Special guest Dr. Nancy Carlsson-Paige walks us through Three-Cueing system: what it is, how it's helped millions of kids learn to read, and the real controversy based on a false premise surrounding teaching with it. The Three-Cueing system, which uses context, meaning, and sound to help learners make sense of language, is now illegal to use as a pedagogy in many states. So if it's illegal to teach using context, meaning, and sound, how the heck are students supposed to learn how to read?
