Recovery Month & Kayaking (Hour 3)

August 29, 2024

Lawrence Nikodem joins us to talk about an event coming up in Green Bay, at Bay Beach. "Celebrating Recovery, Hope & Support" is coming up at September 14th. The primary goal for this 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk is to support those in recovery and bring awareness to those affected by gambling disorders. You don't need to have a drinking problem to quit drinking. Then Sheri Omernick from Kayak Wisconsin and Matt Kriese from the Brown County Parks Department join the show to talk about...you guessed it, kayaking in Wisconsin! Kayak Self Serve Rentals are available at Duck Creek Quarry, Lily Lake, Wrightstown, and Little Chute!

Weekly Best of Maino and the Mayor for Jul 20

July 20, 2024

Jim and John welcome Tracy Flucke & Brown County Parks Director Matt Kriese to talk about the Fox River Trail. They talk about the history of the trail, a few of the rules when using the trail, and also how the trail is funded. Get more details about the trail HERE. Then we're happy to have Kim Theil who has been an entrepreneur for many years as a photographer in Green Bay and the Valley. Now, she and her daughters are opening a new donut shop in Kimberly. They just purchased the building and are in the process of doing demolition (Maino wants to show up with a sledgehammer to help). The hope is to be open this fall. We're lucky that Kim has agreed to take us along on the ride on this journey. Check out their Facebook page HERE.
