Richland Center.

The annual Ithaca Weston Wrestling invitation, though, was held today at Weston High School.

There were ten teams competing, only one unable to make it. That was Richland Center,

which did not send its team. Any of its sports teams on the road today because of poor weather.

Ten teams competed and the tournament was run for the second year in a row by the whole

adversity reserve, which totaled 301 and a half points. Sock Prairie, Wisconsin Heights,

in its first year here, took second place with 213, followed by Verona, 202 points.

Riverdale, on four individual champions, took fourth place with 182.

Ithaca Weston was fifth in its own invitation, a 130 and a half.

Then Oostberg, with 121, Parkview Albany, 72 and a half.

Reinlander, 71, River Ridge, 60 and Blair Taylor, 27.

Individually, the whole adversity reserves had five champions. Riverdale, next with four,

Verona had two and one champion, each from Oostberg, Sock Prairie, Wisconsin Heights,

and Ithaca Weston. Here's how things went for the local teams. First of all, for Ithaca Weston,

that lone champion was junior Blake Bingham at 138 pounds. He had a perfect day and took the

title in his way class at 138 for Ithaca Weston and co-coaches Troy Clarke and Marcus McCauley.

Derek Ranson also reached the finals. He placed second at 144 pounds. He is a senior.

Freshman Braxton Powell was third at 157, taking fourth and other freshmen Spencer Nelson

at 175 pounds. Fifth place for the Bulldogs on Saturday,

Carrick Thompson at 113, Ashton Bennett at 150 pounds while finishing six were both

sophomore Bryce and Brandt and then Otto. We mentioned the Riverdale Chiefs under coach

Marcus Engels with four individual champions. They are at SRAM at 106 pounds, Brody Meese

becomes a repeat champion at 144. Lakota Brewer moves up a step from a year ago when he was

runner up. He takes the title at 150 pounds today and Grand Matthews for the second year in

a row defeats Chris McIntosh of Verona in the finals to win there at 285. Actually, that's

Ethan McIntosh is dead. Chris McIntosh is the athletic director at the University of Wisconsin

with Matthews defeats Ethan McIntosh for the title at 285. Other place winners for the Riverdale

Chiefs taking third was sophomore James Tram at 113 pounds, finishing fifth at trio of

Chiefs, Colton Perrin, a junior at 132, also Wilhelm Buckholtz, a junior at 190 pounds,

and Grant Sturdyven to junior at 120, taking sixth was Preston Wenich, a junior at 144 pounds,

finishing seventh, a pair of Riverdale wrestlers in Manning, Sweet, and also Braden Guitweiver.

Again, repeating on Saturday at the annual Ithic-Awestern Invitational, Richland Setter was not

able to compete on Saturday because of the weather, but those teams that did make it, the

home and varsity reserves takes top spot for the second year at a row. Area teams Riverdale and

Ithic-Awestern take fourth and fifth individually and winning individual titles, Blake Bingham of Ithic-Awestern

and a quartet of Riverdale Chiefs. Why a Tram, Brody Meas, Lakota Brewer, and Grant Matthews.

So reporting for WRCO Sports and David Wormand, I'm Bill Pwyning.

Thanks, Bill. Today, an area girls basketball, all that he might have

settled defeated was Ika Stuben, 61-40. Nick Boyd scored 32 and had nine assists as

Wisconsin beat Rutgers, 96-87 today for its fourth straight win. Boyd was 8-16 from the floor

and 14-15 at the line to finish four points, Shive is career high, set against Providence in November.

John Blackwell added 19 points and Nolan Winter had 18 for the badgers who were now 13-5,

5-2 in the Big Ten and the win streak includes a 91-88 win at then, number two Michigan and a last

second 78-75 road victory over Minnesota in their last game. It was here in Zernel, scoring 21 points

to lead the Scarlet Knights. Elsewhere, in the Big Ten, Bennett Sturt scored 27,

Tavian Banks added a career high 26 and Iowa defeated Indiana 74-57. The Hawkeyes never

trailed and a 14-5 run gave them their first double digit lead. Giants are now hiring John

Harbaud as confirmed as coach. As Harbaud joins the Giants, 11 days after he was fired by the

Baltimore Ravens, he is a Super Bowl champion who guided Baltimore to the playoffs in 12 of his

18 seasons there. And the NFL is honoring the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. by displaying
