supply. Rather, DJT's promise to "deregulate" the housing market [what or how exactly, no one knows] will actually make this MUCH MUCH worse. Not to mention the stupid tariffs.
Then Maggie introduces Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez to talk about Governor Evers' "State of the State" address yesterday. Sara and Maggie discuss the things virtually all Wisconsinites want: more public education funding, affordable child care, and common sense gun regulation.
Last, Maggie defines performative politics, which is not an indictment of "political theatre," but is (1) self-aggrandizing, headline grabbing nonsense that has no impact [ego-stroking]; and (2) the use of power or leverage simply because you can, as a naked flex and/or regardless of the negative impacts of your flex [ego and control]. And Robin Vos is ALL performative politics.

If you’re able to donate to help victims of the fires, Time Magazine has a list of reputable charities that can best put your donations to use.

We end today’s show with a clip from the Joe Rogan Experience. Actor Mel Gibson shared some stories about alleged cancer cures. However, the medications he lists are NOT approved or effective for treating cancer. We must be careful not to trap ourselves in information silos.
