The original center girls basketball team won for the first time this season as they
logged a 56-32 win against visiting North Crawford last night.
The Hornets continued to build the lead through the night and several players contributed
to the scoring.
Ella Clements at 18, Taylor Wirtz 10, Kylie Burns total 8, Ellevi Weiss and Jory Schultz
each contributed 7 points.
The Hornets will open conference play at home Friday night against Lancaster.
River Valley won 67-47 over Riverdale and Tuesday night girls basketball action.
The Blackwax were up 35-25 at halftime before extending the lead to 20 and maintaining
the advantage the rest of the way.
The chiefs struggled with outside shooting and River Valley protected the inside with
junior Ella Myers providing multiple blocked shots.
Ella Divini had 19 points, Brooklyn Stokes added 13 and Elle Myers 10.
The Blackwax also got scoring from Kalea Blakely with 8, Rosie Spawn had 5, Brooklyn White
and Elizabeth Gostomsky each scored 4 and Heidi Hegglin 2.
River Valley made 5-3 pointers and shot 4 for 12 from the free throw line.
Riverdale fell to 3 and 2 on the young season.
They were led in scoring by Macy McCay who had a game high 24.
Bailey Harris added 8, Haley Schneider, Caitlin Mease both had 4, Millie Schneider and Mallory
Mease both scored 2 and Megan Crawl added 1.
The Chieftains did not make a 3 point basket.
They were 19 for 37 from the free throw line.
The Chieftains won the JV game 40-26 over visiting River Valley.
During the 67-47 win, River Valley is now 3 and 1.
They will open conference play at Prairie Dushin on Friday.
Riverdale will play its second SWAL game of the season when they trek to Southwestern
on Friday night.
In other girls' action, it was new Lisbon edging, Weston, Ithaca at Weston High School
last night 46-45.

with 3-40 to go in regulation. Marquetta's record is 5-4 with a cross-state rivalry game in

The Bucks are in serious need of a victory as they try to recover from eight losses in nine games.
It won't be easy. Next on the schedule tonight is a home game against the Red Hot Detroit
Pistons at Pfizer forum. And Detroit just finished a 13 game winning streak in his 115 of its

half point favorite. The NFL announced Tuesday that the second game Saturday, December 20th at
