Wausau Morning Report with Chad Holmes: Friday, September 5

WXCO News · Fri Sep 5, 2025

And welcome back.

It is the WXCO morning report on 98.9 WXCO online at wxco.fm

mobile devices and Alexa by searching WXEO and on the Civic Media app into the month of September.

Start of a new month and it's always the first week of the month and I gotta say, I always enjoy when she comes in because no matter what else is going on, it does bring a ray of sunshine here.

It really does.

I tell you, I mean, even when I'm kicking myself for what I'm doing wrong and you come in here and make me feel

It's always so much fun to talk to Christine Daniels, executive director, head honcho of the Good News Project.

That was the nicest.

introduction.

Well, thank you.

But you talk about rubbing off on me.

You talk about the way that you run your office and the way that you also support each other and make it a place where people want to come in.

Ian, do I make this place where do you feel like I make you feel like you want to come in here or do I?

Yes, absolutely.

Good, good.

That's what I like to hear.

I put them on the spot.

That's a

dangerous

thing to do on

the

spot.

I would say, have you say, well, tell me you've brought up the subject.

No.

Absolutely not.

Fantastic.

But Christine, I know we talk about, I mean, really, I think interesting stuff.

And I am ready to learn myself here today.

And not that I don't learn in all the other subjects that we talk about, but strategic planning.

And I was saying to you that I am not the best person when it comes to forward planning on, from a day to day, week to week, month to month basis.

And you were saying that until you got this job, where you basically have to be able to look ahead that you weren't

that great at it as well.

Right.

Right.

Yeah.

So, you know, I've been with good news for 25 years and we will be.

beginning our third strategic planning session.

So basically about every five years.

And it's really taught me so much about just planning for business, planning for change, dreaming a little bit, you know, visioning what you see your business and your world looking like in four to five years.

It's just, I find it invigorating.

of a process.

So, yeah, I'm ready to talk a little bit more about it.

And also, something that we've talked about in the time that you've been joining us is that you have been actually bearing fruit because of this, because you had, you know, long-range projects where you had to, for a very long time, have the planning in order to have the money come in and also everything that goes along with it on the outside, without.

this planning, you cannot have done it, correct?

That's very true.

So, you know, the first time we did it, I have to admit, the people who help you facilitate this, you know, they warn about putting this on the shelf and letting it collect dust afterwards.

And I have to say, our first strategic plan did did a lot of collecting dust.

The second one we went through, you know, we rebranded

you know, we kind of redid our logos, we revamped our mission statement a little bit, we added vision, we added values, and we had the people in place to

really make it work.

So you have to have action steps that come out of this.

You might have a retreat for a day or two days, and you bring key stakeholders into this conversation.

So about

15 people.

It's not everyone in your organization.

You pick a couple key staff, a couple board members, and then you look for other people who...

interact with your organization, like volunteers, or donors, or clients, and you try to get as many perspectives as

possible.

I was gonna say, it's all about different angles, isn't it?

It is.

Because you see things from your position that maybe other people see things differently, that you don't see.

It doesn't, that's out there.

I mean, it's nothing that you're doing wrong, or anybody else is doing wrong, but there's just different angles that sometimes will miss it.

And boy, having the different viewpoints.

But also, I think what you're saying as well is, again, you can correct me if I'm wrong, that it's good to have not too many as well.

I mean, you can get bogged down where if you have everybody in the organization coming in and trying to put together this plan, then nothing never gets done either.

It's about having the right people involved.

So the gal that we work with, she

gives us a hard line of 15 people.

So you really have to put thought into who those 15 people are going to be.

You know, sometimes, we were just looking at these lists and these names last week to build our next group of strategic planners, which will happen later in the fall.

but we don't necessarily want to overlap people who had participated before, but you want someone who has historical perspective that can still bring that vision of where did we come from, where are we going sort of thing versus people who maybe just jumped on your board a year ago who don't have that historical perspective.

