A few scores from the softball triangulars that were held around the area today at Richland
Center, the Hornet Speed Phenomore, 4-1 in the early game. Phenomore was a winner against
Auburn Dale 8-4 in game 2. At the Riverdale Triangular today, Riverdale was a winner, 14-5,
over Pechotanica Argyle in five innings. Also, it was Pechotanica Argyle in Ithaca meeting
game 2, with the bulldogs coming out with an 8-7 win, and Ithaca defeated Riverdale 11-7
in the Triangular culmination game this afternoon at Riverdale High School. Girl Soccer in game
1 of the Richland Center Triangular, we have a score from that, Portage Point at Defeated
Richland Center, 7-0. At the Gingermory Riverdale Track invite that was held today, the girls
results. It was new Lisbon. There, they were finishing first in the boys event, followed
by Hillsboro, 2nd Wisconsin Heights Barnvel was 3rd, Riverdale 4th, and Ithaca Weston
was 5th, River Valley 7th. Also, in the girls' invite, Riverdale took first, with a whopping
155 and a half points. New Lisbon was 2nd, Wisconsin Heights Barnvel finished 3rd, Hillsboro
4th was Ica Stuban 5th, River Valley 6th, and Ithaca Weston 7th at the Big Gingermory
invite. Speaking of Riverdale, some of the top finishers included, the Riverdale Relay
team, the 4-8 finishing in 3rd place, Hunter Rowan, Mark Wilkie, Kaelin Wilkinson,
and Clark Jelson. Gretchen Buchholz was first in the 100-meter hurdles, and NREL Gantula
was 2nd in the 100-meter dash. Melanie Williamson was 2nd overall in the 1600, Mallory
Meas finished 3rd. Riverdale's 4-by-2 relay team, Abbey Tisdale, Mavana Zarbak, Bri Bartles,
and Aubrey Williamson finished 3rd. Olivia Meas was 3rd in the 400-meter dash. 2nd place
finish in the 4-by-1 for Haley Schneider, Kaeli Carter, Gretchen Buchholz, and Mary Medina.
In other finishes for Riverdale Gretchen Buchholz finished 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles. First
place for Grant Stardivan in the 300-meter hurdles. Melanie Williamson took a first in
the 800 and Millie Schneider 3rd. Aubrey Williamson, also in the 200-meter dash, was 3rd,
NREL Gantula took 2nd in the 200-meter dash. Melanie Williamson was 1st in the 3200,
and Riverdale's 4-by-4 relay team finished 2nd. Abbey Tisdale, Millie Schneider, Mallory
Meas, and Aubrey Williamson ran that for the Chieftains. Gretchen Buchholz 3rd in the
high jump. First place finish for Kaeli Carter and pole vault, and Haley Schneider in long
jump, representing the Chieftains. Grant Stardivan was 2nd in the long jump, and a first place
finish for Haley Schneider in the girls' triple jump competition.
For Ithaca Weston, Clayton Lee was 1st in the 1,600-meter run. Sam Jones took first in
the 800. First place for Clayton Lee in the 3200. It was the first place for Bracen
Garcia-Bolen in the pole vault competition. 4-by-4 relay team of Sam Jones, Bracen
Garcia-Bolen, Deakin McDonough, and Peyton Brown finished in 2nd place. And 3rd place today
for Deakin McDonough in the shot put. For River Valley, among their finishers, Brielle
Grant first in the 1,600-meter run. Nathan Hamilton finished 2nd in the 1,600 as well
for the River Valley Black Hawks at the Ginger Mori invite. And Jacob Wagner finished 2nd
in the high jump competition. The Brewers are currently leading by a score of 4-1 of the
game over the Washington Nationals after a win last night. Jacob Mizorowski's bid for
no hit or quickly faded as the biggest news for the Brewers 6-7 right-hander was a hamstring
injury that forced him to leave a 6-1 win at Washington. Jacob missed the last part of
the game after working 5-1-3 hitless with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks before leaving the
game because of a right hamstring camp. A cramp that has the 20-foil year old of Mizorowski
departed after throwing a fastball to James Wood. And following a discussion with manager
Pat Murphy and trainer Brad Epstein, Mizorowski left the field.
Kazumo Okamado hit his 3rd home run in 2 days. Brandon Villanisuela,
homered in 8-run inning overall for the Blue Jays as they beat the twins by a score of 11-4 today.
Len Sosa and Miles Straw also went deep for Toronto which scored a season high in runs while
winning for the 6th time in 8 games but saw George Springer leave with an injury in that contest.
Celtic star Jason Tatum has been ruled out for game 7 with left knee stiffness.
The team announced the news about an hour and a half before the start of the winner take all
first round matchup between Boston and the Philadelphia 76ers. Coach Joe Mizula said
Tatum came to the team facility Saturday with knee discomfort and the medical team decided for
him not to play. Tatum briefly left game 6 in the 3rd quarter for unspecified treatment to the
calf area. Tatum, of course, is just 22 games into his return from the torn right Achilles
tendon injury he suffered in last season's playoffs. The San Diego Padres have reached an
agreement to sell control of the team to an investor group led by Koana Jones and Jose E Feliciano,
the family of late owner Peter Seidler formally announced the deal today. The sale must still be
approved by Major League Baseball, the deal with private equity billionaire Feliciano and his
wife took shape last month at an MLB record valuation of $3.9 billion. And the 150 second edition
of the Kentucky Derby will be running 19 horses instead of the maximum 20 after a late scratch less
than 12 hours before the race. The Puma was ruled out today because of a swollen leg from a skin
infection, the horse trained by Gustavo Delgado Senior and son Gustavo Delgado Junior opened at odds
of 10 to 1. It was bet down to 8 to 1 by Friday. Renegade remains the favorite in the wide open
field for the opening leg of the triple crown that is set to go off shortly today. That is a look
