Beverly Pestel is a retired chemistry professor who returned to her home state of Wisconsin to restore an old farmhouse and become a tree farmer in Richland County. After the 2016 election, she realized that standing on the sidelines politically was a mistake and began researching social and political issues. In 2022, she began writing columns for the small independent newspaper, Valley Sentinel, out of Spring Green.
She’s a member of Economic Equity Now, a nonpartisan group working towards a fairer tax code.

The Patriotic Millionaires are a national group of wealthy individuals who don’t feel that they’re being taxed enough. They’ve been giving seminars in Richland Center about how we as citizens can help to improve things for the average working family.