So you get both of those things to kind of even it all out.

I do think that historical perspective within business as well because

If you're just somebody who's here for the last two years, they may have an idea.

And if nobody remembers, hey, we tried that eight years ago, you may try it again, and it didn't work.

Yeah,

for sure.

You know, when it reminds me of something that's not related to strategic planning necessarily, but when I first

moved to

town, when I first moved to town 25 years ago to take the job with Good News Project, I came on as an administrative assistant.

And Chuck McCarthy, who is a co-founder of the organization, he just took me around town to introduce me to different people he thought I should meet.

And one of the people that, I don't want to use names, I just

don't want to embarrass anybody.

Although it wouldn't be embarrassing to her.

I was telling her all these ideas I had.

And

I'm coming in as a 24 year old something with a lot of big ideas

and idealism.

I'm

like, I'm going to change this, I'm going to change this.

And she kind of, she looked me in the eye and she said, just wait.

Just...

be here for a while to see what's going

on.

Learn.

Learn.

And I really took that to heart.

And now, 25 years later, I see how important that really was to not jump in and make all these strange changes because you don't have that historical perspective.

We will have more with Christine Daniels, the executive director of The Good News Project coming up in about 22 minutes or so.

We'll be back with Christine at about 7.

22 am this morning.

So coming up top of the hour information update and then more of mornings with pack right low here on 98.9

WXCO.

And welcome back.

It is the WXCO morning report, part of mornings with Pat Critello here on 98.9 WXCO.

I am Chad Holmes, along with Ian Welsh, and we are continuing our monthly conversation as we get a visit from Christine Daniels, who is the Executive Director of the Good News Project.

You've said that you're in the process of your next strategic plan and the last one.

And I'm going to use your words as you sent to me that you'd rocked our last plan and accomplished all the goals we get set out to accomplish.

So we're coming from a successful place.

Yes.

My first thought is, did that mean that you didn't go far enough?

Ooh.

No, you know what?

So

it's a good question

though.

We did.

We worked hard.

We worked hard.

It wasn't easy to get there.

It wasn't easy.

And it took a lot of perseverance and dipping back into the plan to be like, are we making these day to day decisions in light of this plan that we created?

Originally, we were going to do our strategic plan at the beginning of 2020.

You know, so back in 2019, we were starting to plan and we're like, okay, we're going to do that in the spring.

in May.

And of course, that did not happen.

And the board's like, we're whirling from what's going on.

This is not the time.

But we dug in at the end of 2020 to do it, because then it was the time it's like, okay, this is the most unusual time of our lives as an organization.

And in the world, now is the time we have to vision what this next four to five years looks like.

And so we did.

And it had to do with our capital campaign.

It had to do with our going to remote

places with our medical equipment.

It had to do with increasing partnerships in the community and really reaching out and networking.

It had to do with engaging more youth into the program and education.

And I mean, we have every single week, we have high schoolers coming in doing one thing or another for our program.

So we did a great job.

And it was also, you know, diversifying our board and establishing more processes for onboarding.

We did all.

that

when you look now at the next strategic plan is it easy to say well we did everything right the last time so we're just gonna do the same things or do you try to make sure that the mind is open to any things that you can do to even improve it

yeah it's gotta be a more open-minded thing because we have accomplished those things we can't do them again

Because they're done, right?

So, um, you know, the big question is how will we best fulfill our mission in the next four to five years?

And so with everyone focused on that question, we have to start by doing an internal SWOT analysis, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to our organization, our programming.

So as a staff, we're going to do that.

But we also have to do a survey.

And like I said, those stakeholders earlier, really trying to understand what is it.

that they get out of donating to good news or volunteering for good news.

What is it that keeps them coming back and really understanding that perspective?

How many times is there something that, and I imagine it happens very often, that pops in that was not anything that was on the mind when you go through this process?

Every single time.

Every single time something comes up and it's like, whoa.

