Family Medicine provider Dr. Brian Kroll of the Richland Hospital was a recent guest on The Morning Show, and he talked about the importance of athletics and the kids getting involved.
I'd encourage parents to consider sports as a second part of school, trying to get at least one sport in, whether that's golf, volleyball, soccer, football, baseball.
It doesn't have to be football, but encourage.
encourage all parents to push their kids to pick up one sport.
You have to pick one sport just to learn those skills.
practices will be starting soon and other reminders to get those physicals taken care of, right?
Yeah, WIA sports physicals, you need them every two years.
You know, getting them done in the summertime.
Usually, it's a lot less busy now compared to August, just with school starting and needing to get the fall sports done.
So $15, it's a quick appointment.
You have to bring
the WA form and have a parent present.
Those are the only restrictions.
All providers are doing these, but you don't have to see your provider.
You can see anybody, especially if a certain date works better for you, but get them done early.
It's a necessary and important part of querying your child for athletics, and it's a requirement.
So every two years you need
it.

That was Dr. Brian Krall.
It was announced yesterday by the WIAA that Todd Clark, Director of Communications with the WIAA will retire from his role effective January 15th of 2027.
During his more than 26 years in the position, Clark's responsibilities have included overseeing all aspects of sports information for the association, internal and external communications, media relations, corporate marketing and sponsorships, advertising, tournament records and sportsmanship.
He also assisted with website maintenance as well as the tournament series, electronic qualification and seating as well.
He's been a huge help for local media as well when their teams from their area went to the state tournament.
So he will be missed.
Todd Clark's last day again will be coming up in February of 2027 during the upcoming school year.
Tonight, it is Church League Softball.

Tonight at seven on the East Diamond, St.
Mary's will play Richland Baptist Temple.
One, five points will umpire.
At eight, 10, five points Lutheran will play Richland Baptist Temple.
