Bloggers & Pantries (Hour 3)

September 26, 2024

Playing off the Appleton Oktoberfest and car show that's coming up this weekend, Maino asks listeners which old cars they wish they could own. Jim says, "A Bentley," and Todd says, "A Rambler"—another difference between the guys. Then, blogger and writer Sarah Conery joins the show to talk about her book "100 Things To Do In Green Bay Before You Die". (She's from the U.P. so, of course, there HAS to be conversation about that with Maino). It took her 3 months to write the book, but she says she's been working on the list for quite some time. Then our friend Ryan Rassmussen from the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry joins the program to talk about some of changes coming to the program, including opening up their service area to the entire state.

Maino and the Mayor is a part of the Civic Media radio network and airs Monday through Friday from 6-9 am on WGBW in Green Bay and on WISS in Appleton/Oshkosh. Security Luebke & Food Security (Hour 3)

May 7, 2024

Security Luebke Roofing owner Shannon Alberts gets behind the mic to talk to the guys about his business and why he thinks it's been successful. To sum it up quickly: his employees. "If you take care of your employees, they will always take care of your customers". Plus, Shannon and Maino go way back, and those stories are fun to share as well. Then Ryan Rasmussen from the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry is on to talk about the folks that the pantry serves. We were saddened to hear the 1 in 3 individuals in the Oshkosh area consider themselves food insecure. If you'd like more information on the OACP, click HERE.