But the

ability to have that flexibility has to be vital.

It is.

Within any organism.

You know, that's the beauty of gathering in a group of people, too.

You're not going to get that any other way.

If you're not asking for feedback or you're not doing that creative process that kind of bubbles up, starts new ideas.

And that's where those real weird outside of the box things come from.

We're like, oh, that's a good one.

Hey, we could do that.

And then it's creating that action plan to get us from right now, which we're not doing it to in four years.

Hey, we're going to be just successful.

What's a mistake that you've learned over the years while doing it?

in this process for folks maybe who are thinking about maybe improving their own action plans here.

Is there something that you'll learn that, hey, boy, I'm glad I learned this, but this

really kind

of got us off on the wrong track?

Or

not?

I guess the biggest thing is ignoring it and just doing business as usual.

Oh, that's me.

That's the biggest mistake, Chad.

Just ignoring that it exists.

doing a lot better of just being like this is part of this is part of our daily life and so going back to it and making sure that it's on our monthly board agenda so that everyone knows where we're at and then you know the accountability of the board at that point.

can help push things forward too.

Like, oh, this should have been done by, you know, this date.

We got to put some time into this.

One

of the things that I find interesting in my discussions here, and I've talked to other people where EGLE has been a problem within an organization, they've told me that, oh, I'm part of this board and this other person is so difficult to work with, wants to go in this direction, I don't think that's the right way to go.

Lack of ego and I think talking to you it seems as though you what's the old saying that if you if nobody cares who gets credit boy So much easier to get things done

or something along those lines But I

mean it sounds as though during this process boy for the 15 people that you have around the table You can't have an ego.

Can

you know you really can't and that's part of how the selection process

you know, takes place.

So you get to know, you know, the people in your midst and you're like, this person might have good ideas, but this person might just bulldoze everybody else.

You know, so that would not be a good person for the strategic planning group then.

Let me ask you real fast because something you said to me before we started that, you know, in addition to, you know, whether it's a

non-profits or a profit organization, you said, well, this is something probably you could talk about within government as well.

And as you deal with government entities a lot, maybe in your experiences, how do you think government could better use something like this?

Well, so I was just thinking, because strategic planning is on the brain right now for my business, like how amazing would it be if someone, an administration, newly elected?

could be either party it could be anyone but like that it was actually written into a job description of once you take office you're going to go through you know

I don't know, maybe a two-month strategic planning process so that you really can see from point A to point D what the steps are to get to what the goals are.

And if you have enough people around the table, and like you said, you can't have the bulldozers, you have to have the open-minded people who want to be part of just making this a better way to serve.

The people the American people, you know, and it's it's kind of similar because you know nonprofits are have to be accountable to donor dollars, right people are donating to us and they

You know, we are accountable for how we use that money and there's audits.

There's everything One mistake

one mistake could be the end.

Yeah.

Yeah, exactly And there's all you know, there's this oversight and I really do believe it's good oversight Because it keeps everyone honest

Christine Daniels of the Good News Project catch the entire interview at youtube.com and the WXCO channel more to come here on WXCO

and

good

morning once again everyone.

The time is 7.53.

It is the WXCO morning report.

Part of mornings with packed bright low on 98.9 WXCO.

Online at wxco.fm mobile devices and Alexa by searching WXCO and the Civic Media app.

Very fall like start here this morning.

Overcast guys, breezy conditions.

45 degrees is the temperature, wind chill factor of 38.

Time to get ready for the weekend, talk some Wisconsin sports says.

We are joined by Newman Catholic High School head football coach, Paul McLean, and coach,

good to see ya.

Good to see ya?

I got to see how this all operates around this place.

Basically, hold on for dear life and hope it gets up into, it's one of those shaky airplanes.

Yeah, hold on.

Hopefully, when you land, you don't go into 45 different pieces.

Yeah, is this like anything in life?

Yeah,

right?

