Landcaster and Richland Center did battle in girls SWC conference
basketball last night and Phil Lee was there. The Landcaster girls basketball team
opened up the Southwest Wisconsin Conference with an 85-31 win over the
host Richland Center Hornets. The arrows used a pressure defense to force
turnovers and turned many of those into points as they opened up a 42-16
half-time lead. A freshman Lexi Olmsted let all scores with 24 points including
two three pointers. The arrows had four players finish and double figures and
two others ended with nine points. Kylie Olmsted added 12, Addison Morgan
11 including two three pointers and Maddie Burr with 10, Maddie Driscoll and
Katie Murphy each had nine. Landcaster was eight for 18 from the line and they
totaled seven three pointers. Richland Center Junior, L.A. Vice had 16,
Addie Board and Ella Clements, each scored five points. Ava Martin with four
Kylie Burns added three and Taylor words scored two. The Hornets were two
four nine from the line. Addie Board made the team's only three point basket.
Landcaster won the JV1 game at RCHS Friday night, 31-13 over the Hornets. With
the 85-31 varsity win, Landcaster is now 5-0 and 1-0 in the Southwest
Conference. They will play a non-conference game on Tuesday at Cassville
against Potosi Castville. Richland Center's record is now 1-3 after they drop
the conference opener. The Hornets will play a non-conference game at Riverdale

Lady Cheafkins improved to four and two on the season with a 48-37 win over
Southwestern. Southwestern jumped out to an early lead but a late three pointer
by junior Hailey Schneider, Mudgeway four point Riverdale lead that they never
gave up. Riverdale crews to the 48-37 victory and as mentioned improved to
four and two overall and one-on-one in conference play. The Lady Cheafkins
were led by senior Macy McCase 18, fellow senior Captain Ali Goplin hit two big
three-pointers in the second half and finished with six. Hailey Schneider and
Bailey Harris also scored six points a piece. Junior Josie Adam scored four
senior Lily Barr and fellow senior Mallory Meece each knocked down a three-pointer.
Southmore Kate Mee scored two to round out the scoring. Riverdale will host two
home games next week starting with Richland Center on Tuesday and Iowa Grant
on Thursday. Another girls basketball finals from last night LaFarge up ended
Ithaca Weston 48-26. River Valley pulled out the win against Perry
D'Shean 54-26. I will grant a 61-52 win over Boscabel.

Highland in battle and it was Highland with the victory 63-37.
