On the local high school sports scene, River Valley and Richland Center battled in baseball
and Phil Lee was there.
River Valley opened the Southwest Wisconsin conference with an 8-1 baseball win at Richland
Center on Friday.
The Black Hawk scored a run on the first, two in the second, four in the third, and one
on the fourth inning on their way to the win.
Seeing your picture, Quincy Blakely led the way with a seven inning complete game win
from the mound.
He struck out seven, walked three, and gave up three Richland Center hits.
Tyson Luther had two hits, and scored twice to leave the offense.
Jordan and Jaden Gogger, Owen Jones and Keegan Heiser all had hits as the Hawks improved
to two and three on the season for first year head coach Matt Bachem.
Before the Hornets, Brady Dosh, a Bosworth and Clay Johnson all hit safely, Bosworth scored

and Rowan May just couldn't convert to a back-of-the-net score.
Defensively, the Hornets were led by Ella Stadler, Brynn Anderson and Sylvia Schmidt, Harper
Glass-Brenner and keeper Olivia Donna kept their score within striking distance for
the Hornets.
They were unable to convert, however, and the Hornets fall in non-conference action
Friday night to Redsburg 2-0.
