I'm Filney with a look at Southwestern Wisconsin sports back to it with a high school schedule after a
light dusting of games over the weekend being the Thanksgiving holiday. They weren't a lot of
contest and of course the snow on Saturday for his postponement of many of them. Games going on
this evening. First of all, in girls hoops, it will be Brookwood playing at Seneca and Westby
at Hillsboro. LaFarge at Royal. New Glarris plays at Iowa Grant. Jeffery Senate Wisconsin Heights.
The Belleville girls go to Cuba City this evening. Also in boys and girls basketball, Belmont will be
at Ithaca this evening. The girls game will get underway at 545 and the boys contest to follow
at around 7 or 730. Other boys games Weston is in action. They'll be playing New Lisbon this evening
at New Lisbon High School. Seneca the spot for Brookwood versus Seneca. In other boys games, Hillsboro
at Westby. That's a boy's girl stubbleheader tonight as well. Boscowell plays at Peccatonica.
It's Iowa Grant at Benton. Sun Prairie East playing at DeForest. Dodgeville is at Highland and
Riverdale back to it this week with a game against Scholesberg. WRC Sports will be very busy this
week again, covering games, including a very busy Tuesday night. We'll have girls basketball tomorrow
night with River Valley and Riverdale. A good area matchup. Later this week Riverdale and Ithaca play
in boys basketball. And we'll have that one coming up on Thursday night as well. Capping off the
week on the broadcast schedule from WRC with the Richland Center girls playing Lancaster coming up
Friday night. The season begins for many high school wrestling teams this weekend weekend as well.
The Richland Center wrestling team will be in action for the first time this weekend. They will be
at the Royal Invitational at Royal High School. There are many teams there scheduled for Saturday
getting underway at 9 a.m. Adams friendship, Almond Bankroft, Amherst Aquinas, assumption,
Blair Taylor, Boschabell, Cashton, Kickaboo LeFarge, Austin, Montelo, New Lisbon, North Crawford,
Pointette, River Ridge, Royal Spencer, West Salem, Westby Area Schools, Westfield Middle School,
and Royal the host as well. Richland Center will be coached this year by Wyatt Seep. And again,
their action gets underway with the matches as early as this week and weekend.
Here's the schedule for Church League volleyball gets underway again this evening. All contest
played at the Richland Center Community Center. It'll be a seven o'clock matchup between
Evoka Bible 2 and Richland Baptist Temple 5. Also tonight at 745, 5 points Lutheran plays
Bethel Lutheran at 830, Richland Baptist Temple 4 against Richland Baptist Temple 3. And then at 915,
Richland Baptist Temple 1 plays Richland Baptist Temple 2. Tuesday on the court at 630,
free Methodist 2 will play Hidden Valley Community, 715, Santa Maria plays Church of the
Nazarene 2. At 8 o'clock tomorrow, St. Mary's against Lighthouse Chapel, 845 Grace Community
plays Evoka Bible Church 1. And then at 930, Buello Wesleyan will play Church of the Nazarene 1,
free Methodist 1, and Boschabell Assembly of God will have the league buys this week.

Badgers fell to the Minnesota Golden Gofers by a 17-7 score. It was a very snowy day. The game
started with both offenses struggling to score as weather proved to be a factor from the beginning.
The temperature at kickoff was 23 degrees and snow fell throughout the contest,
making yards difficult to come by. UW's Ben Barton came up with a block on a 38-yard
field goal attempt from Minnesota to keep the game scoreless. Minnesota opened the scoring
with a 33-yard field goal, giving the Gofers a three-point lead late in the second quarter.
The Badger offense responded in a big way when quarterback Hunter Simmons connected
with Vinnie Anthony II on a 67-yard pass and catch. They put the Badgers on the doorstep
of the end zone. Wisconsin capitalized down the opportunity with a one-yard pass,
and then it was the score cutting the Minnesota lead down to 10-7 at half. But again,
the final score, both offenses dominated the game. Minnesota able to find the end zone in the
second half at a 17-7 final score. Also in state, some Wiat team still doing well in the post-season.
Wisconsin lacrosse a win in the second round of the Division III playoffs with a 9-7 victory
against Hope and Wisconsin-platville beat Elma by a final of 24-7. UW River Falls got a win
58-7 over Chapman in the second round of the playoffs in Division III football.
With an injury knocking to Vante Wyatt out for the rest of the season, the Badger's depth
on defense will be tested, and his air stackhouse is next on the team's depth chart,
but it's possible that another rookie Warren Brinson will get more snaps. Wyatt and
Edge-Rusher Micah Parsons had worked together to stop opponents running games. Green Bay rates
eighth in the NFL for rushing yards allowed. Veteran Carl Brooks will also take some snaps
for the Packers. In football last night, Nick Benino batted away Marcus Mariotta's pass in overtime
due to an eye-washing 10, a winning two-point conversion, and that Enverranco's held on for their
ninth straight victory, a 27-26 thriller over the commanders. After Denver's RJ Harvey ran for a
touchdown on a first possession of overtime, Mariotta drove the commanders down the field,
and connected with Terry McLaren for a touchdown on fourth and goal from the three.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn went for two, and Mariotta had an open receiver, but the pass was
knocked down. The Broncos have eight victories in one-score games this season.
Elsewhere in football yesterday, Carolina, 31-28 over the Rams, Houston, 20, and in the
apolis 16, Jacksonville, beat Tennessee, 25-3, Miami, 21-17 over New Orleans. The Jets 27, Atlanta,
24, San Francisco, 26-28 over Cleveland, Tampa Bay, 20, and Arizona, 17. It was Seattle, 26
nothing over Minnesota, Buffalo 26, Pittsburgh, seven, and the Chargers beat Las Vegas 31-14.
After snapping a losing streak that had reached seven straight, the Bucks will go for back-to-back wins
tonight. The game is in Washington against the Wizards, Yanis Anthony Cumpos scored 29
in Saturday's 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets that gave him 21,000 career NBA points,
a loss to the next-last Friday eliminated Milwaukee from competition for this year's NBA Cup.
Wisconsin said several records while winning the top spot in the Smashville,
women's collegiate hockey showcase in Nashville yesterday. The Badgers rolled Stone Hill,
17-2, 16 goals was the previous record set last year. The 87 shots on goal also set an all-time
program record. Seniors Kristen Sims and Michaela Zilish produced hat tricks. Zilish got all three
goals in the second period. Wisconsin wraps up the first half of the season, Friday and Saturday
