An Educated Educator goes on to more Education!
Pencil Busters, this episode is a little different. Today, we celebrate 10 incredible months of Producer Jess's time with BustED Pencils. Why? Because this educated educator is going on to more education! Over the past 10 months, I- that is Jess- have learned and grown so much. I planned and produced each episode of the show and wrote each of these podcasts. It's a bit surreal to write this last one. For today's show, Dr. Tim and Dr. Johnny interview me about my educational journey. From where I've been to where I'm going, I bring you in on my path to medicine. I don't know all of what the future holds, but I know for damn sure there's more education and more pencil busting it it! So this isn't goodbye, it's just see ya later. And now I get to say it to you all. Thank YOU for busting pencils with me!

A New Adventure Awaits!
Wisco, today we end one chapter so that another may begin. Producer Jess- hi, that's me writing this podcast as I've written them all for the past 10 months!- is moving on. No, nothing dramatic, it's just time for a new adventure in healthcare! So today, we reflect. From our first meetings to my first hunting trip, we've come a long way. Here at Civic Media we cherish the opportunities to bring together people with different worldviews. And that sure happened with Raised in Wisco. When I first met Joel and Danielle, I had no hunting experience. Now, after working with this team for so long and learning so much from them, Joel dubs me a certified hunter. Granted, I've yet to bag a bird or catch a fish, but I'm on my way. And I'm looking forward to hunting again this spring with my leftover turkey tag! You can still grab one, check availability here!
And so now, Wisco, I'm off. Off to a new adventure. But this isn't goodbye. Watch for me as a guest, because like Joel, Danielle, and Ellie, I am Raised in Wisco!
Born in Wisconsin and making their adventuresome lives here, Joel Kleefisch and Danielle Fairman are Raised in Wisco. Each week, we connect YOU to the incredible natural resources of our state. Whether you’re looking to find new ways to take food from field to table or for new outdoor hobbies, we’ve got you covered! Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Mar 8
Catch up on this week's best segments!
First, from Wednesday's second hour with Matt Rothschild. Our president delivered an address to a joint session of Congress. We have thoughts...
Next, we turn to Tuesday's second hour as Jess guest hosted with Harvey Kaye. The real conflict in this country has never been Democrat vs. Republican. It's oligarch "economic royalists" vs. the rest of us.
Then, from Thursday's second hour with Earl Ingram as cohost with Dom. As we discuss the devastating cuts to veterans' benefits and care, friend of the network LuAnn Bird calls to share her and her husband's story. Then, should Rep. Al Green have been censured for his simple defiance during the 47th POTUS' address to Congress? Probably not. So we listen to his powerful remarks.
And of course, we finish with something good. This also comes from Wednesday's second hour, as Matt shares a gorgeous poem.
Truth in a Time of Lies (Hour 1)
Jess P-S and Harvey Kaye, Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice Studies at UWGB, and our favorite Delano Democrat co-host the show today! For this hour, we talk truth. Truth matters, all the more so when we have a president who appears physiologically incapable of speaking it. With this opinion article as an anchor, we discuss what it means to value truth.

Producers and Dungeons and Dragons, hell yeah! (Hour 2)
Jess P-S, Dom's producer, takes the wheel today, with Aaron Zommers, Civic Media Senior Producer as cohost.
In this hour, in addition to continuing to share a bit of the behind the scenes of radio production, Jess and Aaron discuss one of their favorite things: dungeons. And also dragons. D&D is an incredible game system for interactive storytelling, with its origin in our very own Wisconsin! For this year's Small Business Saturday, we recommend checking out your local small game stores! Wisconsin has a plethora of local stores that sell everything you need to get started with tabletop gaming AND these same stores often host gaming events!
One of my (Jess's) favorite things to do for each episode is pick the music. So for this episode, each bumper is one of my top picks, listed in order they played on the show:
In This Moment- "From the Ashes"
Rise Against- "Audience of One"
Caligula's Horse- "Turntail"
Spiritbox- "Blessed Be"