I know it, I know it, but, hey, first weekend for the Green Bay Packers, big,

big game.

Big,

big game, Sunday afternoon at Lambeau, taking on the Detroit Lions.

How excited, I know, because we talk all the time and you look at, is it get towards fall and then into winters, but during the fall you obviously are busy.

You have your Newman Cardinal football team to work with, but then once you complete another championship season, then you start focusing on the Green Bay Packers.

And you always say, when the Packers are good, it makes the winter a lot shorter.

It does.

And it's just like the Bucks and the Badgers and basketball and Marquette, and it makes it...

If we can get them to February here again, it cuts down on the winter months and this game will tell a lot.

I know it's the first game, but it's just like last night's game where if Dallas would have came and got the W, that would have been a huge win for them.

early in the season, because they like to say all the time that those division games count as two almost.

And that's what this is, and especially if it's at home.

So this is a big game for Green Bay to get off on the right foot.

I don't want to say it's a must win, but I... You know.

You much rather have it than not have it.

That's for sure.

Well, I mean, it'd be a

little different if this is on the road.

Right, right, right.

You don't want to have to go into Detroit in order to earn a split because with a division that looks to be, I think these, all these teams feel like, I think even Chicago is optimism, they're going to be able to make something happen here this year.

But I mean, the big three of the Packers and Lions and the Vikings, I think they all feel like they have a pretty good shot at winning that division.

And you never know, it could be a tiebreaker.

Well, you can't go one in five.

Right, right.

And that's it.

I mean, you don't want to give it away where you have to be a game ahead of all these teams.

You would love to be able to have a tie and be able to win the division and go from there.

Are you optimistic for the Packers going into 2025?

You

know, it's like anything that's

Doesn't matter if it's college or high school or the pros until you kind of see the product on field.

You can say that we saw them in preseason, but did we really see them in preseason?

We never do.

So you don't really know.

You don't have a feel of exactly where they're at.

And are they going to come out with a few hiccups here and there?

And I'm sure they will.

But it's a problem.

You gotta come out here and show what they are and see how healthy they are.

The guys have been in and out of practice this week.

Some key guys.

And so let's see what actually on game day comes up.

I do think that Green Bay, they're soft with injuries.

They're not soft.

Safe would be the better word.

I'm interested to see is I don't think they're going to be, I think they're gonna push the envelope.

this weekend and they're gonna try to get all those guys on because they know this game is very important.

Then they can miss next Thursday's

games.

Quick turnaround too.

And

maybe they're just getting them right for next Thursday.

Who do we

know?

By the time we talk again, there'll be two games into the season, which is pretty amazing in itself when you think about it.

Jordan loved because last year he had the injury issues early and then he came out slowly.

He's had an injury issue in the preseason.

any fear he'll come out slowly on Sunday?

No, I think he's got enough rep time and play time.

That was a little different.

Last year was lower and this one is upper obviously with his thumb.

So I think it's a little different that he's been able to still do the, now you can say that the throwing has might have been a little different or whatever the case might be.

I think it's different because he was able to do the timing kind of things, the footwork and all that kind of stuff that makes a quarterback important and valuable.

So I think he was doing that stuff.

Will he come out maybe not as sharp just because he's not going to be as sharp?

That could be a possibility.

I don't think it's going to be because of the injury.

And Detroit, I'm curious to see how they do this here.

If they're able to maintain what they did in the regular season.

could be I don't know I think that that lost to Washington in the playoffs was a nasty loss that really was takes away from what was an amazing season and then the first playoffs game you lay a big egg you lose both coordinators I'm curious if there's gonna be any

Slow started there that because there is change and I do think that sometimes for a team that Had a great year that there could be a bit of a hangover from a loss like they had to finish off the season

I would agree to to a point I think it's more of the the coordinators being gone and I don't think They should jump anybody should jump to conclusions after one game one way or the other Think about this these guys are doing this full-time

from last year from that game when they lost those coordinators until now.

