I am Phil Ney with WRC O sports. The Southwest Conference, all conference gymnastics teams have been
announced. Dodgill Mineral Point Iowa Grand Highland was the first place champion team this year
in the league. Southwestern Benton, Cuba City, Darlington was second. Also for River Valley, Barnavelle,
well represented, Presley Montrey was an out of all mentioned on the vault. Second team on bars,
all mentioned on the beam as well as a second team member on the floor. All around Presley
Montrey was a second team member and all mentions for River Valley, Barnavelle's Ella Prohaska
and Emma Jung as well. The 50th WIA Girls State Basketball Tournament will take place this Thursday
through Saturday at the Rush Center in Green Bay. It's the 50th anniversary and a celebration will
continue and the programs and activities plan include future champions team experience with group
promotions and fan engagement for youth teams attending the state tournament. Other celebration
activities feature team exclusive tournament series shooting shirts available for all schools,
a social media campaign highlighting the history of the tournament and in-game commemorative t-shirt
a recognition of prominent athletes, coaches and officials of past tournaments and give away
sponsored by Discover Green Bay. Discover Green Bay as a public exhibit honoring the 50th
year history of the WIA Girls Basketball State Tournament at the Visitors Center. The exhibit
includes curated historical stories, visual displays and artifacts including the 2026 Division 1
Championship trophy for all visitors to view. There is also a 3-point challenge held prior to
Saturday's championship game. The contestants representing Division 1 are Claudia Asman
of Kimberly and Carden Pepler of Hortonville representing Division 2 are Kinley Peterson
of Fox Valley Lutheran and Riley Ward of Wittnell. The Division 3 participants are Grace Mitchell
of Winnecony and Brianna Heller of Austin. Division 4 will be represented by Brooklyn
Talmadge of Boyceville and Zoe Ciders of Valder's and the Division 5 contestants are Aubrey Shettle
of Lords Academy and Ellie Gardner of Columbus Catholic. You can visit the WIA website for more

Basketball Tournament was held on Sunday. Here are the results. The 608 team was a winner 52-48
over the RC 67ers. 608 was led by Alec Adsit with 21 points and Ben Drey with 12, the 67ers
led by Micah Salisbury with 26 points including 63 pointers, Ira Coppernall had 11, including 3
pointers. In the next game, it was Team Lyle getting a win 65-52 over the dorms. Brian
Poles had 22 points including 3-3 pointers, Jesse Hirshah with 19 points, Bruno Packer with a
total of 21 points, and Luis Alonzo Mendoza Aguilar had 12 points for the dorms. It was WCCU
and 608 battling in the 7-30 game. 608 came out on top, 55-50, Alec Adsit at 23 and Ben Drey
and Kyle Muller, each at 11 points for WCCU, the number one seed, Christian Ernestian at 13 points,
including 3-3 pointers, and Caleb Olson had 12 points. The league championship game will be played
on Sunday that will feature Team Lyle against 608 for the men's league championship this year
at the Richland Center Community Center. Richland Center Church League volleyball tournament has come
to a close Monday night. Last week, undefeated Lighthouse Chapel took the Division A tournament
championship over St. Mary's two games to none. Last night, Avocca Bible Church came through the
consolation bracket, sweeping two matches from Richland Baptist Temple 3 by scores of two
games to none, winning the championship of Division C. And Church of the Nazarene 2 took the
first match over Bula Wesleyan, two games to one, but Bula prevailed in the rematch, taking the
Division B championship two games to none. Church League officials want to thank all teams,
the Richland Center Parks and Rec Department, WRCO, and the Richland Observer for helping to promote
this season, planning for Church League softball will begin soon, watch and listen for more information.
Major bowling league action week 27 of 32-week season, Richland Family Restaurant had a 3598
series, Quail Run Golf Links 3550, Lonesome Dove Tavern a 3524, team game honors, Richland Family
Restaurant a 1237, Lonesome Dove Tavern a 1221, and Quail Run Golf Links a 1200. Top series,
Cory Davis with a 680 series, Carrie Geiss 100 over average, and Dan Schwein if it's also both
rolled 640s, and Wilburasa 111 over average, with a 633. Cory Davis had the top game at 253,
Derek Callan with a 252, Fred Kepler and Wilburasa each had 237s, and Randy Paul's a 236,
Jeff Razer bowl to 597, 108 over average, Randy Paul's bowl to 609 series, 96 over average,
in the major bowling league. The Packers will save 19 and a half million
dollars against the salary cap by releasing offensive lineman Elton Jenkins. Jenkins made the
Pro Bowl twice as a guard before moving to center last season. He started the first nine games
before suffering a broken ankle. Also announced Monday was a new three-year contract for former
Packer quarterback Malik Willis with the Miami Dolphins. 45 million guaranteed money. It's a three-year
deal worth 67 million if things go well for Malik in Miami. A weekend sweep in Penn State
clenched a game on the home ice for the Wisconsin men's hockey team, but it did not produce much in
the polls. In fact, the Nittany Lions dropped more than the Badgers gained. This week's US CHO
found Wisconsin up one spot to number 10. Penn State dropped four. The good work on the road means
the Badgers will be at home Wednesday night for the first round game against Ohio State.
Jake Bowers blasted his third home run of the spring, but it wasn't enough to keep the brewers
from dropping a four-three game to the Dodgers. Bowers is 9 for 17 so far, and he's also walked five
times. Milwaukee got runs scoring hints from infielders Greg Jones and Ethan Murray. Shane
Drowhand took the loss. The brewers are off today before playing the reds next.
The Phoenix sons will be missing two starters when they show up at the Pfizer forum tonight
to take on the box. Dylan Brooks and Mark Williams are listed as out for the game. A calf strain could
keep Jordan Goodwin on the bench, but he is listed as questionable along with Grayson Allen.
Janis Ata de Kumpo and Kyle Kusma missed Milwaukee's lopsided loss to Orlando Sunday. Both
are expected to be back. The Badgers are preparing for the opening game in the big 10 tournament
on Thursday afternoon. Coach Skreggaard talked about shooting a lot of threes, which is now pretty
much the rule in college basketball. We look around the country. That's where it's at. They play
together. They claw off one another. You know, if you can create a lot of space with your good spacing
and good tempo and shooting threes now, your ability to play downhill and drive gaps becomes a
little simpler and a little easier. So you can't do just one thing. You have to have a good mix and
there's a lot of things that come into it before the balls ever released off the shooter's hand.
Coach Greggaard was asked what is plan B if the threes aren't falling? It's connected to other.
It's connected to spacing. It's connected to tempo. It's connected to two point shot selection.
They're all tied together. It's not, you know, if you don't do one of those other things, well,
the threes become harder or challenge more difficult to maybe get the look you want. But I think
when our spacing is good and we scream and play with good tempo, you know, and then we're able to
