Discussing Domestic Abuse & Hygiene Habits

Your hostess with the mostess, Brandi Grayson, is once again joined in the WMDX Studio by April Kigeya and a surprise zoom from cousin Clyde while he's in Italy (just kidding he is just in an extra camera frame today). The three begin the hour with a discussion of Love once again, and the conversation then shifts to domestic violence and the effects it has on Love. Then, Brandi, April and Clyde discuss a new political ad by the Trump campaign targeting Black women. Brandi shares her thoughts on why Trump is making ads like this now, he's grasping. Then, a retrending topic on social media has the three reeling on what hygiene habits white people have, asking producer Luke his bathing habits.

The show wraps for the week with Brandi, April and Clyde sharing local news updates with their organizations. Kicking off the hour, Brandi recaps her week in Las Vegas visiting her mother and her partner. With cousin Clyde once again MIA, April Kigeya joins Brandi for the hour as co-host. Brandi and April have some fun right from the top with a TikTok remix of First Lady Michelle Obama's comments of the presidency being a Black job. The two discuss Love and share the exciting aspects they saw from this past week's Democratic National Convention.

Then, Brandi shares some of the details for Urban Triage's upcoming Third Annual Harvest Festival coming up on September 7th. Then April talks about what is at stake for the Dane County Executive race on the ballot this November and why she is supporting Dana Pellebon and why you should too.

After that, Brandi and April discuss the situation surrounding Jordan Chiles and her Bronze Olympic Medal. Then, the two get into the dynamics between emotional and household roles. The show wraps up with Brandi sharing a bit from behind the curtain on difficulties on fundraising as a nonprofit in Madison, WI.

Women’s History Month

Plus, right as Black History Month comes to an end, Brandi tackles the latest example of anti-Blackness happening right here in the Madison community. Finally, the race for County Executive is on, and Brandi says that while the coverage has been one-sided, there is one candidate above the rest.

Free Day Saturday

Brandi and Keena are joined by Dane County Supervisor April Kigeya for a free day Saturday, covering anything and everything.

It's Black History Month, and this year, they get an extra day! But still, in the Madison news sphere, Black people are overwhelmingly shown in a negative light, as criminals. Why don't they ever show the positive thing happening in the Black community, there's no shortage in Madison of positive Black news.

Then, there was a tragedy in Middleton last weekend, leaving two young children dead. Brandi, Keena, and April break down the emotional strain that everyone is feeling both here in Madison and across the country.
