I'm Phil Ney with a look at Southwestern Wisconsin sports. River Valley won a girls basketball game
over Ithaca on Monday night 61 47. It was a tale of two halves. The Black Hawks got off to a quick
start against a cold shooting bulldog squad when they jumped to a 33 13 half time lead.
Trailing by 26 at one point in the second half, Ithaca began to come back that got them to within
nine with under four minutes to play. River Valley was able to get back to a more comfortable lead with
key baskets and free throws. The Black Hawks improved to five and two on the season. They were
led by Brooklyn Stokes with 20 points, including two three pointers. Brooklyn White at at 17,
and Ella Meyers total 13. Kalea Blakely scored five. Rosie Spawn had four points and Bella
Davini with two. River Valley was 15 of 24 from the free throw line. Kelsey Coleman led Ithaca
with 15. Well, JC Maxwell totaled 14. Maley Plymer had eight while Brooklyn Dickey and Faith
Tenichka each had five points. The Bulldogs made five three pointers with Coleman making three of
them. The team was 13 for 17 from the line. Following the 61 47 win, River Valley will prepare for
a conference matchup with Lancaster on Thursday. Ithaca is now two and six. They will play
a Ridge and Maley conference game tonight against Wasika Stuban. Elsewhere last night in Girls
Basketball, Barnaville outlasted Lancaster 58 47 on Alaska 55 23 over Hillsboro. Key high
win against the Soto 60 to 51 Lake Mills 51 new glarest 39. Belleville 52 47 over Wapan,
Mount Horob 57, Readsburg 31. In Boys Basketball, Potosi Castville 70 to 39 over Highland,
River Ridge 77, Wasika Stuban 37 to Soto 61 and Key high 58, new glarest 77,
middle point 64, Cubicity over Belleville 71 41 and Lodai beat Wisconsin Heights 79 39.

As cliche as it sounds, I really do believe our conference is one of those that it depends
on who shows up on any given night.
I think our front runners in the conference.
I think flatbills have been pretty dominant for the last few years.

Dodgeville has mouthstanding players and athletes.
I think anybody can beat anybody on a given night and who stays healthy and who comes to play
every game will determine the outcome.

Well, the Packer has got the bad news they feared yesterday.
All-Pro Pass Russia, Micah Parsons,
is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Parsons suffered the non-contact injury,
as he chased Bronco's quarterback, Bonix,
during Sunday's loss in Denver.
He was having what would have been an award-winning season
with 12 and a half sacks,
and more than two dozen quarterback hits.
Green Bay plays without his defensive leader
in the starting lineup for the first time Sunday at Chicago.
The Steelers have taken care of the dolphins,
to stay atop the AFC North.
Aaron Rogers passed for 224 yards,
and two touchdowns in Pittsburgh's 28-15 win on Monday night.
The Steelers won their second straight.

Rogers connected on 23 of 27 passes.

We're going to see it.
So I think the sooner we can expose ourselves to it,

Receiver Devante Adams hasn't been ruled out
for the Los Angeles Rams Showdown at Seattle on Thursday night
despite his hamstring injury.
Coach Sean McFae says the NFC leading Rams
likely will wait until game time to make a final decision
on the availability of the NFL's Touchdown Reception Slater.
The team remains hopeful, Adams can play,
although he won't participate in their walkthroughs
and practice today.
Adams got hurt while running a long route
in the fourth quarter of the Rams 41 to 34 comeback
with win over the Detroit Lions.
And the nicks and the spurs are set to face off
the NBA Cup final.
Both entering was at 18 and 17 record.
Although the game won't affect their records,
it holds significant meaning.
A trophy bragging rights and a substantial financial reward
are at stake.
The NBA Cup rebranded from the in-season tournament
offers $318,560 per player on the winning team.
Both teams are eager to compete with players emphasizing
the importance of winning beyond just records.
The Cup has previously propelled finalists to play off success,
adding extra motivation for the nicks and spurs
in this high stakes game.
