Today in sports, ULBD River Falls advances in the Division III playoffs.
They were playing at a quarter final today, and the River Falls football team defeated
Wheaton, Illinois, 46-21.
That means River Falls advances to the national semi-final game.
Today in WIAC, basketball, it was Steven's point over Olivet by final of 76-63.
Also it was Hope University over Wisconsin, Plattville, 84-74, a win for Hamlin over
River Falls, 67-56, and O'Clair was a winner against Superior, 68-49, in men's college
basketball.
Elsewhere, today Northwestern over Jackson State, 93-53, and Nebraska continues on its
toward pace with a win over number 13, Illinois, 83-80.
Oster Kluft made all nine of his shots and finished with a season I-22, and Braden Smith
achieved another milestone with 10 more assists to lead number 6 Purdue past Marquette,
49-59.
It took Smith only 12 seconds to find Fletcher lawyer for a three-pointer, making him the
second Division I men's basketball player with 1,500 points, 850 assists and 550 rebounds.
The other is DJ Cooper.
The Boilermakers have won two straights in last weekend's loss by 23 points to then number
10 Iowa State.
Royce Parham finished with 19 points to lead Marquette, which has lost by 20 points each

Also in sport news from the State scene, the Wisconsin Badger volleyball team, back in
the Elite Eight.
The Badgers faced off against number two Stanford Cardinal on Friday afternoon, winning
three sets to one.
Mimi Kohler had one of her best games as a Badger, recording 27 kills on 51 attempts with
just eight errors.
Carter Booth had 14 kills of her own with zero errors.
The Badgers and Cardinal met six times previously in program history with a three-one win.
The Badgers defeated them for the first time and will face the number one-seated Texas
Longhorn's next in the Elite Eight, Texas swept number four Indiana on Friday.
That match will be played in Austin coming up tomorrow.
The Green Bay Packers are unsure about the availability of either of their top two running
backs for tomorrow's game at Denver.
Green Bay added a manual Wilson to its injury report Saturday because of an illness and
labeled him questionable.
Josh Jacobs already had been listed as questionable Friday with a knee issue.
Jacobs didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday.
He did practice on a limited basis Friday.
The NFC North Leading Packers will be seeking their fifth straight victory Sunday when they
visit the AFC West Leading Broncos, Denver as one 10 straight games.
And they're known for their sacking of opposing quarterbacks.

The Indianapolis Colts have promoted 44 year old Philip Rivers to the active roster, making

Indy brought the pro football Hall of Fame semifinalist out of retirement Tuesday when
it signed him to the practice squad.
Rivers practiced all week, but he hasn't taken a stamp since what appeared to be the end
of his career.
Following the 2020 season, rookie Riley Leonard still could make his first career start.
The move to add rivers to the active roster will take him off the Hall of Fame ballot for
the class of 2026.
And a person with knowledge of the agreement says the New Yorkamets have agreed to a two
year deal with veteran infielder Jorge Polanco.
The person spoke to the association at press on condition of remaining anonymous.
Polanco hit 265 with 26 home runs and 78 RBI's this year for the Seattle Marinaries.
