I am Phil Ney with Look at Sports today, Richland Setter won an on-conference boys basketball
game last night at home.
The Hornets never trailed on the way to a 70-48 win over Wisconsin Heights.
With the win, the Hornets improved to 4 and 5 and they completed a stretch of six games
played since December 19th.
The lead grew to 17 by half time as both Jaden Shep and Liam Fingerts and scored 12 points.
Both players wound up with 20 for the game.
Shep made 6-3 pointers and 2 free throws and Fingerts and made 10-2 point baskets.
Brady Dosh added 13 for Richland Center, Conner Stolls had 5, Deacon Hies 4, Kaizen Swistonberg
added 3, Grayson Clements and Sean Colch, each had 2 and will lie scored 1.
The Hornets were 7 for 13 from the free throw line.
Wisconsin Heights was led by Graham Crow with 14, 11 players gone in the scoring column
for the Vanguard.
They made 3-3 point baskets and shot 17 for 25 from the line.
Richland Center won the JV1 game 65-29 over Wisconsin Heights.
During the 70-48 varsity win, Richland Center will prepare to travel to Lancaster on Thursday.
Both teams have started the Southwest Conference at 2-0.
The Vanguard are 0-8 for the season and they will play tonight at Columbus.
In other boys, basketball, Ithaca with a road victory by 10 at New Lisbon 69-59, it was
Varroque over Hillsboro 56-50, Kikapu's 60-1-1-1 center 36, Iowa Grant Beach, Scholesberg
82-60, Partyville 49, Wisconsin Dells 48.
In girls basketball from last night, Boskebel got the win against Ithaca Weston 72-47.
River Valley with a victory against Wisconsin Heights 56-40, Wasika Stuban with a win against
Riverdale.
That final was 69-40, as the Lady Chieftains fell to 6-5 on the season with the loss.
Wasika jumped out to a 19-point lead and never looked back.
Macy McKaylet all scores for Riverdale with 26 points.
Jocelyn Adams connected on 2 from deep and finished the night with 7 points.
Wasika had a balance attack led by Abbey Wright's 18, fellow senior Macy Mitchell added 13,
including 3-3 pointers, Natalie Wright also scored 13 for Wasika Stuban.
The Lady Chieftains will be in action at home again Thursday evening when they take
on Cuba City and return to SWAL Action.
