I am Phil Ney with a look at sports over the weekend.
Barrow Boo is a winner over Richland Center, 62-41 in a game played at 5 serve forum.
Platville and New Glarris in a beauty that 92-91, New Glarris defeats Platville, Darlington
over Highland 82-36, and then on the girls basketball side of things on Saturday, Barrow
Boo is a winner over Richland Center, 50-16.
Platville's 16, New Glarris 55, Alma Center Lincoln over New Lisbon, 65-49, and a forest
over Sock Prairie, 53-38.
There are some basketball games tonight.
In fact, we'll be on hand at Richland Center High School as the Hornets play host to Wisconsin
Heights.
Pregame time around 7-15 on the radio, followed by the Hornets and the Vanguard's, Ithaca Boys
play at New Lisbon, beginning a busy week with three games, also Verokwad Hillsboro,
Kickapoo at Waniwak Center, Sholesberg at Iowa Grant, and Partyville at Wisconsin Dells.
In girls basketball, Ithaca Weston travels to Boscabel, Wisconsin Heights at River
Valley, Wazika Stuban at Riverdale.
Dodgeville travels to Highland, Royal at North Crawford, New Soto is at Verokwad, Westby
at Cashton, Mineral Point travels to Belmont.
Black Hawk is hosting Garlington, Oregon and Cubicity, and New Glarris travels to Peccatonic
Argyle.
There are plenty of wrestling opportunities for high school boys and girls.
Next up for the Southwest Wisconsin Conference wrestlers, the boys, the Southwest Conference
dual night at Richland Center High School Friday night, JV State Qualifier, and the Saute
Tournament coming up this Saturday for several area teams.
And also from River Valley, their youth wrestlers competed in a dual tournament in Dubuque,
as well, the younger group finished three and three overall.
For more information on their upcoming youth tournament on January 18th, you can reach
out to River Valley, they are currently seeking volunteers for concessions, awards, table
wrestlers, and more for that event.
Elsewhere in sports over the weekend in youth bowling, it was the high series for the
girls, rolled by Jocelyn Adams with a 492, Abby Wiegel had a 357, Jocelyn Adams with
a top game, a 171, Abby Wiegel with a 128, top series, Kate and Keller, 547, Logan
Felton had a 538, an Eastern Nelson of 516, high game honors, Kate and Keller, 208,
Avery Kepler, 205, and Logan Felton, a 194 in youth bowling.
A 16-3 loss in Minnesota, Sunday means the Packers end the season and enter the playoffs
on a four game losing streak, they have not won a game in 34 days, very few starters took
the field against the Vikings, Green Bay's top offensive player may have been punter Daniel
Whalen, who averaged nearly 54 yards on eight kicks.
The Packers took a time out with one second remaining, so Brandon McManus could kick a
fuel goal and avoid a shutout.
Green Bay travels to Chicago to take on the Bears in the first round of the post season

Concerning the game, Christian Watson talked about his team preparing for the playoffs and
having to play on the road.
We understand what we're going to be in, so I mean really just approaching the game
the right way in terms of the mentality throughout the week preparation, making sure
obviously we're locked in on that stuff, I mean obviously that's going to be big, especially
offensively with crowd noise and whatnot, but I mean we've been in hostile environments
before, we've got to find a way to come out with the W.
And Trevon Diggs was able to kind of look at some things on defense yesterday during
the Vikings game.
I did a fill of it, making sure I got all the calls, making sure that it was processing
everything, you know, getting a car, plant fast and you know, flying to the bar just
competing on them.
So he is ready for the upcoming game against the Bears as well, after having been recently
signed from Dallas after he was cut by Dallas elsewhere.
The Bears lost yesterday to the Lions 1916 Chicago still gets a number two seed by virtue

The schedule in girls basketball tonight has Ithaca Weston playing at Boschabell, Wisconsin
Heights at River Valley.
Zika Stuban is at Riverdale, Highland Host Dodgeville, Royal at North Crawford,

The boys basketball schedule is a bit brief as Partyville plays at Wisconsin Dells,
Broadhead at St. Ambrose, Shoesburg at Iowa Grant,
Kikaboo travels to Waniwak Center, Varroqua at Hillsboro, Ithaca at New Lisbon,
and coming up on the radio tonight, Wisconsin Heights at Richland Center.
I talk to coach Brian Poles of Richland Center about tonight's game.
An opponent that we know well, play regularly in the season and we see them in the summer leagues,
so a team we're familiar with.
I think they're going through some change, new coach this year.
They're programs a little light on numbers, and so I think it's a game for us.
The challenge is coming off of what we just went through the holidays with our schedule,
and then a game on Saturday, and then jumping right into it on Monday.
So for us coming out with a focus and an intensity, hopefully we're getting a little bit healthier
as this sickness is lingered for a couple of weeks for us.
So that's what we're looking for, consistency right from the get-go tonight against Heights.
The pregame time begins around 715, and then it's Wisconsin Heights at Richland Center.
Tonight's local sports broadcast on WRCO.
The Green Bay Packers believe their lack of momentum heading into the postseason
shouldn't make much of a difference now that they're in the playoffs.
Green Bay's recent history tells a different story.
The Packers won their last three regular season games two years ago,
and then upset Dallas in the playoffs.
They lost their last two regular season games last year,
and then fell at Philadelphia in the wildcard round.
And then they ended this regular season on a four-game skid,
and now had two Chicago for a wildcard playoff game on Saturday night.
And the game on Saturday night will begin at 7 in the evening,
and you'll be able to hear the broadcast of that game right here on WRCO 100.9 FM,
with the pregame starting at around 5 o'clock.
The Bucks won for the third time in four games they had.
Yannis opted to coupon the lineup after his absence.
The 6-11 veterans scoring machine put up 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
And yesterday is 115-98 win at Sacramento.
Kevin Porter Jr scored 25.
Milwaukee improved its record to 16 and 20,
with the game against the Golden State Warriors coming up on Wednesday.
Peter Fagen is, or Peter Fagen, I should say,
is stepping down as the Milwaukee Bucks president after a 12-season run
overseeing the team's business operations.
Josh Glussing will be taking over for Fagen.
The two will be working together over the next month,
while the transition takes place.
Glussing has been working as the Haslam Sports Group's Chief of Strategy and Development.
Fagen joined the Bucks in 2014 and was in place for the 2018 opening of Pfizer form,
as well as the championship season of 2020 through 21,
while strengthening the team's ties to the Milwaukee community.