To try to put it together.

So let's see what kind of changes we have and if there are any and if they're good or not coming out.

I don't think we should put too much stock into it.

I will say I think as the year goes on having two new guys it'll

be interesting.

I said about the high school game you don't win the championships in August.

He tried to set a foundation.

I think for the NFL, you don't win a championship in September, but much nicer to build a foundation.

Well, you put yourself in a situation, don't you?

You're in a spot, right?

You want to put yourself in a good spot.

Doesn't take long with a 17-game season to be in a spot.

Yeah, you're 0-2.

You start off 0-2 in Sunday, so you're in a spot.

We'll have more with Paul Mickley coming up in 22 minutes here on WXCO.

and something that we'll always have to remember and to all those kids I'll have a moment to remember and the sun going down at halftime with the orange clouds in the back.

It's one of those things where you just want to take a picture and you put it in your head and you'll always have it there and that's what life is all about is those moments.

Your guys obviously were

Juiced up they came out really intense and it did not affect their game in a negative way at all It actually was looking a positive way because not only were they into that game from Warm-ups right to the very end came out executed well both on offense and defense They really did come out and play a good football game didn't they?

Yeah, they executed I guess you know when we first watched it right after the game

You don't get to appreciate it as much and then I kept on Watching on Saturday again, and then and then watch it on Monday

after we did our stuff on Sunday, and you appreciate the fine lines of being successful and not being successful at any level, and at this level, we executed, the kids executed, they did exactly what needed to be done, and that is what makes it a special, when things like that, that doesn't always happen, it's very difficult to do that.

both offensively and defensively, special teams, things are, you know, you work on it, you work on it, you want to make sure you emphasize certain things, but for them to do it, you can't, we have to play good football to be successful.

That's the bottom line to this situation, and there's a fine line from being

a team that's two and six to a team that's being six and two and the people People again have don't understand that one little change here one little change there While Rose as much towns we do

It's a very balanced football team watching it.

I thought you had three different kids who had four catches each.

You have Quincy being a solid quarterback.

You have Tristan being a guy that you can count on to run the football.

You have, as you talked about already, some new linemen who have really

Bought in and really have stepped up big time.

It seems like it's in the past you've had some I would call real stud players that can carry a team for quite a while This is a group that seems to as you said thrive on execution, but also balance.

Yeah, but I think that's our the sum is is greater than yeah, that's parts you know and and I I Not that I'm saying that they're not they're all talented in their own way and they all have

but right now most of those guys are probably in the correct spots and that's a key to be in the right spots to be successful.

If we moved in those other pieces, I don't know if they're successful at that spot or if they're not as good and things like that.

So right now they're in the correct spots and they're in the correct situation to have success and then right now they're having success.

And that could turn on a dime and we have to make sure we're doing that, but this is a good group.

This is a real good group and the energy they showed on the sidelines and with the younger kids and rooting for each other and their tight fit group and that is, it's fun to be

around.

Kids on the other side that's been so impressive.

I thought defensively is Damian Pence watching him play linebacker and there's his There's a I think a certain image a lot of folks have when it comes to linebacker play a guy that's You know moving around and able to feel just have that feel for where to go to hit the hit the hole to get to the Ball carrier at the quarterback and watching him on tape boy He's really looks like he's very comfortable in that linebacker position making a lot of plays

Yeah, he's really proud of him of how far he's come from when he was a freshman.

I mean, he always had talent.

And now he's really executing it and becoming that guy that he's playing on the other side of the field and looking to shoot those gaps and not getting blocked, keeping those hands off him.

And that's the key thing as a midlinebacker is to flow and play downhill.

and make sure that those guys get their hands on you.

And he's doing a great job of that.

And tackling has been phenomenal.

Hasn't missed many tackles, if any, so far.

And I think he missed one the first week.

But he's playing naturally.

