I am Phil Ney for WRCO Sports. The Lady Chieftains hit the road to Orfordville last night to take on
Parkview in a 7th seed versus 10 regional matchup. In addition, senior Macy McKay went into the game
sitting on 999 points, 799 career rebounds. 11 seconds into the game, those milestones were reached
as Macy grabbed an offensive rebound, was fouled and knocked in both free throws to take a two-nothing
lead. The Lady Chieftains handled Parkview's pressure and pushed their lead to 10 before foul
trouble, and a late first half run by Parkview led to a 25-24 Riverdale lead at half time.
Parkview grabbed a three-point lead early in the second half, but back-to-back three-point plays
by Junior Bailey Harris sparked the Chieftains to go on a run, and they never looked back,
leading by as many as 18 points before ending the game with a 63-48 road victory.
The Lady Chieftains will now hit the road to take on number two seed Scholesberg on Friday night.
Riverdale was led by Macy McKay's 23 points, fellow senior Lily Barr stepped up huge, scoring
9 to the second half at 11 for the game. Bailey Harris with the 11, well-fellow junior
Josie Adams scored 6, senior Ali Goplin also had 6 points, while Caitlin Meece added 4,
Hayley Schneider 3, and Ava Crosonberg finished with 2 points to round out the scoring.
Elsewhere last night, Scholesberg a winner against Judah 62-18. Royal over North Crawford 51-17,
Alma Peppin, B. E. Weston 46-34. Highland a winner against Boschabell 49-32,
Wasika Stuban got the win against Southwestern 53-31. River Ridge over Seneca 43-27,
Barnabelle 67, Black Hawk 27, Cashton 46, Kickapoo 30, Blair Taylor over LaFarge,
Youth Initiative 48-6. DeSoto was a winner 70-27 over Oneiwak Center,
Cochran Fountain City 64-46, over New Lisbon. It was Brookwood 61, Hillsboro 37,
Belmont Meet Potosi Castville 58-46, and Argyle Peccatonica over Benton 76-29.
Indivision 4, Melrose Mendoro over Montello 65-29, Prairie Dushin 62-31 over Iowa Grant.
It was Partyville a middle-of-point with first round buys, point at 74-34 over Wisconsin Heights,
and Belleville beat Clinton 57-37. Nakusa 37, Nasita 34.
Division 3 games last night, River Valley girls team passed the first test of the tournament
with a 68-39 win over visiting Bigfoot High School. The Black Hawks never trailed and built a
big lead in the first half, fought off Arale by the Chiefs, and led 41-22 at halftime.
River Valley continued to build a lead, they would not give up on the way to improving 216-9.
Bigfoot saw its season end at 11-13 with the loss. Brooklyn Stokescourt 18 of a game
high 20 points in the first half, Brooklyn White had 12 over 18 in the first half,
Ella Myers had 8 points, Bella Davini scored 7, Elizabeth Gastamsky 5, Heidi Heglund scored 4,
Gina Klein, Hannah Birchfield, and Ella Hillbrand all had 2 points. The team made 2-3
pointers and shot 6-4-11 from the line. The Chiefs were allowed by Kate Hummel, who made 5-3
pointers and ended with 15, Leopoldson added 12, Bigfoot made 8-3 pointers and shot 5-4-10 from
the line. With a 68-39 win, River Valley will now advance to the regional semi-final in Friday
night, that will be at Edgerton, a team that had a first round by. Also the season came to an end
for the Richland Center Girls Basketball team, 64-24 Westfield scored the win. Westfield will be
taking on Boston to the next round. New Glarris over Dodgeville 47-35, Plattville at a first
round by Asden Landcaster, Evansville over Delevendarian 66-53. Amherst over Westby, 30-23, West
Salem beat Wattoma 103-18. Turner over Whitewater 64-18, and Lodi won an overtime over Adams
friendship 64-57, Baroque, Cuba City, and the Dells all had first round buys.
In Division 2, Stoughton over Readsburg 53-48, Barobu got the win against Monroe 68-16,
and Sparta over Toma 74-47. Milton, Edgewood, and LaCrosse Central all had first round buys.
There were a few boys, games played last night, including Boston over Adams friendship 70-53,
Lodi 82, Wisconsin Dells 59, Black River Falls beat Verokwa 96-65, and it was Ithaca over Weston,
82-33. Leading scores for Ithaca, Caden Keller with 21, Ethan Berkram added 13. For Weston,
Isaac Jennings had 12, Trevor Westball 9. In the action last night, in a makeup boys basketball
game. Church League volleyball tournament continued this week. On Monday night,
Grace Community got by Hidden Valley Community 2 games to 1. Church of the Nazarene 2,
Down to Vocal Bible Church 1. 2 games to 1. St. Mary's defeated 5 points Lutheran,
2 games to 1, and Richland Neptis Temple 1. Beat free Methodist 1. 2 games to 1.
On Tuesday, Richland Neptis Temple 4 accepted a forfeit from Free Methodist 2. Lighthouse
Chapel swept Richland Neptis Temple 2. 2 games to none. St. Mary's down Richland Neptis Temple 1.
2 games to 1. Bilo Wesley and Blank Santa Maria 2 games to none. And Church of the Nazarene 2
shut out Grace Community 2. 2 games to none. The tournament continues next week on Monday and
Tuesday. Marquette grabbed the lead in Georgetown with about six minutes left in the first half
and never trailed again. The Golden Eagles took the big East Conference Road game, 76-60 last night.
Freshman Nigel James Jr scored 20 points to go with 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Adrian Stevens scored 11 of his 16 of the second half. Marquette has a record of 10 and 18,
5 and 12 in conference play with a home game against a Paul coming up on Sunday.
Also in college basketball last night, number three Michigan over Minnesota, 77, 67.
The box broke a close game open in the closing minutes when Kevin Porter Jr.
hit a three pointer and was fouled. The free throw game Milwaukee a two point edge on the
way to Tuesday nights, 128, 117 win over Miami. Porter pumped in a season I 32 points,
getting 21 point help from Ryan Rollins and Bobby Portis. Coach Doc Rivers talked about Kevin
Porter Jr's efforts. He knows when to attack now, you know, we always say he knows when to go

inside linebacker. I'm throughout the offense. I mean, to me, it's not about positionally. It's
more about our entire football team because how we're going to play. We have a new defensive
coordinator. There's so many things that are undetermined right now. But to me, if you get enough
well-rounded football players that can compete at any level, the better you're going to be.
