I'm Phil Ne with WRCO Sports. Right out of the gate, let's talk about an upcoming event for girls wrestlers tonight.

The area WIA Girls Wrestling section, that will be held later today at Mineral Point, has 34 different wrestling programs aimed to have their girls reached.
Next weekend's state wrestling tournament in Madison.
The top two wrestlers in each of the 12 way classes will qualify for the state meet.
Of the teams represented at today's Girls Wrestling sectional, Mineral Point has the most individual qualifiers with eight.
Oregon High School is next with seven girls wrestling today.
While Richland Center, Lancaster, and Broad Hattuda, each have six sectional qualifiers.
Kick-a-pool-afired youth initiative and Prairie Dishine both have four girls wrestling today in hopes of making the state meet.
And the River Valley Black Hawks are one of four teams that has three girls still in the running for births at state.
There are three girls that have hopes of becoming four-time state qualifiers, Olivia Ball of Lancaster, three-time state place winner,
Kylie Klum of Westbyth, and Delia Collins of Mineral Point who placed third at state as a freshman and was state runner up each of the past two years.
In addition, Monroe's Alphea Eckdall is a two-time state place winner.
Here are the girls from our immediate listening area wrestling at the sectional at Mineral Point today needing just three wins to reach the state tournament next week.
Richland Center is led by Seniors Madeline Muller, the returning state qualifier by Seniors Kaley Spilde, Abigail Williams, and Valerie Fawper, and by Juniors Mariah Obday and Annabelle Shlom.
Kikaputafard Youth Initiative has four at the sectional today, Senior Riley Greffi, Juniors Maddie Townsend, and Chloe Walter, and sophomore Millie Vaz.
River Valley's trio of sectional qualifiers are sophomore Mackenzie Schulte and freshman Ray Lynn Ragsdale and Ellie Osborne.
Boschabell-Wazika Stuban has sophomore's Ali Jalenik and Peyton Sander at the sectional today.
North Crawford Seneca is represented by returning third place state medalist Adrienne Logue, a senior, and by Juniors Harper Gagas.
Iowa Grant Highland has sophomore Maria Schaefer and freshman Rowan Altman.
Dodgeville's two sectional qualifiers are sophomore's Maya Marklein and Jenna Johnson.
Other area qualifiers include Nellani Rodgers and Cassidy Edkins of the Soto,
Bronte Bethel and Amelia Saltis of Montorra, Barnabelle, Naomi Bermudo and Lily Hackfield of Suck Prairie, Wisconsin Heights,
Alaina Hanson and Ellie Triggestad of Baroquewood, highly clom and Katie Durst of Westby, and the mineral point eight.
Senior Deelia Collins, a three-time state place winner, a returning state qualifier in Junior Emily Heisner,
senior is Brecken, Blackford Heisselberg and Riley Reichling, Junior Haley Yeager,
Suckmore Tatum James, and freshman Abby Finley and Lily in Heisner.
The mineral point girls wrestling sectional is scheduled to begin at four o'clock this afternoon.

Thank you, Bill. Girls Basketball, Ithaca Weston won a game last night against Seneca 47-38.
The Bulldog girls emerged from a close game with free throws in a strong game from junior Kelsey Coleman,
who netted 20. She had three three pointers and was five for six from the free throw line.
JC Maxwell 15, Maley Plymer 10, Faith Dennichka and Emma Hillby each had one point for Ithaca Weston
as they improved to seven and 15, five and seven in the conference.
Seneca was led by Dylan Kemp with 10 and Lily Payne with eight.
The royals fell to nine and 13 and five and seven in the league.
The win by Ithaca Weston avenged a loss at Seneca back on February 2nd.
The 46-38 win for Ithaca Weston was not the team's last game of the regular season.
They have a game scheduled at Brookwood tonight before the team will play at WIA first round
tournament game Tuesday at Elma Peppin. It was the final regular season contest for Seneca.
They will open tournament play at River Ridge.
Also last night Prairie Dushin with the win against Richland Center on the games
of the final line of the regular season in the Southwest Conference 44-33.
The Black Hawks beat the Hornets River Valley 69 Dodgeville 53.
Also last night in area action.
Darlington defeated Riverdale 67 to 39 Riverdale's Macy McKay with 18 points.
The Sheepdons with 10 wins and a fifth place finish in the SWAL.
Fellow senior Ali Goplin hit three second half three pointers and finished with nine.
Bayley Harris scored four from the line.
Senior Lily Barr hit a three pointer along with Jocelyn Adams as well.
Freshman I.J. Mies went two for two from the foul line to round out the scoring.
Senior Macy McKay scored 999 career points and will be looking to join the 1000 point club
with her first basket when the team travels to Parkview for a matchup in the WIA playoffs on
Tuesday night. Southwestern over Boschabell 53-40, Cuba City 68, Phenomore 48,
Platte Village Lancaster for the Southwest Conference Showdown 49-28, the Hillman get the win.
Highland over Belmont 46-28, Kickapu beat North Crawford 67-25,
Wasika Stubin over LaFarge, Youth Initiative 64-32,
Varoque was 73, Arcadia 60, Black River Falls 62-52, Over Westby,
Middlewell Point beat Phenomore 75-22, River Ridge over Potosi Castfield 50-37,
it was Edgewood over Readsburg 77-25.
The Ithaca Boys basketball team won the early game last night at Ithaca against Weston 70-50,
the Bulldogs improved to 6-5 in the league and 11-9 overall. Weston started strong and had
good rebounding leading to points and 19-8. They were ahead, the Bulldogs went on a run and scored
the next 17 points to take a lead they would not give up. Leading the scoring for Ithaca was
Devon Ein with 26 and Cody Burns who made 6-3 pointers and ended with 24. Caden Keller had 7,
Houston, Boland and Ethan Berkram each had 4, Sam Jones, Blake Dre and Dalton Eymeach had 2 points,
the Bulldogs were 8 for 12 from the line. Weston was faced by Isaac Jennings with 16,
Trevor Westfall had a 12 and Eli Jennings scored 10, Jacob Keller had 9, Ross Allball had 3 points
and Gavin Cast scored 1. The Silver Eagles were 6 for 8 from the line. Both teams have
game scheduled tonight following the 70-50 win. Ithaca will travel to Seneca. Weston is now 4
and 13 overall and 1-9 in the league. They have a game at DeSoto this evening. Following the game,
I talked to Devon Ein who this week went over the top score of all time in Ithaca basketball history,
at least for the boys going over Sammy Clary who set the record some months ago and Devon Ein
talked to me following the game last night.
