And today is the final day of the WIA State Wrestling Tournament at the Coles Center
in Madison. With a report, here's Bill Twining.
State Wrestling Tournament comes to a conclusion tonight at the Coles Center in Madison. They
have a 530 start time for the parade of champions. And then, the championship matches
will be wrestled in divisions 1, 2, 3 for the boys. And also for the girls, apparently
is a four-matte format on the floor of the Coles Center here in Madison. There's some
things that are lined up for the championship matches tonight. There are some from our
area, including Adriana Logan, a senior from North Crawford, Sonica, fighting for a
state title in the girls division. For the boys, the Grand Matthews of Riverdale, Jackson
Bussey, and Iowa Grand Highlander, among defending camps who have made it back to the
state finals, Matthews will face Tyson Martin of Aquinas in the championship tonight,
division 3 at 285 pounds, while Bussey goes to get Liam Richards of Boostberg in the
division 3 final at 165. Championship matches tonight for the girls started 120 pounds
and then makes their way around. And for the boys, they're starting in the 175 pound
weight class. The other wrestlers of our immediate area that are in the state championship
matches tonight, Dr. Paul Liam Perry represents a mineral point at 126 pounds in division 3.
Griffin, what asked he is not called the Myelogram Highland, is in the finals at 106. And Junior
Brock Hinderman of Iowa Grand Highland, 175 in the championship back there. So three members
of Iowa Grand Highland going for state titles tonight. And you're a couple from Dodgville,
our immediate area, Junior Shane Richana, former state champs, is back in the finals for
the third year he was runner up last year. And Hawkins Peterson, 165 pounds for the Dodgers,
looks for his fourth state title, wrestling at 165 pounds this evening. Other area wrestlers
are extended areas that have a chance for a state title, include Maddick Smow of Bellville,
Monticello, New Glarets, Luke of Thorlaugh, of TaxiShotica, Argyle, Selmont Flatville,
Dillon Wigel, Jack Simmons of Prairie to Gene, Branko Garcia of Cubicity Betts and South
Lefters, Desmond Siebers from the Bearaboo, Sam Zanson, and Reed Balls of Middleton, Nolan
Henshey, and Toy Riggins of Black History. And these wrestlers from across the state that
are going for multiple titles, in addition to Hawkins Peterson of Dodgville,
O'Connorville O'Killin-Wolver, looks for a fourth state title among the boys, and two girls,
hope to become the first four-time state titles in that division, Taylor Whiteing of Lena,
and Carly Testor of Badger. There are five individuals that look for their third state titles tonight,
Liam Crook, of Capota, in the boys' area, and for the girls' horoscope,
Angela Bianchi and two rivers, Madeleine Peach of Milton, Lilliana Banks of Banacha,
and Book Puff, of which birds burn a wood, she is a junior.
Earlier today, a couple of various teams saw their settlement stuff to disclose when the
senior Madeleine Muller of Richmond Center bowed out. She was two and two in the settlement,
also senior Kaleigh Stilby, representative of the Horace, who did not have a boy at the
State Wrestling Tournament for just the fifth time in the 1960s.
Richland Center at one time had a streak of 46 consecutive years, with at least one state
qualifier, but no one here this year from Richmond Center, also no one from River Valley,
Jessica Weston, Pickaboo Farge, Youth Initiative, Hillsboro, Royal Water Walk Center,
two Lisbon, Baroque Lofts, Westby, and Wisconsin Dells from our area,
nobody competing here in the state tournament. These area individuals have already placed
in the tournament, or the Riverdale region, a pair of fifth-place efforts from senior Brodie Meas,
a four-time state placement from junior Bacota Brewer, he has placed there a state
place, and a sixth-place finish from sophomore Wyatt Tram, named Tram Russell here in the
tournament for Riverdale, but did not place. Nathan Johnson, a senior from Dodgill, has already
finished his fourth for the Dodgill. Place winners already from a mineral point include a third-place
win for sophomore Strik Reilly, finishing fifth for the pointers are Delia Collins, a four-time
place winner in the girls tournament, and also Jacob Dandenberg, while sixth-place
metals will be won by sophomore Memphis Berkolder and junior Hammond Collins from mineral points.
We were on the air tonight for the state championship matches, we'll have those
live for you. A lot of area individuals has meant to keep an eye on, and then we'll have a
full report on the state tournament in tomorrow morning. If snowing in Madison, we hope for a
limited amount of snow is safe to fall later than this evening. For WRQ Sports, the David

WIA Girls High School basketball regionals, all games tonight that are being played tonight,
we'll begin at seven, and the winners of tonight's games will advance on to the sectionals,
which began on Thursday at seven. Area teams that are playing tonight include
the division five. Disoto is going to be at Blair Taylor.
Wazika Stubin is at Argyle Pechotanica and Barnabelle at Solzberg.
In division four, it will be mineral point at Albany Monticello and Darlington at Deerfield.
In division three, Plackville will be at Langcaster, and also Verokua will be at Aquinas,
and Wisconsin Bells will be hosting Boston. In division two, it will be lacrosse central
hosting on Alaska, and a game that was supposed to be played last night and got postponed till this
evening. In voice basketball, in a regular season game that's still going to be played,
it's Ithaca at Brookwood. That game should start at around seven, fifteen this evening.
The Wisconsin Badgers, they were on the road at Washington to take on the Huskies, and the
Badgers came out victorious. That was a game that was heard earlier on WRC E107.7 and AM 1450,
and the Badgers came out on top 90 to 73. The Badgers will play next on Wednesday at Wisconsin.
Also in men's basketball tonight, today Penn State beat Iowa 71 to 69, North
Western defeated Oregon 63 to 62, and Minnesota beat UCLA by score 78 to 73.
