I'm Phil Ne, with a look at sports, high school boys, basketball tonight, Waniwak Center

and Richland Center plays at Lancaster, here's Hornets Coach Brian Pulse.
Yeah, Lancaster is a great team.
They're off to a great start.
I think just not unexpected.
I think they've got a great returning group from last year, two players that, you know,
a thousand-point scores if Hermeson hasn't gotten 1,000, he's pretty close.
But Taylor Williams, another senior, they got some depth, they got shooting.
We might have an advantage size-wise for them, but Thursday night will be all about us being
able to play at the speed we want to play at.
I think Lancaster's going to want to get up and down, they're going to want to speed
us up.
So for us to be successful, we're going to have to control that and limit our turnovers
and really play, especially offensively, the pace that we want to play.
Hornet boys at Lancaster tonight, both teams are 2 and 0 to start the conference year.
In Girls Basketball this evening, Darlington will play at Iowa Grant, Mineral Point at
Southwestern in the SWAL, Federal Board of Basketball, Cuba City at Riverdale.
Tonight River Ridge is at Highland.
In the Ridge and Valley, North Crawford at DeSoto, Wozika Stuban is at Seneca, Ithaca,
Weston at Kikapoo.
In the Southwest Conference, Plattville at Prairie Dushin, it's a game for Lancaster
at Dodgeville and River Valley at Richland Center.
I talked to Hornet's head coach Jeremy Kui about his team's experience, getting a
chance to play in Milwaukee at Pfizer for them.
It's definitely a fun time, you know, especially being able to go down there for two years in
a row.
So, you know, a lot of the girls in the program had a chance to step on the court and just
cool experience for the girls to take in and to plan the court and then even travel back
behind in the tunnels in the locker rooms and stuff.
So, a lot of fun didn't have the outcome that we were hoping for, but still have a lot
of fun down there.
At what point in a game like that, do you just kind of forget about the big surroundings
and focus on the game?
I started talking to him about that a week before.
So, now it's one of those where, you know, the rims still tend to hide.
The court's a little bit bigger, so that is a little bit of a challenge at times.
But, you know, at the end of the day, we still got to get the job done, put the ball in
What do you know about River Valley and what looks tough on their scouting report?
Pretty much, I mean, for what I see in it, I know they're going to put some pressure on
us and, you know, try and force us into turnovers, they're going to, you know, take a look
to get some steel and get the ball to court.
So, we just have to be smart with our ball handling and clean with our passes to make
sure that we don't put them in a position or they, you know, they're out there getting
layups all day.
