It was a busy, busy night for basketball action last night as boys, basketball teams got
underway with action and a few girls teams were playing and some got into their first
games of the season.
The Richardson Center boys basketball team opened the season at home with a loss to
Austin.
The Golden Eagles took the lead midway through the first half and route to a 58-38 win.
It was a cold outside shooting night for the Hornets.
Austin's strong underclassmen leadership was on display as sophomore Jace Navis at
a game high 21 and freshman Andrew Dillon added 15.
Johann Wolf scored 13 and he and Dillon both made two three pointers.
Austin was 12 for 17 from the free throw line.
Richardson Center was led by senior Brady Dosh who had 14 and junior Jaden Shepp scored
10.
Jaden Swistonberg added five, Connor Stoltz total four, Deacon Highs had a three pointer
and Ray Ferguson had two points.
Richardson Center made three three pointers and went five for eight from the free throw
line.
The Richardson Center JV-1 team had an impressive win 61-31 over Austin in the opener at
Richardson Center High School Field House.
Following the 58-38 varsity loss, Richardson Center will have the holiday weekend off and
will next travel to Verokua next Tuesday for the second non-conference game.
Austin will host Berlin for its home opener on Tuesday.
Elsewhere last night it was Kikapu over Hillsboro 71-42.
Kikapu was paced by Malachai McCauley with 23, Edrick Eggy with 17 and Arlen Walther
had 12 for Hillsboro Miles Ravenscroft and Braun Gershley each had 11.
Royal opened the season with a 49-44 win over the Ithaca boys.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Devon Eim who had 25 and Houston Bowland added 11.
Highland picked up a 55-53 win over Riverdale in a close battle in the opening night of
the season.
Jack Terrell led all scores with 37 for Highland.
Devon Dennis added 17, Henry Drone had 14 and Owen Blankenship total 13 for the Riverdale
boys.
LaFarge was a winner over Brookwood 68-61, Highscores for LaFarge, Braxton Casner and
Theo Parr each had 23, William Words had 20, Jackson Kunets had 17 for Brookwood.
Elsewhere last night, Mount Horib started the season strong with a win over River Valley
70-73 to 45.
Boschabell had a strong night with a 71-49 victory against Schoelsberg, Fedemore 56, River
Ridge 52, Lancaster 77-72 over Barnabelle.
It was a win last night for Water Walk Center over Weston, Final Score 61-59, Isaac Jettings
and Trevor Westfall each had 25 for Weston.
Elsewhere, it was Victory 4, Verokwa over Cashton 46-30, Picatonic a 72-69 over Parkview,
in Boys Basketball and Barrelboo 82-47 over Portage.
Turning to Girls Basketball, Riverdale Lady Chieftains bounced back from a lost Monday,
jumping out to a 34-10 half-time lead against the host North Crawford Trojans and never
looked back, cruising to a 55-39 victory.
Senior Macy McKay led all scores with 25 points.
Fellow Senior Captain Ali Gotlin scored 7, seniors Lily Barr and Megan Kruehl each added
five points for the Chieftains as they improved to 3-1 on the young season.
Riverdale be in action on December 2nd when they host River Valley in Girls Basketball.
Elsewhere last night, Boschabell led early and went on to win by a score of 48-30 against
Richland Center in a game played at Boschabell.
Also Lancaster 54, Darlington 38, mineral 0.59 34 over Dodgeville.
Hillsboro defeated Kikapoo 64-50, the final score in that one.
It was a win for Verokwa over Cashton 52-38, DeSoto 63, Brookwood 54, Luther 62, Bangor 40,
Meribua winner against Portage 75-32, and Sparta over GT in Girls Basketball 87-42.

It was Boschabell Assembly of God defeating Bula Wesley in 2 games to none.
Richland Baptist Temple 1, blanked free Methodist 1, 2-0, and hidden Valley community got the
win over Oka Bible Church 2, 2 games to none.
On Tuesday, St. Mary's down Bethel Lutheran, 2 games to none, 5 points top Richland Baptist
Temple 2, 2 games to 1, Church of the Nazarene 2, blanked free Methodist 2, 2 games to
none, Grace Community got by Church of the Nazarene 1, 2 to nothing, and Richland Baptist
Temple 5, swept Baptist Temple 3, 2 games to none.
It has chapel and Richland Baptist Temple 4 had buys.
