across the way behind the glass, Mr. Ian Welsh.
Ian, good morning.
Good morning, Chad.
We're going to talk a lot more about what we were talking about, but let's, for the next few minutes, kind of loosen it up for a few moments because coming up after the break, we will have our interview with Sean Wright, and then we'll come back and really delve into some of the ideas concerning, I think, the...
the news that is right out the forefront of what is happening in this country right now.
Which is very important to talk about.
And I definitely hope that folks will join us at 715-814-933-0.
That's 715-814-933-0.
We want to hear your voices.
But I know that tonight is a big night for you.
Yes it is.
Tonight is the first official night of the auditions for...
Wassa Community Theater's Spring Musical, the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The sign-up sheet has been filling up fast and as of right now there are 32 people already signed up for auditions and auditions are at tonight from oh at 6.30 and there's also a
Two sets of auditions on Saturday.
The first session is at one o'clock and the other one is at three o'clock.
It's gonna be a lot of competition, especially in this show, because it's only a cast of nine people.
So
it will
definitely be a lot of talent and be, have a competitive, but through it all, I think the most important thing about auditions is just to have fun.
Absolutely.
And actually, I don't know if you may recall this, because when you said that, I thought, man, I remember that show being here in Central Wisconsin at one point in the past.
And I actually looked it up in that UWMC back in 2018.
So it's been eight years.
They actually put it on Sarah Rudolph, director, of course, for many years at UWMC.
And they put on the show back in...
November of 2018, so eight years is quite a long time.
It's a
full circle moment.
There you go.
So I think anything that Sarah and the UWMC put on is obviously a great choice because she put on really, really good shows.
I miss when it was UW Marathon County, they had a real theater department and were putting on shows.
Yeah, they put on a lot of great...
The shows.
But best of luck to you in terms of getting that.
Thank you very much.
I mean, as you said, it looks like it's going to be a lot of competition.
But it's also wonderful to see that there is so much interest in trying out and for folks to be.
Yeah, so many talented people.
And of course, we see all the time the shows that are going on.
And of course, coming up, is it this weekend, right?
It's this weekend that the.
This weekend is River and Woods.
Theaters a calendar girls.
Yep.
So
seven at the
wasa east high school this weekend We had a chance to talk about that earlier.
In fact, we had you know big opportunities to talk about that and
It's really been cool hearing from folks that are involved in these productions.
So again, make sure that it actually starts tonight at Wausau East.
So if you're seven o'clock tonight, seven o'clock tomorrow and seven o'clock on Saturday, if you want to get away from it for just a couple of hours and see some very talented performers.
And it sounds like it's a really fun show, a lot of a lot of laughs, a lot of tears and just a smorgasbord of emotion going on with River and Woods and
calendar girls and we know a few of the people that are involved in the show and they're very, very talented.
And I think you're going to more than get your money's worth if you get an opportunity to go over there.
Absolutely.
A theater is a great way.
just escape just for a few hours
coming up in just a little bit we're gonna go back and there's so much more to talk about when it comes to where we stand right now with what this administration and what this country is going through but coming up next we're going to find out what's going on again here in downtown wasa with the grant theater have our every other week visit with Sean Wright the executive director of the grand coming up next so stick around glad you could be with us here on this Thursday morning chilly
start, but at least it's not windy today.
It feels a lot better than it did yesterday.
Nine degrees is the temperature here at the corner of Washington Street and North Third Street in downtown Wasaw.
Chad Homeshope 98.9 WXCO.
We know who's been talking to Jesus
that time again
Jesus has been telling him he's right Mr. Faith on Friday down the street over at WSA you radio Who's been cheerleading for the fascist ever since Renee Good's murder last week and Frankly, it's disgusting.
I am Chad Holmes Host of the mr. Connelly
Once said on the airwaves the must much lower Rated and listen to Chad home show here on 98.9 WXCO online at WXCO FM mobile devices and Alexa by searching WXCO and on the civic media app I'm sure he's getting ready for his next faith on Friday column, but I Been been disturbed by the cheerleading for ice that is coming from down the street in fact
I have been torn about even talking about it because at times it's not probably the the the right thing to do I don't know but I think that for the past two decades we've had a situation where We've had one point of view pushed to the people of this community And it's been a far-right point of view that continues to be pushed forward that somehow the folks that are protesting ice are the true
bad people in this situation and the ice folks are the good guys and I disagree with that.
And Ian, do we have a call?
Yeah, we have a phone call from Nancy Stencil who wants to weigh in on our conversation.
All right, Nancy.
Go ahead, Nancy.
You're on the air.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Oh my gosh.
I, you know, ever since I heard about that on SAU radio, it's I am so angry.
The left never went in.
Did any kind of hate type stuff when Charlie Kirk passed?
I mean, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.
But this, that station is just feeding the anger that's already out there, the misinformation that's already out there.
And what's happening in Minneapolis is what a tragedy, you know, with some more shooting last night.
And I just...
When will people see what's really happening and how these democratic states are being
attacked?
I In the thing about it and one reason I want to delve into it because at the same time I don't want to publicize a person I think is just wrong on every Front
yeah,
but at the same time They do have a listenership in this community and they do have people and like you said the misinformation
that it comes from the folks in the government.
I mean, yesterday, and I think you may have heard this, there was a report that the ICE agent that shot Renee Good had suffered internal bleeding.
Why should we believe anything that comes from these people?
Right.
I mean, and then you have the folks that are basically paid to push forward the lies.
And if we don't
push back against these lies, a lot of people who may not follow it as closely as we do are going to believe
it.
true and and then they're being said more from that side and it's just creating more havoc and that's what they like to do.
They like to feed that.
And frankly I think one of the you can call it the genius of mega-ism and Donald Trump is the fact that they have no conscience about telling a lie over and over and over again.
And it is yeah, and it is the whole idea of advertising if you have a message that's put out there over and over again people are gonna Fall for it.
It doesn't matter if it's true.
Just keep saying it over and over again so that you know that people believe it and And it's this kind of hatred that this country does not need
Exactly and but that is
the whole point of it.
That's, I mean, that's the thing that is just so disturbing.
Instead of having a battle of ideas and saying, hey, this is how government can be used to make people's lives better, or they can, and they can make the argument that, hey, this is how private sector can be used to make lives better, whatever it may be.
Instead, we are just constantly having to fight lies.
You can't have a, you can't, the whole system cracks under
The weight of lie after lie after lie and that's again one of the frustrating aspects as well.
Hey, yeah, I agree.
It's just It's almost like you feel you begin to feel like you're spinning your wheels like I don't know what to do I'm trying to squelch this line and then it's like trying to fight a fire.
Yeah,
you know, it just it keeps creeping up somewhere else and it's like You know, I think so many of us out there feel like What can we do?
You know, you feel
You're rendered helpless, almost.
You know, it's that feeling.
Yeah.
Well, Nancy, we're coming up on the top of the hour here.
So I got a, but thanks for calling any time.
