The University of Wisconsin confirmed yesterday that it has hired Sean Eichhorst to be its new athletic director.
Eichhorst, a native of Lone Rock, graduate of River Valley High School, played college football at UW Whitewater, got his law degree from Marquette, and was on Barry Alvarez's staff from 2006 through 2011.
It's an honor and privilege for me to come back to the University of Wisconsin and work for one of the most elite universities in the world.
If you look at my track record, I've always tied myself to elite institutions who are their mission and their values and their people are in alignment relative to the academic and the research.
And then of course the athletic component and all the great things that
that does.
He comes to Madison by way of the University of Texas, where he recently was the Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer.
He looks to get back and immerse himself in the culture of Wisconsin.
Just relatability, familiarity.
I don't take those things for granted, but I do think, and I think Dr. Wilcott's pointed it out, I think it's a bonus that I grew up outside of Madison.
I worked at the university.
I worked at another state system at Wisconsin Whitewater.
And so there are ebbs and flows to how these universities work within this great system here in Wisconsin.
So and I know, you know, I know the state.
I know there's 72 counties and I know where Chateau is and a connoisseur is and, you know, Ashland is and all those other sorts of, you know, places.
And and so for me, there's a little there's a little bit of comfort with that.
That is new University of Wisconsin Athletic Director Sean Eichhorst, a native of Southwest Wisconsin.

Sunday league games all weekend long then, including Friday night,
Wisconsin Dells plays at Salk Prairie, Argyle at Wyota, Middleton at Black Earth, Ashton at Mazemany, and Sun Prairie will be at Rio.
Games on the 4th of July, lots of games centered around community celebrations as well.
Black Earth at Cross Plains, Arena at Ridgeway is going to be on the 4th at 1 o'clock, Belleville at Scholesburg Benton, Hollandale at Dodgeville at 1,
Pine Bluff Mount Hurib plays at Verona and Muscaday is at Blanchardville at one on the fourth.
Middleton plays at Reedsburg for Reedsburg's fourth of July commemoration.
That's at four Saturday and Casanovia is at Mazemani for their fourth celebration.
That starts at four o'clock.

Like I said, I show up the same every day since the first day of camp to now like sticking with the process and obviously like when things are going good and you're feeling good like I've shown more but like I wouldn't say I feel more like any more confident I think like I show up knowing what I'm capable of on a given day but obviously like being in rhythm helps with that right like not going up there thinking as much and just being athletic and being yourself but I think that's what
playing games and being out there most importantly I think that's where like
that confidence doesn't change day to day.