And when you start playing that position naturally, it makes things a lot easier.

Almond Bancroft and on Wednesday when Quincy was on the show he talked about as some of our rivalry and I was surprised actually to hear Almond I mean it was like I was thinking oh just a marathon or something with the basketball athletes at Almond Bancroft and I guess that's the case when last couple of years they've been an incredibly difficult opponent and going down there tonight is I'm not gonna say that word it's a very tough matchup Almond Bancroft it's turned into this

little edge to these games, isn't there?

No, it's just another game.

I, you know, one of those things that it was that that Quincy said, if we were playing

Somebody else he would have said something else.

I that's I There's it's another game and we respect their program and and their players and what they do and It's just another game on the schedule.

It's game number three Game number four, and there will be next week.

It's Niagara and last week was game number two against Wild Rose and you know, it's just Another good opponent on our on our schedule that Looking for

trying to get a conference title again, which are very difficult.

You can't get number two if you don't get number one.

And so we're ready to play the game.

What have you seen looking at Almond Bancroft this year?

You said it, you go for conference championships.

They, along with you and Porto, all shared the league last year.

What has jumped out about Almond Bancroft near preparation this week?

You know, they have...

a very talented quarterback, a very big quarterback, and they have a couple good weapons that played a lot of football for him.

And so we're gonna have issues with the Styles kid at quarterback, and then they have his brother who's kind of a lineman, and...

full back and kind of wherever the ball goes, he goes kind of thing because he's a tremendous blocker.

And so they have, they're gonna come and pound us.

And the reality of it is that we're probably one of, and I know Quincy said that the other night, size-wise, you know, we're not the biggest team.

And so is this the best matchup for us?

I don't know.

I guess we'll find out and see.

But we're just ready to play the game.

Best of luck.

Thanks, John.

Okay, all good.

Okay, very good

And welcome back.

It is WXCO morning report on 98.9 WXCO online at WXCO dot FM mobile devices and Alexa by searching WXCO and on the civic media app.

Dog on it.

I still got to dig out a number for the day here for Ian in the next few minutes.

So while you're talking, I'm going to be thinking about that.

But speaking of which,

I don't think you really pay attention anyway.

So it should be just like normal.

That's probably exactly right.

We talked about the Packers, Badgers back in action tomorrow at Camp Randall Stadium.

How about that?

A Saturday afternoon Badger game.

It's

like the good old days.

What

time is that even?

What time is the Badgers playing next tomorrow?

That's a good question.

I should know this as co-host of Sully's Colors football page.

You should know this.

I just thought I was... Sully's... Is it at 11 o'clock?

We taking them out to kick off tomorrow?

No, three PM.

Oh,

it's a late

afternoon.

Ian, you gotta have the information before you start talking.

Three, three, three o'clock.

Middle Tennessee State backup quarterback.

I don't think that really matters, to be honest with you.

I think both of those guys, they both have experience.

I think obviously, I think they would like to see Edwards.

Throw one down.

I know, I think they'd like to see Edwards in there, but.

The thing about it, though, is if they really want Edwards to play in, you know, in Alabama coming up in the Big Ten games, you would like to have seen them be able to play in this game.

Yeah, again, you would like to, but

sometimes you

don't get what you, you know, this is a major college football here, so.

It is?

Yeah, so

I would, I would, these guys have played and they, it's more about trying to get that run game going.

established and I thought that we said last week offensively I thought they had some more juice I understand they only they only scored 17 points and I think one of them was off basically a short field so but there is a different

Juice to them trying to and trying to how they're trying to get to their running game that I liked and Now it's just the execution if they can get to it different formations different shifts different Motions and things like that trying to get it there trying to get that run game going and if they they still ran for it was just crazy when I was looking at The running bags ran for like 135 yards.

