And we have another chat with Kate Ullman of the Wisconsin Civic Learning Coalition about the future of teaching civics in Wisconsin classrooms, when it’s more important than ever that the students of today learn the basics of how government functions before they become the voters of tomorrow.

It’s All About Civics (2nd Hour)
Kicking off the hour, Pat and producer Luke give a recap from all different corners of the sports world, from a new champion to homerun robbery and from hockey finishes to Olympic pools! Then Pat runs through the headlines after a former President came close to Milwaukee yesterday, but may not be staying there for the convention next month.
After that, it’s right there in the name of the Civic Media radio network! Protecting democracy requires a smart, active citizenry—and you can’t have that without students getting a strong civics education that helps them appreciate democracy and government service. We’ll talk to teacher Kate Ullman and Michael Blauw of the Wisconsin Civic Learning Coalition in this week’s Homeroom segment.
Wrapping up the hour, we check in with Todd Allbaugh who is on the road in Baraboo, WI with Earl Ingram for remote Juneteenth broadcasts for both of their shows!
