Games going on tonight in Girls Basketball, River Valley will play at Ithaca Weston.
The game will be at Ithaca High School and here is Coach Bailey Miller talking about
where she is seeing improvement.
Oh, I would say the adjustment to the whole co-op situation has been, it's been a lot
of work, but they're doing very well with it, they're working as a team, we're making
growth every day.
There's always room for improvement, but they're showing it a lot.
I asked Bailey who the leaders are for Ithaca Weston.
Definitely our only senior, Brooklyn.
She's a big leader on the team, she's had a lot of experience, she's played for me
before, so I know her very well, she's been a good leader and I would say JC Maxwell,
she's another one she's very outspoken and she knows the game very well, works very
hard and she's a good leader as well.
What about the conference, Bailey, who do you think the team to beat will be in the league
this year going down the stretch in the region Valley?
Oh man, that's a tough one.
There's some really good teams, there's always, seems like DeSoto's doing really, really
well.
They're going to be a tough team to beat.
Wazika's always tough, Kikapu's always tough.
I would say any of those three are going to be the team to beat at some point.

Wrestling action over the weekend, Ithaca Weston was involved in the tournament in LaCrosse
on Saturday, and here's how they finished the Ithaca Weston boys.
We're led by Carrick Thompson, fourth at 120, Blake Bingham was third at 138, Derek
Franzen, second and Bryson Brandt, tenth at 144, Ashton Bennett finished third at 150
pounds.
165, Braxton Fowl was eighth, Deakin McDonough was eighth at 175, Spencer Nelson, fourth
at 190, and Ben Otto took seventh at 215.
As far as the team, St. Croix Central was first, Arcadia finished fourth, Ithaca Weston
was eighth, Brookwood tenth, Wisconsin Delsey eleventh, and River Ridge was 14th.
As weekend River Valley competed at the duels in the delves, and the Wannake Warrior invite,
facing tough competition, and several teams they don't see often, individual podium
finishers in the top five.
For the girls, Mackenzie Schulte was third, Ray Lynn Ragsdale was fifth.
For the boys, Blake Brickle second, Ty Larson fourth, Jameson Ridge was fourth at 150
for the JV, Tyler Cratwell was fourth for JV at 165, and Caleb Gick was fifth at 157.
As a team, River Valley finished 12th out of 24.
Next up for River Valley, Thursday at point net for a quad duels, Saturday at Badger
State for the girls and Richland Center's invite for the boys, RC hosting the annual invite
beginning Saturday morning.
Over the weekend, the Riverdale wrestling team finished fifth out of 24 teams at Wannake,
Lakota Brewer championed 138, Grant Matthews first at 285, second place finished for Brody
Mies at 144, Wyatt Schram third at 106, Hunter Wilkinson sixth place at 120, and Trenton
Rennish ninth at 132 for the Chieftains.
Bowling scores from youth bowling on Saturday, Jocelyn Adams had a 564 series, Abby Wiegel
of 326, Jocelyn had the top game at 211, Abby Wiegel of 128.
Over the boys, Caden Keller, 504 series, James Layton for 80, Logan Felton for 65.
High game honors, Logan Felton of 194, James Layton of 189, and Landon Westfall of 184 in
youth bowling.
The 2025-26 church league volleyball was shortened by winter weather last week.
A Monday night shirt to the Nazarene two swept Grace Community two, two games to none,
Hidden Valley Community defeated Santa Maria two games to one, Richlandept is Temple
team one, got by St. Mary's two games to one, and Richlandept is Temple five, blank
free method is two, two games to none.
The Tuesday schedule matches were canceled, league officials will determine if the games
will be made up, otherwise the schedule resumes tonight with action going on in church
league volleyball.
Over the weekend, some positive sport notes, it is Ulyr River Falls bound for the Division
three football semifinals after a 46-21 win over Wheaton, Illinois.
And the Badger volleyball team took three out of four sets against Texas to make it to
the NCAA final four for the sixth time under coach Kelly Sheffield.
Longhorns had been on a roll, not losing a single set in any of the three rounds of
the 2025 postseason.
Wisconsin was up two sets to none when the home team rallied, pulling off the upset means
the Badgers will meet Kentucky in a semi-final contest Thursday.
Teams in this year's final four also include Pittsburgh and Texas A&M.
The Packers suffered multiple damaging losses in a 34-26 loss at Denver, not only did they
fall out of first place in the NFC North, three important players, Lyman Zach Tom, receiver
Christian Watson, and Micah Parson, their defensive star, suffered significant injuries.
Green Bay led 23-14 after taking the second half kickoff and marching down the field for
a score.
It was all downhill after that.
Bronco's quarterback, Bonix, wound up throwing four touchdown passes in that team's 11th straight
victory.
Following the game, Matt LaFoura talked about the loss.
It's a really good football team.
It was a dog fight for most of the game, and then they kind of ran away with it in the
second half.
But it was also a double whammy for us, just losing some pieces that are critical for our success.
But that's the name of the game, and I told the guys, nobody's going to feel sorry for
us.
We got a rally around one another, and everybody's going to have to elevate their play.
Coach was asked about how the team keeps its dobers up after a big loss.
Well, I think it's easy.
I think we got a connected team, and I know how our guys will respond, and we got a great
test coming up, you know, going to Chicago, a game that went down to the wire last time
we played, and, you know, obviously they rolled today.
So it's to go back on top of the division.
So I know we're going to get their best, and they're going to get our best.
