I am Phil Ney with an update on sports.
The Richland Center girls basketball team won a non-conference game at Riverdale 44-26 last
night.
The Hornets went on a 10-nothing run late in the first half and led 18-13 at the break.
The lead continued to grow in the second half as they took advantage of turnovers and
made four three-point baskets for the game.
Elevy Weiss led all scores with 12 points, while Ella Clements total 10, Kylie Burns
had 9, Eddie Bourd 7, also Jury Scholes scored 4, Taylor Words 2.
The Hornets were 15-20 from the free throw line.
Riverdale was led in scoring by Bailey Harris and Jocelyn Adams, each with 5, Abby Tisdale,
Megan Crel, Ali Goplin and Lily Barr all had three points, Hayley Schneider scored 2,
Mallory and Caitlin Mease both had one.
The Chieftains made 3-3 pointers and they went 7 for 21 from the line.
Riverdale won the JV game played earlier over the visiting Hornets.
Richland Center is now 2-6 on the season, after the 44-26 win over Riverdale.
The Chieftains fell to 5-4 with a loss.
They are off until January 2nd, when they play LaFarge.
The Hornets will play at Highland tonight to close out the first stretch of games before
the holiday break.

in Girls Basketball 43-42, Royal over Black River Falls 48-39, Sparta 65 or Oak Was 63,

Galena, Adams Friendship 74, Pitsville 53, Melmont 41-34 over Warren, Deerfield 51,
Schoesberg 36, Edger 10-defeated Barnabelle 53-48, Wisconsin Dells over Lodi 70-18, and Mount
Horab 42-38 over Monomony Falls.
Turning to boys, basketball from last night, River Valley with an exciting win 56-53
and over time over Phenomore.
It was Albany 78, Highland 57, Minerva 0.86 per Reducing 26, Nesita got the win against
Weston 56-25.
It was North Crawford 54, Hillsboro 50.
Kickapoo was a winner against LaFarge 69-25 for the Panthers, Arlen Walter at 24, Malachai
McCauley and Brecken Miller each at 11.
For LaFarge, it was Will Fortune with 9 and Theopar scored 8.
A win last night for Dodgeville over Verrocua 84-27, leading Dodgeville with 15 points, Bryce
Lockard 14-apiece for Jace Halverson and Andrew Hesling.
River Gile 59-50 over Benton.
It was New Glarris 74, Cuba City 58, Schoenberg 78-42 over Black Hawk, Potosi Castville got
the win against Pecatanaca 72-67.
Bangor 81, Melrose, Mendoro 46, Barnavelle edged Belmont 54-52, Wonilock center over Wisconsin
Heights 58-51, and Sparta 75, Wisconsin Rapids 61.

It's going to be three games without practice.
You know, actually even going into Blackville last week, we're limited on our practice time
with the weather again, but we're going to be planned to go out.
We did see Highland over the summer at our end of the year shoot out, where we were
fortunate enough.
We got to win against them in that, and so we're going to plan for them.
They're going to try and apply pressure right up to start, and you know, they get a good
coach over there, and he's going to have those girls working hard, but you know, it's
just up to us to go out and execute and make sure that we come off court with the W.

A pair of 610 forwards, Nolan Winter, and Austin Rap scored 18 points a piece to lead Wisconsin
to an 88-61 win of his central Michigan last night.
The team's leading scorer, John Blackwell, missed the game with an injury.
The badgers sought to the game away with a 25-3 run early in the second half.
Coach Greg Gard was pleased with his team's progress.
A lot of good things, things we've been talking about specifically, taking care of the ball
better and to play the second half only, have two turnovers, and then 25 assists, so 29
on 29 baskets is a sign that when we move the ball, we're hard to guard as probably anybody
in the country isn't when we don't, it would become much easier.
He says their young players seem to be developing.
Guys got to continue to meet the standard that, for example, Nolan said, how he played,
and that's, they know those, especially those younger, big guys, I mean, you're looking
at two freshmen in the sophomore with Balauskas, Garlock, and Rap.
They see what it takes and how you have to play, and we have to continue to help those
guys develop.
The badgers are off before hosting UW-Milwaukee on December 30th.
Illinois was a winner last night, 91-48 over Missouri.
It was Indiana over Sienna, 81-60 as well, in college basketball.
To Eastern Conference Rivals, Milwaukee, and Indiana Square off in NBA play in Game
Bridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis tonight, both teams have been struggling.
The Pacers haven't won since December 8th, and they've absorbed five straight losses.
The Bucks have been on the losing end of five of the last six games, with superstar Yannis
out to the Cumpo missing from the lineup.
Yannis has returned to the team's practices, but no timeline has been issued for his return.
It is unclear when Pacers starting quarterback Jordan Love might return from a concussion,
but backup Malik Willis should be ready to go Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
The status of Ravens starting quarterback Lamar Jackson is not known, and Tyler Huntley
took his place Sunday in the loss to New England.
It's also possible Viking starting quarterback JJ McCarthy will miss the season finale
in Minneapolis January 4th, his replacement is Max Brosmer.
The game last night in Monday night football brought Purdy through a career high five touchdown
passes, and D Winters returned an interception 74 yards for a score, leading the 49ers to
a 48-27 victory at Indianapolis.
Purdy was 25 of 34 for 295 yards with one interception, and Christian McCaffrey had 146
total yards and two scores.
The Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Chargers have qualified for
the AFC playoffs with the Colts lost last night to the 49ers.
The Kansas City Chiefs have announced they will leave their long-time home at Arrowhead
Stadium for a new domed stadium that will be built across the Kansas Missouri State Line
and be ready for the start of 2031 season.
The NFL has suspended Steelers wide receiver, DK Metcalf for two games, following an altercation
with a fan during the team's victory over Detroit.
Metcalf will miss Sunday's game in Cleveland, and the regular season finale against Baltimore.
CBS TV cameras captured the confrontation between Metcalf and a fan during the second quarter
of Pittsburgh's 29-24 win over Detroit.
The fan leaned over the railing and exchanged words with Metcalf before he ended the confrontation
by swinging his right arm in the vicinity of the fan's face.
It's unclear how much contact Metcalf's arm made with the fan.
