Joe Czarneski
“Dedicated To Others” The Life of Jimmy Carter (Hour 2)
On this, the day of President James Earl Carter's State Funeral, guest Joe Czarneski, a former Wisconsin Assemblyman, Wisconsin Senator, Milwaukee County Clerk, and Milwaukee County Board Supervisor, joins the show to pay tribute to the late President Jimmy Carter. (A link to Joe's memorialization for the Milwaukee County Democrats is below.) As a college student, Joe met Carter during his 1976 campaign, invited him to a party, and ended up being a lifelong supporter, meeting Carter and his wife many times through Joe's work with Habitat for Humanity. Joe shared his many very human experiences and cherished memories with the Carters -- including one involving a VERY small Chevy Vega.
Tom and Maggie, with caller input, spend the balance of the hour discussing Carter's more complicated presidential legacy, his indisputably extraordinary life's legacy, and the incredible juxtaposition between the incoming President and Carter.