Let me ask you though real quickly about the running bags

Has there been a talent drain in the last couple of years because maybe of the issues of going to the air raid offense because I These guys don't appear to me to be the same level that we were used to with Badgers were so blessed with incredible talent running back wise It doesn't take long for that to kind of that's that's big it to be turned off doesn't

I mean you're talking about

A lot of talent.

Like you said, a lot of guys that end up going to the NFL.

But then you don't have the same kind of carrot for the next generation to come in?

Correct.

It'll

take time.

I mean, I don't know if these running backs are...

I thought they ran hard.

I thought they hit the

holes.

They basically tried.

No, I didn't say they tried.

I didn't say they tried.

I said, well, first of all, they did try.

So that's not actually, that's

a true statement to be honest with you.

But that's like, hey, they

tried.

That's good

enough.

I didn't say that though.

I didn't

say that though.

I said they ran hard and they hit

the

hole and they looked like there are guys that they average, those three guys average five yards a carry.

I mean, which is kind of nuts.

That's higher than they were.

They were playing against teams, a team that wasn't as good as the teams they have.

Let's see if they can do that.

But if they can give that production all the time, they just didn't finish.

And I don't know if either one of those quarterbacks are the kind of guys, let's be honest, do we have anybody that could finish when we had some of those great running backs?

I mean, some of those quarterbacks that Wisconsin had,

Give me some of those names remember Samuels wasn't it Samuels one of them

back

in the I mean these guys were not sorgy I Mean the funny thing is a

lot of those guys though.

We're in the NFL.

I know which is Brooks Ballinger I know they got they got some pretty they got enough money to retire on

Because they knew how to play

that kind

of

game, and they knew how to have success in that kind of offense.

Let's give these guys a chance.

I will.

I'll give them a chance.

Real quickly, the Brewers, five and a half games ahead of Chicago, fell two out of three this week to Philadelphia.

What's your take?

Yesterday was a tough one.

They needed it.

If they got that one,

now you got it.

Go over the five innings, please.

Continue.

He had a lot of pitches.

Oh, I got it out.

Well, that's that's

make sure I'm an old man yelling at the clouds.

Well, I'm not Usually I've agreed with you on that but yesterday The way some things are going you put them out in there a sixth I've noticed recently when they go through though three at third time.

They're not as good I mean, there's a reason why the percentage is that's number

one mentality Can holds manager would have that mentality for them to go out there

to get the job done What the difference is going to be when they get to playoffs and hopefully they said there was an another injury, but

they didn't say who yesterday and I don't know if they came out this morning yet and said it to the he Murphy went to and maybe kind of said that there was another injury coming or that they happen but they have

They have to, if Peralta goes five in the playoffs, they're gonna have somebody like

Biz come in for two, you know what I

mean?

They're

gonna

have so much pitches, not gonna be funny.

That's all they're gonna need to do is five innings.

And they need to

get him

healthy for

the playoffs, so yesterday I

understand that.

Yesterday we just

didn't

finish.

All right, we gotta wrap it up here.

Give Ian his number for the day quiz.

What are you this

week?

One out of three.

All right.

So it's all on the line here.

You got to get this right.

Yeah in the last 100 years What is the most points the Wisconsin football team has scored in a game?

So how many points is the most points Wisconsin football team has scored in a game in the last 100 years?

Okay, is it 73 points 83 points or 93 points?

I'm gonna say

83.

I'm gonna say 83 is my final answer.

So if you get it right, you get a passing grade in a winning week.

If you

get

it wrong, you get a failing grade and shame, shame, shame.

That's right.

In 19, 2010, actually, in 2010, the Badgers erupted for 83 points in a

win over

Indiana.

So you can go, you can take a deep breath, enjoy your weekend.

You too, Chad.

You too, Paul.

Thank you,

Ian.

Have a great game tonight.

Happy Friday, everybody.

Yes, we're 83 tonight.

Yeah.

Good luck against Almond.

Thanks.

All right, more of Pat Krightlow coming up here on 98.9 WXER.
