On the state of Wisconsin scene, the Badger men's basketball team lost an up-and-down game at

home Sunday afternoon, 73-71. Wisconsin had wiped out a 10-point deficit

against USC in the first half, but then watched a 12-point lead melt away.

The Badgers misfired on 20 of their last 27 shots.

Nick Boyd missed what would have been a game-tying shot in the final seconds,

but he scored a game high 29 points.

The defeat ended Wisconsin's five-game win streak.

Here is Coach Greg Gard.

The numbers from a shooting standpoint tell a lot of the story, but I didn't think that was

the entire thing and you have to be able to overcome rough shooting afternoons.

And I didn't like our start from a defensive standpoint.

And obviously, we caught our way back there.

But you give a team that really feeds off the confidence in specifically

Missouri, you know, given that confidence in the first half.

Well, the Badgers will be in action at home against Minnesota next on Wednesday.

The winter storm sweeping the country has resulted in the box

home game against the Mavericks being postponed.

No makeup date has been announced.

Dallas media reports the Mavericks team plane was stranded on the tarmac

before it could take off.

Three different NBA games were impacted over the weekend by the massive storm.

The other one called off yesterday was Denver at Memphis.

In action that did go on in the NBA, Detroit 139 Sacramento 116,

Golden State over Minnesota 111 85 New Orleans 104 San Antonio 95 Toronto got the win

against Oklahoma City 103 101 Miami 111 Phoenix 102.

The Clippers got the win against Brooklyn 126 to 89.

From the NHL Colorado 41 over Toronto Seattle 4 New Jersey 2 Ottawa 71 over Vegas.

Pittsburgh 3 Vancouver 2 Florida 5 1 over Chicago and an overtime and a

high-meet Calgary 4 3. The Packers have hired former Arizona Cardinals

head coach Jonathan Ganon to become their defensive coordinator.

He takes the place of Jeff Halfley who left for a head coaching position

with the Miami Dolphins NFL.com reports that Ganon takes over a 10

and a defensive unit in Green Bay that dominated until Micah Parsons was lost for the season

to an injury. Yesterday Drake May scored New England's only touchdown on a six-yard keeper

propelling the Patriots to their 12th Super Bowl with a 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos.

Christian Gonzalez intercepted Jared Stidham at the New England 36 with 2-11 remaining

and the Patriots iced their first playoff win in Denver when May ran for seven yards

on third and five from his 41. The Patriots will face the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

In Mike Ravel's very first season as coach, New England became the third team in the Super Bowl

era to win a conference championship with 10 points or less. The Broncos finished one step shy

of fulfilling Sean Peyton's preseason prediction of a trip to Super Bowl 60.

Sam Darnold threw four three touchdowns. The Seahawks' dark side defense came up with a

critical fourth down stop and Seattle advanced to the Super Bowl beating the Rams 31-27

in an electrifying NFC championship game. Led by second year coach Mike McDonald and Darnold,

the Seahawks reached the fourth Super Bowl in franchise history and first in 11 years.

Seattle lost that most recent appearance to New England and the Patriots will again be the

Seahawks opponent in two weeks at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Matthew Stafford

threw four 374 yards and three touchdowns for the Rams, but the Seahawks broke up his pass to the

end zone on fourth and four late in the fourth quarter. Well, the Wisconsin women's hockey team

completed a weekend sweep of Bemidji State by winning Sunday's games six one five different

Badgers scored, including a pair of goals from Kirsten Sims. She had a big weekend that included

a six point game in Saturday's 10-3 victory. Five players from the Badger lineup will now leave

for the 2026 winter games in Italy. Layla Edwards, Caroline Harvey, Ava McNaughton,

Adela Sepapola, and Kirsten Sims should be back in Madison when postseason play starts.

And the Badger men lost over the weekend. Here is coach Mike Hastings.

We're in it for results. And again, it's we thing. So it's not them. We competed, but at the end

of the day, it's not enough. We're in our own building. We've got a very special group that we're

honoring and we're going to have to get better this week and have to do it in a hurry.

The Badger men lost to Penn State three to one on Saturday. That's a look at sports. I am

Filney has a look at tonight's high school sports schedule.

Well, I've coverage from Riverdale tonight, the Riverdale girls are going to be hosting

a makeup game with Highland, and then there is a youth basketball recognition between

games, followed by the Hillsboro Riverdale Boys Basketball game, which will have coverage

of tonight on WRC-OFM 100.9 and WRC-O.com, the Chief Dins are coached by Chris Kenyon.

Our healthy friends have been a lot better, we just have to stay, stay disciplined, make

sure we're closing out on the shooters, make them relocate, make the chop more difficult

for them.

Let's talk about Bevan Dennis, he's had another good year for you, hasn't he?

Yeah, he has, you know, he started off a little bit slow, but he's starting to bring it

on now.

You know, he is 18 points dry, I have a thousand, which as a junior is a pretty great

accomplishment, you know, so hopefully he gets there tonight, should be a bigger crowd

if the girls playing before us, and then also with it being you tonight.

Riverdale Boys, basketball coach Chris Kenyon, I'm Phil Ne for WRC-O Sports.

The Badgers lost an up and down game at home yesterday afternoon by a score of 73-71.

Wisconsin had wiped out a 10-point deficit against USC in the first half, but then watched

a 12-point lead melt away.

The Badgers misfired on 20 of their last 27 shots, Nick Boyd missed what would have been

a game-time shot in the final seconds, but he scored a game-high 29 points.

The defeat ended Wisconsin's 5-game winning streak.

This game is Wednesday at home against Minnesota.

The Packers have hired former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Ganon to become their

defensive coordinator.

He takes the place of Jeff Hathley, who left for a head coaching position with the Miami

Dolphins.

NFL.com reports that Ganon takes over a talented defensive unit in Green Bay that dominated

until Michael Parsons was lost for the season to an injury.

Yannis Antitucupo's potential return date remains uncertain as the Milwaukee Bucks forward

recovers from a calf strain that he had predicted might keep him out for four to six weeks.

The two-time MVP said after the Bucks 102-100 loss to Denver on Friday that an MRI would

determine he had a calf or soleus strain in the right leg.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers confirmed the calf strain diagnosis today, but didn't speculate

on when Antitucupo might return.

Antitucupo previously missed eight games from December 5th through the 26th with a right

calf strain.

And Jet Williams joins the Milwaukee Bucks organization less than a week ago, but he

already has a pretty good read on his new team.

The 5-foot-7-in-fielder outfielder described the Brewers as a bunch of short guys that

are a little bit scrappy, similar to me.

The Brewers acquired Williams and right-handed pitcher Brendan Sprout last week in a trade

that sent two-time all-star Freddie Peralta and Tobias Meyers to the New York Mets.

They joined a Brewers organization that is chasing a fourth straight and an all-central

title.
