Good morning, I'm Wayne Rouser for Civic Media News.

Thick smoke from wildfires in Ontario and northern Minnesota will linger in Wisconsin through at least Friday.

An air quality advisory is in place statewide until noon today.

It could be expanded into Friday.

The air quality could reach into the very unhealthy category.

At this level, healthy adults are advised to limit time outdoors.

A 33-year-old Campbellsport man was seriously injured after falling from the top of a moving vehicle in Fond du Lac Tuesday afternoon.

Police and fire rescue responded to the area of 17th Street and Martin Avenue.

The vehicle had left the scene before they arrived.

The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and later was flown to a regional trauma center.

Police were able to identify the vehicle involved and located it in the 100 block of South Park Avenue.

It was seized as evidence in the investigation.

Ripon Police Tuesday morning executed a search warrant at a private residence in the 600 block of State Street for an internet crimes against children investigation.

During the search, a significant amount of child sexual abuse material was located.

A 72-year-old man was taken into

custody and booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple counts of possession of child porn.

Rippin Police were assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, and Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation is continuing.

Officials with the DNR say the restitution they received as part of a 2025 Green Lake County Circuit Court ruling against the Kayaker who faked his own death on Big Green Lake is going to good use.

It was used to purchase new sonar equipment for emergency response to public safety incidents and natural resource protection cases.

Ryan Borgwart staged a boating fatality on the lake, the state's deepest inland lake, back in August of 2024.

Almost two months later, authorities

He had fled the country and falsified his death for personal reasons.

The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement partners located Borgwart in Europe and convinced him to return to Green Lake.

The court ordered Borgwart to pay restitution to the DNR for its approximately 350 hours of staff time spent searching for him.

The DNR used about $9,000 of the funds to purchase a new sonar device.

The unit can map the bottom of order bodies for missing persons.

Oshkosh Police investigated three separate unrelated incidents involving illegal drugs and firearms on Monday.

A 46-year-old resident was taken into custody for a probation violation and a 44-year-old man for bail jumping and obstructing an officer.

About 6 p.m.

Monday evening, Oshkosh police were dispatched to the north side of the city for a report of an accidental firearm discharge inside a home.

Officers located the firearm and took a teenager into custody on weapons-related charges.

No injuries were reported.

An official with EAA Air Venture says it's been a busy week as they prepare for the 73rd annual fly-in and convention.

Things will kick off Monday at Whitman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

Nick Napinski of Air Venture says last year they had record attendance of 704,000 and the more than 900 exhibitors also set a new mark.

Every year Air Venture celebrates a number of aviation anniversaries and this year that includes the 80th anniversary of the class of 46.

He says pilots returning from World War II had a keen interest to continue their flying, and American manufacturers recognized that opportunity.
