LIVE at Volk Field: We’re Back For Northern Lightning! (Hour 1)
For the second year in a row, Todd broadcasts live from Volk Field for Northern Lightning! This time, he’s only 100 yards away from the runway. We are grateful to welcome Wisconsin National Guard Interim Adjutant General David May back to the program to share stories from “summer camp for fighter pilots.” He brings with him CMSgt Chad Workman, the State Command Chief, to talk about his job and involvement in Northern Lightning.
At the bottom of the hour, Todd is joined by Lieutenant Colonel Michael “Germ” Koob, one of the best F-35 pilots around. Lt Col Koob doesn’t let it get to his head, though. He’s a humble man from a small town who wants everyone to know that if he can succeed in the military, they can too.

Northern Lightning With Brigadier General David May (Hour 2)
Continuing coverage on the ground at Volk Field, Todd asks Brigadier General David May and Chief Master Sergeant Chad Workman about what’s happening in the military today. Topics include the “summer camp for pilots” called Northern Lightning and Tommy Tuberville’s continued obstruction of military promotions.
After that, we are joined by the Volk Field Director of Operations, Major Tyler Shaver! He also shares what it’s like to be an F-35 pilot. Senior Master Sergeant Reid Scott and First Sergeant Jaqueline Franck then tell tales of camaraderie between military branches.
LIVE From Volk Field! (Hour 1)
For most of the first hour of the show, we took President Biden’s remarks from Milwaukee. Afterward, Todd comes to us live from Volk Field for Northern Lightning, a week-long Air National Guard training program. Brigadier General David May returns to the program with Chief Master Sergeant Chad Workman to tell us all about it!
