boys basketball game 8428 over visiting Cooley Christian last night.
All 13 players that suited up for the game got into the scoring column for the Hornets
as they improved to one and two on the young season.
Jaden Shepp had 20 points, including four three pointers for Richland Center, Liam Fingerson
totaled 14 and Brady Dosh scored 13.
Other players in the scoring column were Max Woodman with eight points, including two
three pointers.
Will Weiss added seven, Kaizen Schwitzenberg with six, Cutler Palmer had four, Grace
and Clements added three, Abe Bosworth, Sean Colch, Deacon Heise, and Ray Ferguson all
had two points, and Connor Stoll scored one.
The Hornets were five for 13 from the free throw line, and they made seven three pointers.
Cooley Christian was led by Quinton Keeney with eight points, and Jaden Heish scored seven.
The team made one three pointer and shot nine for 19 from the line.
The Eagles fell to 0 and three on the young season.
The Hornets also won the JV1 game on Monday night, and they now prepare for the opening of
the Southwest Conference Friday night at home against River Valley.
Cooley Christian has a game against our guile scheduled for Friday night.

In girls basketball last evening, Phenomore 62, Benton 30, Plattville 62 55 over Darlington,
Pickup who got the win against 1-1 center 6634, River Ridge 61 North Crawford 26, Highland
54, Iowa Grant 34, Galena got the win against Southwestern 50 to 41, and Scholesberg over
Blackhawk 68 to 28.
On tonight's area schedule, Richland Center is slated to host a triangular, here is boys

We've got a try coming up on Tuesday, and that's going to be against Viroqua and Kikapoo.
There are some changes for wrestling for this season that most fans are aware of, but certainly
they've gone away from the regionals, they've got the super-sectionals, and how do you
look at that, what's your feeling in that way?
There's a lot of mixed feelings out there about that, but that's going to be a challenge.
Our super-sectional this year has a lot of really tough teams in there, it's going to be
kind of a meat grinder for a lack of better terms, but try to look at every challenge
and take it on the best that we can, we've got three guys returning sectional qualifiers
from last year in Caden Stibby, Ethan Bindle, and Ethan Bowden-Dine.
We've got a returning state qualifier on the girls side in Maddie Muller, and we've
got some other kids that are coming up and looking to take on that test, and so we're
just going to try to do our best to take that challenge on the best that we can.

For River Valley and first year head coach Shane Legal, they were involved in the Redsburg
duels over the weekend.
River Valley Varsity went two and three with winds over Manona Grove and Greenfield.
Despite giving up a handful of forfeits, the athletes showed up and had some great outings
on JV, Michael Hills, and Jameson Ridge, each picked up a pair of pins and winds, and
also the girls team traveled to Jefferson for River Valley, where they saw great performances.
Mackenzie Schulte was a third place finisher.
Cameron Neve picked up her first win of the year, and Eli Osborne was four and one on
the day.
For River Valley, their next upcoming action is Thursday with a home duel against
Sock Prairie, getting underway at seven o'clock.
It will be Youth Night, all River Valley youth wrestlers eighth grade and below.
He's arrived by 630 and a busy weekend with wrestlers competing Friday in Wisconsin
Deles and Saturday in Wanaki as well.

In other state sports, it was a great outing for the brewers this last year, and they continue
to impress major league baseball officials.
They were named the major league baseball organization of the year for 2025.
