Stay Afloat: Life Jackets, Hydration, and Boating Safety (Hour 2)

May 16, 2025

Hydration takes center stage with Mark Husen with Emplify - Bellin Sports Medicine. Mark emphasizes the importance of drinking water well before engaging in physical activities. While discussing the evolution of healthy drinks, they humorously debunk myths about orange juice and praise chocolate milk’s post-workout benefits. Then John Craemer and Kevin Osgood, with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, join the chat, stressing life jacket safety amidst a backdrop of boating mishaps and outdated water safety beliefs. This coming week is Boater Safety Week, so this is a great time for safety reminders. As the hosts juggle coffee spills and giveaways, they remind listeners to stay safe and stay hydrated!

Challenge Coins & Apple Blossoms

March 25, 2025

Kevin Osgood and John Craemer from the USCG Auxiliary join the show to promote boating safety courses. It's that time of year again, and Kevin and John say that about 80% of people on the water have not taken a safety course. We're hoping to help change that. You can click HERE to see the upcoming dates for courses in Northeast Wisconsin. John and Kevin also presented Challenge Coins to Jim, John, and Todd. It was an amazing honor. Then another amazing friend stops by: Babs Smith. Her organization is planting another 50 apple blossom trees in with the Apple Blossom tree planting event at the Apple Creek Trail at Cherryvale Avenue in Appleton. It's coming up on Thursday, May 8th, at 10 am. Babs also released her latest book: Day Tripping Kayak Wisconsin Waters of Green Bay West Shore: Green Bay to Garden Peninsula Upper Michigan.

Boat Show & Local Art

February 12, 2025

John Craemer and John Osgood from the US Coast Guard Auxiliary swung by to talk about boater safety and promote the Green Bay Boat Show this weekend at the Resch Center. The show is a great winter break event, and the information that it offers to the community is outstanding. Then, local artist Spencer Nolan Young joins to talk about all the art he brings to the community. His business is Forever Young Designs, and if you check out the website, you'll see some of his wonderful work.

Trucker Thursday

January 23, 2025

It's Trucker Thursday, and besides enjoying some of the best trucker songs ever, the guys talk about Maino's plan to start working out at the KROC Center in Green Bay. He hasn't gone yet for several reasons, including gout, not having proper workout clothes, and it being so cold—more conversations this morning about The Mayor wanting to take his dog on a plane trip. Then John Craemer & Kevin Osgood join us from the USC Auxiliary. They talk about water safety this time of year and the upcoming All Canada Show being held at Oneida Casino. Also, a discussion occurs about whether Maino looks like Walter Mattheau in "Grumpy Old Men." What do you think?
