
Today is a big day for high school sports. It is sectional track and field action and getting ready
for the sectional meet at Bangor today, Ithaca, Weston. Among those competing in the 800 Sam Jones
and Ethan Berkram, Clayton Lee will be involved in three events, including the 1600 and 3200.
Braden Burns will also run in the 1600 and the Ithaca Weston four by eight team Clayton Lee,
Braden Burns, Brayson Garcia-Boland, Sam Jones, Ethan Berkram and Peyton Brown are getting ready
and in the discus throw, Faith Stinichka will compete for Ithaca, Weston. Going on today and the
tournament which will be held in McFarland for Richland Center, including the four by eight,
Owen Dreyer, Kiernan Culver, Ryan Stadler and Robert Budden, the four by eight girls,
Grace Fretz, Pearl Fretz, Adeline Lawless and Lacey Awball, Duncan Harper in three events,
the 100, the 300 meter hurdles and the long jump, Robert Budden in the 400, also Charlie Bailey
competes in the 400 and the 200, the 3200, Owen Dreyer, Kiernan Culver and Ryan Stadler will be
representing Richland Center. The girls four by four relay team, Riley Banker, Lacey Awball,
Grace Fretz and Adeline Wertz and Danica Paul's and Chloe Hying will be also competing in the
pole vaulting, Devon Woodhouse representing the Richland Center boys in that pole vault event today.
Now turning to some of the games that went on yesterday, amazing contests, including the Richland
Center softball team winning a regional championship on Thursday night when they endured a 12-inning
marathon and edge Gay electric tremolo won nothing. Softmore pitcher Kyrie Fisher with an
instant classic 24 strikeouts two walks and four hits given up. She drove in the games only run
in the 12th inning on a sacrifice. The Hornets will play an Adams friendship Tuesday night
in the sectional semi-final. Adams was winner against Westby last night. The final score was
seven to nothing. Fisher with 24 strikeouts four hits and gave up two walks and Richland Center
gets the win to advance into the sectional for the second year in a row. Point it was a winner

Division two Monroe three two over Portage and Mount Horob got a win against Evansville eight
nothing. Division four softball the year came to an end for Riverdale. Phenomore was in eight
nothing winner. Iowa Grant got the win against Melrose Mandoro six nothing. Mineral point ten
nothing over Cubicity in five innings and Deerfield beat Marshall 12 to one.
In division five yesterday, Ithaca Weston with a win eight six over Hillsboro. The Bulldogs
led seven nothing before the Tigers scored three runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
The leading hitters for Ithaca Weston were Haley McGlin who was three for four with three runs
scored. Kelsey Coleman three for three with a walk and double automatic Bane hit a home run.
Elma Hilby and Brindley Oneless both had hits as the team improved to 18 and four overall.
JC Maxwell was the winning pitcher as she worked six in a third innings before giving way to
Aspen Young who got the games final two outs. Hillsboro was led at the plate by Michelle Horrah
who had two hits Aubren Herrits had a two run home run and suffered the pitching loss.
The Tigers finished the season at 11 and 14 following the eight six win. Ithaca Weston will
host Royal on Tuesday night in the sectional semi final game. Royal was a winner 11 nothing
overdue Soto in five innings. Bartavell ten five over River Ridge. They will face Belmont next.
Belmont was a winner eight one over our Guile Black Hawk in WIA regional championship softball
in WIA baseball finals from yesterday Richland center seated 13th in the regional knocked off
number four Mount Horab for one of the state's biggest upsets according to seating yesterday. It was
the Hornets getting the win six to three. They built the lead early and held it on to get the
victory at Mount Horab. The next action for Richland center also comes up on Tuesday. They will be
at Barrow Boo after Barrow Boo defeated Stoten 11 five McFarlane 15 and Plattville four
portage six one over Evansville. Merrill Edge West Salem two to nothing. Lodi six nothing over
broadhead Judah in division three action from yesterday. Riverdale Chief didn't score the
win opening the tournament with a nine nothing victory against Prairie Dushine. Eli Campbell
pitched a great game going six and a third innings giving up just four hits. Ethan Kegel would come
on to nail down the last two outs. The Cheafedons turn in a number of spectacular defensive plays
including a great throw by Owen Blankenship in right to cut down a tagging Prairie Dushine runner
at the plate. Eli would go two for four at the plate with four RBI while Bevan Dennis would score
three runs. The Cheafedons now 14 and 11 on the season will travel to Iowa Grant Tuesday night for

Indivision four yesterday it was a win for Wasika Stuban over Southwestern 7 four Hillsboro
advanced in the tournament 11 one and five innings Royal 12 nothing over LaFarge cashed in five
nothing over Independence Gilminton. Santa K ended the year for Kikapu 10 five also yesterday North
Crawford Edge Moskabel in a 10 inning thriller five four North Crawford with the win.
Elsewhere in division four the Ithaca Bulldogs picked up a nine nothing win over Highland
behind 14 strikeouts from Houston, Boland and a combined no hitter from Boland and Caden Keller.
