I am fill me with an update on sports.
The Richland center girls basketball team picked up a win 43-30 over Wisconsin Heights
last night.
The Hornets led 26-20 and half time and continued to hold the lead in the second half with
good defense and good free throw shooting.
L.A.V. Wise led the scoring for Richland center with 12 points.
Ella Clemens added nine.
Kylie Burns had eight, including two three pointers.
Taylor words total five, Eddie board scored four, and Jory Schultz had three.
The team shot 12 for 15 from the line.
It was senior night at RCHS on Tuesday, prior to the varsity game, seniors with the program
were honored, including Taylor words, Jordan Pendleton, Jory Schultz, along with Tatum
Razik, and Sylvia Schmidt.
The vanguards were led in scoring by RJ Kelshire with 14.
They shot two for nine from the line.
Wisconsin Heights won the JV game, 41-28 over the Hornets.
With the 43-30 varsity win, Richland center is now four and 19 for the season.
They will prepare for a final regular season game at Prairie Dushin on Thursday night and
the first game of the WIA Tournament next Tuesday at Westfield.
The vanguards are now three and 20 and will finish the regular season with a home game
Thursday against Marshall.
They will open the tournament at point at next week.

Boys Basketball at Ithaca, the Bulldogs scored a win against Cashton 69-26.
In the game, Devon Eim, a senior with the Bulldogs, broke the school record for career points
for boys basketball set last year by Sammy Clary.
Eim had 16, Houston, Boland, and Cody Burns, each had 12 points, Ethan Berkram with 11,
and Caden Keller with 10.
Southwestern over Riverdale 79-61, Bevan Dennis had 24, Henry Dron and NRG each had 10.
Weston was a winner against Cooley Christian 64-49.
Isaac Jennings had 30, Trevor Westfall 12 points.
It was Darlington over Boschabell 71-45.
Phenomore 59-51 over Iowa Grant, Lancaster beat Wasika Stubin 76-25.

This weekend, WIA Tournament Wrestling continues.
The girls' sectionals will be hosted in our area at Mineral Point High School.
Wians will start at 3, also the coaches' meeting at 3.30 in the first session of wrestling,
scheduled for 4 p.m.
The winners from that night will move on to next weekend's individual state tournament.
All session tickets cost $10, $6 and under $1 when accompanied by an adult.
Also boys' team wrestling will be happening this weekend, Division III teams headed to
Cashton.
Riverdale will be there, along with Bosca Bell and Wazika Stupin.
Also there will be Iowa Grant Highland.
All of those teams will wrestle in the first round that gets underway at 10 o'clock, and
the winners will advance into the championship round, and the team that loses in the championship
round could have a wrestle back for second place in the team tournament that all happens
on Saturday across the state team sectional wrestling.
Waterpuff Women's Bowling from last night, it was Scott King Trucking taking the top
series honors with a 1900 Phoenix Center in 1839, Goblin Insurance, 1732, Scott King Trucking,
654, Phoenix Center, 649, Scott King Trucking, A641, Barb Wood with a 573 series, Charlene

Rhonda Muller picked up a 57 split, Irene Klatt, Stovie with a 27, and Ann McEvick picked
up a 5, 6, 10 in the powder puff, bowling league.
Richland Center Church League volleyball, tournament, continue this week on Monday night,
seal the Wesley and blanked a Voka Bible Church One, two games to none, Santa Maria downed
Grace Community, two games to one.
Richland Dept is Temple 2, got by five points Lutheran, two games to one, and Lighthouse
Chapel swept Richland Dept is Temple 1, two games to none.
On Tuesday night, free Methodist 1 defeated Bethel Lutheran, two games to none, Hidden Valley
Community Top Richland Dept is Temple 5, two games to none, Church of the Nazarene 2,
blanked basketball assembly of God, two games to none, a Voka Bible Church 2, swept
Church of the Nazarene 1, two games to none, and Richland Dept is Temple 3, accepted a
forfeit from free Methodist 2.
The tournament continues next week.
Also in sports from the state scene, after two wins over top 10 teams, the badgers were
shot down on the road last night, they dropped an 86-69 decision at Ohio State.
Braden Carrington came off the bench to score 20 points.
The badgers were able to connect on only 7 of 26-3 point attempts.
Wisconsin tries to bounce back Sunday afternoon when the Iowa Hawkeyes visit the cold center
in Madison.
Number 1 Michigan was winner against Purdue, 91-80, Purdue rated number 7 this week, Iowa
over number 9 Nebraska, 57-52, and number 15 Michigan State over UCLA, 82-59.
Elsewhere in sports, Packer Special Teams coach Rich Musasia has left his position with
the team.
The coach Matt LaFour made the official announcement yesterday.
Musasia also served as assistant head coach.
He had been on the staff in Green Bay since 2022.
LaFoura called Musasia a tremendous resource to the entire coaching staff and me.
Packer's GM Brian Gundagun's expressed his interest in keeping Musasia.
Rich brings to this our culture, this football team.
He's very impactful coach around here, you know, certainly, you know, I thought we've
been better on teams the last few years when we've been in a long time, our cover units
have been better.
We got one of the best punters in the national football, they're going to excellent
snapper.
Now I got a lot of faith in Rich and his staff.
Not only the X's and O's and what they bring to the field, but what they bring to this
place culturally is really important.
The Brewers are at spring training camp with the first broadcast of a spring game coming
up on Saturday.
Bryce Sarang talked about his offseason regimen.
Like offensively, just kind of maybe staying behind the ball a little bit better and just
driving the ball back up the middle like I always kind of work on defensively, just,
you know, working on everything that I usually do and then being in the gym and getting
stronger and trying to get bigger.
