I asked coach Jamie Johnson about his team and how they played quite well.
Start the season nine and two record and they have been ranked.
It was kind of nice.
We said, you know, we talked about two.
We're not going to talk about it a lot, but it's nice too.
to recognize or celebrate it in the moment, but it's early in the season, but that, you know, we were able to make the rankings last two weeks.
Last week, we were ranked six and D three this week, we're ranked eight.
So all things consider what we've been through and things like that.
I think it's a great recognition, but there's just a lot of great teams in the area and that can go real quick if we're not grounded and rooted and we play a ranked team this week with Platteville.
So our schedule is
Paying off five teams are ranked around will mention that we've played so far.
So that's just getting this battle tested and ready for a tough Platteville team.
Well, they experienced great coaching.
Um, you know, um, Denise just does a great job down there.
Um, they got the temporary girls, you know, they just got a lot of experience back.
Um, they got the die girl in the middle who's just a huge hitter and blocker.
really brings it mother-harder hitters will face this year.
They just fundamentally sound great servers.
They dig, they play good defense.
They're just the parental power, the expectation, the tradition of plat bill is there.
They won it last year.
They didn't lose a lot to graduation, where they still have some of their key players back.
They just beat a good mineral point team last night.
I know Mineral Point had an injury to one of their players at that tournament we were at.
But yeah, you know, the Mineral Point is still a great program.
And they went to Mineral Point last night, around Tuesday night, and won three sets to one.
So it's going to be a tough challenge, especially without Ella.
But our girls got some experience.
That's what's great about summer ball.
People miss here and there, and other people get opportunities.
And it's just an opportunity for this team to rally.
Put up a good fight.
Lancaster travels to River Valley, Dodgeville at Prairie Duchenne in the Southwest Conference.
Ridge and Valley, Ithaca is at home against DeSoto.
Seneca is at Weston, Kickapoo at Wozika-Stubin.
SWAL, Iowa Grand at Cuba City, Darlington at Fenimore, Mineral Point at Bosquebell, Southwestern at Riverdale.
Benton plays at Scholesburg in the Six Rivers.
Nasida is at Royal, New Lisbon at Oneywalk Center.
Also, Nasida is playing New Lisbon as well, all in Oneywalk Center action tonight from the Scenic Bluffs Conference.

I ask coach Tom Stadler about the match.
Tonight we'll be playing against Platteville at home.
The varsity will play at 7.
The JV will play at 5 o'clock, and we're excited to match up against Platteville.
Well, they recently tied Mount Horob.
They lost to Edgerton, and they have a couple victories as well in the year.
So we're looking to try to knock them off the top here.
That's correct.
The tireless Henry Martin scored four goals in just one game.
He's now tied for the all-time scorer record for Richland Center this season.
Sean Adams also has four goals this year.
But Henry's all came in a single game.
That's right.
We've used that as motivation in practice to get better.
And I've noticed great improvements in the team.
That's right, Phil.
I'd like to invite everybody to come to the stadium.
We're an exciting team to watch.
We already have five players at the varsity level who've scored goals.
So we're hoping to find that net and a great fan base would be a fantastic thing.

I asked coached Andy Troxel about highlights.
Yeah, I was really impressed with Bronson Perkins.
You know, I think that he's come on strong as a blade.
He's got incredible field vision.
you know, unable to make cuts at the line of scrimmage.
And just, he's a kid that he'll give you on contact, another two to three yards.
You know, he'll find it somewhere, somehow, someway.
So, I mean, he had 68 yards rushing on 13 carries and a TD, you know, which was fantastic.
So, on the ground game, absolutely him.
Isaac Gold, our left tackle, had a heck of a game.
You know, that kid's really kind of coming into his own, you know, as another three-year starter, and just a force to be reckoned with on the left side.

The second quarter, we made a couple mistakes in the first quarter, but the way we handled the second quarter and just to complete, to dominate both sides of the ball, uh, rattle off 28 points.
That was kind of a highlight for me.
Our kids when they make mistakes, they don't get rattled, you know, they don't talk They don't hang their head.
They just keep moving forward the second third and fourth quarters have been very good for us in the last couple games The first quarter it wasn't like a bunch of mental mistakes.
It was just a miscue here and a miscue there and Then we're back on defense.
The good thing is a defense held was he could did not move the ball well Their young team and we just kept moving forward

You know, the first thing we kind of look at right away are kind of the self-inflicted wounds.
There's a lot of penalties on our side, both offensively and defensively that put us in some bad spots, turnovers as well, that really hurt us.
And then probably the final spot that we really got to keep cleaning up is just controlling that line of scrimmage on both sides of the football.
Yeah, like again, kind of being able to control that line of scrimmage up front.
Fennelmore did a very nice job blocking up front, and once they got to our second level or even to the outside.
They had some athletes that made her life a little bit harder when it comes to tackling them.
River Valley at home against Don Trill in a Southwest Conference matchup on Friday night during week number four.
The Brewers completed a critical series sweep of the Cubs last night, but not before things got a little close.
Milwaukee led 8-1, but then saw the visitors score five times in the ninth before reliever Abner Uribe nailed down the 8-6 win.

Backup quarterback Drew Locke led two late-scoring drives and the Seahawks intercepted Drake May three times in the fourth quarter to overcome an early injury to starter Sam Darnold and beat the New England Patriots 13-10 in a Super Bowl rematch.
The Packers will go with Marshawn Lloyd as running back number one against the tough defense of the Vikings.
Lloyd has played in one game during his three-year career.
The most experienced back for coach Matt LaFleur's team was Patrick Strong Jr., but he's out for the opener.
