I'm Phil Knee with Sports, locally home-talented baseball, wrapping up a regular season this weekend for the Northern section.

Casanova will be at home tomorrow against South Prairie for Fan Appreciation Day.

And Nick Stillberg, manager of Casanova's team, says South Perry always likes to play on Appreciation Day.

They've been at least twice, I think, since I helped bring the Reds back.

But first time they came up, they couldn't quite believe what they were seeing and everything.

And now every year, at the end of the year, at the beginning of the year, they ask when our fan appreciation was and if they're on the docket for it.

So this year they lucked out and they'll be here for it.

Great.

What kind of a game do you expect Sunday, Nick?

It'll be a good game, a good probably close game.

The last two games we had with the sock, we were down big against them this last Sunday game down at sock and we came back and scored nine runs in the ninth inning to tie it up and they ended up walking it off in the 11th or the 10th, excuse me.

And then we beat them earlier in the night league Thursday at sock.

That was a pretty big win for us down there.

Um, and then I can't remember.

I want to say we still play.

I'm yet here in the night league, uh, to end the year

for the game tomorrow.

12 45 pre game on W R C O F M 100.9 and W R C O dot com.

The Brewers dropped their series opener against the Colorado Rockies 5-2.

Both the Brewers and Rockies had nine hits, but Milwaukee would only score on solo home runs from Bryce Tarang and Christian Yelich.

Left-hander Shane Drohan took the loss, giving him five runs over six innings.

The Brewers rematch with the Rockies.

5-35 pre-game time today on WRC EFM 107.7 at AM 1450, first pitch time just after six.

Following last night's game against the Rockies, a Brewers alumni legends exhibition was played.

The matchup featured players like Ryan Braun, Giovanni Gallardo, Ben Sheetz and Jeff Jenkins.

Randy Wolfe was the hitting star.

The pitcher had a big home run in the legends game.

The latest update on all pro edge rusher, Micah Parsons suggests he won't be back until 8 September or early October.

Parsons had surgery December 29th and that procedure includes an expected nine month recovery time.

Lombardi Avenue dot com reports that he's going to miss at least eight weeks of the 26 NFL season.

It could be more.

This is significant because the Packers were winless without Parsons last season.

The San Francisco 49ers say Coach Kyle Shanahan suffered a concussion and other injuries in a car crash earlier this month that will limit his participation at the start of training camp.

The two-car accident happened on July 14th, leading to Shanahan being taken to a hospital.

The other driver was not hospitalized.

Niners general manager John Lynch says Shanahan sustained a concussion along with a broken nose, broken ribs, and an injured hand.

And Rams coach Sean McVeigh says Aaron Donald is determining whether or not he's going to return real soon.

The Rams will welcome the superstar defensive lineman if he also decides to end his two year retirement.

McVeigh insists he has no idea whether the team's career sax leader will resume his career while the Rams reported to their training camp at Loyola Miramot University.

Donald anchored the Rams defense for a decade before he retired somewhat abruptly in March of 24.

He apparently began to entertain the idea of the comeback after the Rams acquired pass rusher Miles Garrett in a trade with Cleveland early last month.

With update on sports, I am

Phil Knee.

Wednesday night brought the regular season to a close for the Simon Sharks swim team.

After having two meets cancelled in a row, the Sharks were finally able to compete and travel to Dodgeville to swim against Lancaster and the host Dolphins.

Elsa Nordy led the Sharks by earning a first-place finish in freestyle, butterfly, and the individual medley.

The 11- and 12-year-old girls medley team consisting of Sophia Kramer, Kaelin Burns, Claire Hyang, and Morgan Worthington came from behind to get the win, overtaking a strong Dodgeville team.

In the freestyle, Audrey Waterfall and Lauren Chambers have finished second

Ezekiel Leonard and Leah Chambers finished first in the backstroke with Maury Wright earning a third place finish.

The butterfly saw a first place for Ezekiel Leonard, second place finish from Claire Hyne, third place finishes from Alex Hofer, Harper Adler,

Cameron Keane, Clancy Hyene, and Lucien Hamblin.

In the distance freestyle, Kaelin Burns and Lucien Hamblin finished second while Bruin Bulbel and Clancy Hyene took third place.

Lauren Chambers finished first in breaststroke.

Claire Hyde and Madeleine Ringelstetter swam in second, while Audrey Waterfall, Ezekiel Leonard, Brooklyn Worthington, Matthew Hardy, and Clancy Hyde finished third.

In the individual medley, Lauren Chambers finished first.

Bennett Heisel, Morgan Worthington, Cameron Keane, and Chloe Hyde finished third.

The three-person Aiden Undergirls free relay made up of Marilyn Wachter,

Ellie Kramer and Danielle Worthington swam an exciting race and outtouched Lancaster.

Wachter let off the relay and came from behind on her second leg to help lead the Sharks to a fifth-place finish.

The Sharks cap off their season Saturday in Boscobel at the seven-team conference meet.

Tomoyuki Sagano picked up his 10th win of the season and Kyle Carose and TJ Rumfield each had two hits as the Colorado Rockies capitalized on a fast start and beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2.

Sagano 10-4 on the year struck out 5 over 5-1-3 innings

The only runs he allowed came off solo home runs from Christian Yelich and Bryce Terrang.

Sagano was making his second start since coming off the injured list after missing three weeks due to back spasms.

Colorado took the lead for good in the first inning when two of its first three batters scored a run.

Milwaukee Brewer infielder David Hamilton is off the injured list after recovering from a left hamstring strain.

The Brewers announced that move before last night's game with Colorado.

They designated infielder Braden Schemake to assignment.

The 28-year-old Hamilton is hitting 240 with a 3-17 on base percentage.

He has three home runs, 15 runs knocked in and 18 steals and 74 games this season for the crew.

He last played on July 6th, Hamilton entered Friday, having started 36 games at third base, 25 at shortstop, and four at second base.

National League winners besides Colorado, the Cubs, Arizona, the Dodgers, San Diego, and Cincinnati, American League victories go to Detroit, Tampa Bay, Boston, the Athletics, Texas, and Houston.

Interleague winners, the Yankees, Atlanta, and San Fran.

CBS NFL analyst Wisconsin native and former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence.

A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office arrest report says Romo performed poorly on field sobriety tests after getting stopped while driving south on Interstate 43 on Thursday.

Sheriff's officials said Roma was taken into custody, booked, and then released.

He has a court appearance set for September 21st.

Of course, Roma went to high school about 35 miles from Milwaukee in Burlington.

The 46-year-old Roma has been the lead analyst for CBS NFL coverage since 2017.

The CBS Sports Network had no comment.

And LeBron James is heading to...

the Philadelphia 76ers.

James made the announcement on social media saying it will be quote his last decision and that it comes after he strongly considered retirement.

James says quote I believe I can help make the 76ers a championship team.

I'm so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one final time.

James wrote he was quote done when his 23rd NBA season ended.

He says, I was pretty sure I played my last game.

I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game.

Apparently he does.

He's going to take that love to

Philadelphia.
