girls made it to regional round two and they played last night. So the Ithaca boys will play at

at the call center in Madison on Thursday. It continued yesterday and it will continue today
with a wrap up in a look forward. Here's WRC OFM's Bill Twining. The state wrestling tournament
continues today at the call center in Madison. This is the 83rd annual event for the boys and the
fifth for the girls. The last four years the tournament has been held in conjunction at the
call center in Madison. Here's how area wrestlers have have paired Richland Center with two
girls in the state tournament. Senior Kaylee Spilde lost her preliminary match on Thursday night
in the then wrestled back with a pin on Friday before losing and being eliminated from the tournament.
She finishes with a 31 and seven record as a senior state qualifier for Richland Center.
Her teammate fellow senior Madeleine Muller, her second trip to state won her opening match
10 to nothing on Thursday night. Then lost her quarter final to freshman
Dalyne Cody of Princeton Green Lake. Cody has gone under qualify for the state titles,
her state championship and will wrestle for a title this evening. Madeleine Muller bounced back
on Friday with a pin in the wrestle background and will compete again this morning at 10 o'clock
if she wins that match. She will wrestle for fifth place for Richland Center.
Lascabelle Lasica Stuban with one girl, one boy and the tournament sophomore Pete and Sandra
lost her preliminary match on Thursday and then lost her wrestle back on Friday and she has
been bounced from the tournament. Junior Ashton Yudelhoven in his first state tournament appearance
lost his preliminary round match. Then won a 72 wrestle back on Friday before losing a seven to
two wrestle back match also on Friday and he is out of the tournament as well. North
Crawford Senica, senior Adriana Lowe, who placed third at state two years ago, has three wins
so far this year including a pair of pins and then a nine to two semifinal win last night over
Bryn Schmidt of New London wrestling for a state championship tonight. Adriana Lowe of North
Crawford Senica will take on two time state champion Brooke Huffman of Wittenberg, Burnham Wood.
Riverdale has five boys wrestling in the state tournament. They're all still competing
and all have a chance to place including senior Grant Matthews, a defending state champion,
won his semifinal on Friday night by technical fall, seven takedowns for Grant Matthews
in his win over Zach Helendrong of Boyceville. Matthews will wrestle two time state runner up Tyson,
our Tyson Martin of Aquinas in the state final tonight. Senior Brody Mies of Riverdale,
a three time state place winner bounced back after a tough Thursday night quarter final loss,
won by a pin in the wrestle backs. He has possibly two more matches today in a fifth place
medal waiting for him at the Cole Center. Junior Lakota Brewer, a state runner up a year ago,
same path lost in the quarter finals Thursday night, bounced back with a technical fall victory in
the wrestle backs on Friday and like Brody Mies needs one more win to get into the fifth place match.
Sophomores Wyatt and James Schram bounced back after quarter final losses on Thursday night,
both won their wrestle backs on Friday and compete on Saturday morning and are two wins away
from a fifth place medal. Doddfield brought three boys to state. All are still wrestling. Senior
Hawke and Peterson looks for his fourth state title tonight. We'll get to him in a moment.
Senior Nathan Johnson won two matches and then lost a four to two semifinal on Friday night.
He wrestles for third place today. Junior Shane Rishan of Doddfield, a state champion two
years ago as a freshman and a state runner up last year. One his semifinal match on Friday night
by technical fall. He will meet defending state champion Colton Bolig of Evansville for the title
and Hawke and Peterson looking for that fourth state title will face Eastern Camerood of
Barnavelle in the finals this evening. Peterson won as a freshman at one hundred six pounds
as a sophomore at one thirteen and last year at one forty four. He's competing at one sixty five
this evening looking for that fourth state title. Mineral point brought two girls and seven boys
to state. Sophomores Tatum James and Samuel Springer are out of the tournament. Everybody else
still in although Mason Scullion at junior lost his quarter final and then lost his
wrestle back. So he's out of the tournament as well. Senior three time state place winner
Deelia Collins won her wrestle back match on Friday and one more win will put Deelia in the
fifth place match. Junior Emmett Collins her brother along with junior Jacob Dan and Burke
sophomore and Memphis or sophomore Memphisburg holder won their wrestle back on Friday.
Their one win away from a fifth place match. Sophomore Trigg Riley of Mineral point one twice
on Thursday but then lost his semi final on Friday night. He will wrestle for third place
and the pointers do have one wrestler in the state finals that is Sophomore Liam Perry who has
three wins including a six to one semi final win on Friday night over second rank Parker's
spirit of brilliant. In the finals Liam Perry will meet Martez Sheerid of Aquinas in the 126
pound weight class tonight in division three. I have a grant Highland brought six wrestlers
to state. Sophomore Ty cuts lost his wrestle back on Friday so he's out of the tournament.
The other five are still wrestling. Freshman Rowan Altman for the girls will lost her preliminary
round match on Thursday but bounced back with two wins Friday. One more win will put Rowan
Altman in the state fifth place match. Fellow freshman Wyatt Hoffman for the boys similar situation
won his preliminary round match but then lost his quarterfinal to defending state champion Blake
Underwood of Marathon 11-5 on Friday won his wrestle back and one more win for him will have
Wyatt Hoffman wrestling for fifth. The other three wrestlers for Iowa Grand Highland are all in
the finals. Sophomore Gryffin-Woneski had one have had six pounds as three wins including
beating the second seeded Dakota Craft of Edgar in the semi finals wrestling for a state title
Gryffin-Woneski will meet Top Ranked or Top Seated Tucker Keeper line of Shiacton. Junior Brock
Hinderman of Iowa Grand Highland at 175 pounds won his semi final by technical call over Western
Schmidt of Brilliant for a championship. Hinderman has to get by the number two seed set race
of Cedar Grove Belgium and Senior Jackson Busy of Iowa Grand Highland at the Fenty State
champion at 165 pounds won his semi final. Ford or nothing over Logan Peterson of Cumberland
championship. Busy needs to meet the two seed Liam Richards of Hustburg. Area teams that do
do I have anyone wrestling at state this year include River Valley if they could Western kick
the boulevard Youth Initiative Hillsboro Royal Waniwak Center for Okwa Westby, New Lisbon and Wisconsin
Dells. No Richland Center boys this year for just the fifth time since 1960 and that included a 46
year run when Richland Center had at least one wrestler at state from 1960 to 2005.
Saturdays wrestling at the Cole Center in Madison begins with wrestling backs in all three divisions
plus the girls and then we'll follow with matches for fifth place and those four third tonight
session at 530 begins with the parade of champions we'll be on the air with reports throughout
the morning session and into the afternoon hours and then have the championship finals tonight
