I am Phil Ney with look at Southwestern Wisconsin sports. Southwest Conference All Conference
football selections have been announced. New Glarris and Prairie Dushin tied for the conference
title, going six and one. River Valley football team finishing at five and two. And then
it was Platfield at four and three. Richland center three and four. Dodgeville and Landcaster,
both at two and five and 0 and seven for Broadhead Judah. First team offense at quarterback
Platfield's Brody Digman, also from Landcaster, running back Nolan Hanky and Platfield's Tyler
Sass, Richland center's Brady Dush. Round out the backfield. First team All Conference
wide receivers Taylor Williams, Landcaster, New Glarris's Will Penel and Platfield's
Myron Ryder. The All Conference tied in is River Valley's Caden Plumley. Will Gladfield
C of New Glarris was the first team All Conference lineman along with Gage Castner,
Platville, Jack Simmons Prairie Dushin and a Bosworth, a senior for Richland center along
with Blake Brickle, a senior from River Valley. Second team offense includes Toy Raggeds of
Landcaster and Matt Roth of New Glarris at quarterback, running backs, Dodgeville's Aiden
Durand, New Glarris's Milo Johnson, Darian Jackson of Prairie Dushin. Wide receivers
second team including Jaronne Levin's of Platville, Prairie Dushin's Mason Heard and Jordan
Gogger of River Valley. The All Conference second team tied in, Deacon Shiesbrole of Prairie
Dushin. On the line, Ty Swenson Dodgeville, Landcaster's Brady Lovinger, Platville's
Cam Moore, Prairie Dushin's Stephen Doe Ha and Ethan Bindle from Richland center.
The All Conference defense first team, Dylan Colstead, New Glarris at the defensive line
along with Platville's Cam Moore and Prairie Dushin's Jack Simmons. D.N.'s includes Brent
Wheaton of New Glarris and Lake Burton also of New Glarris. Inside linebackers, Ashland
Wilbauer, New Glarris, Richland center's Brady Dosh, Jaden Gogger, River Valley. Outside

Sidwell, New Glarris, along with Brent Whedon, and Ethan Colstead, make the honorable mention
list, as does Landon Donahoe of Platville and Will Zalinsky, along with Briggs Weigel.
From Prairie to Sheen, Ashland Land to Safety, Zach Ross defensive end, Brock Radloff,
a safety. Richland center, honorable mention players include, Junior quarterback, Jaden
Shump, Junior offensive tackle, Isaac Gald, and Brenton Baker, a senior return specialist.
From River Valley, Quincy Blakely, honorable mention defensive back, Lucas Klein, quarterback,
and Kellen Shoes from the offensive line, all of the River Valley players are seniors
this year. And then the special mention, the special awards offensive lineman of the
year, Jack Simmons, a senior from Prairie to Sheen, defensive lineman of the year, Luke
Burton, a senior from New Glarris, offensive player of the year, Brody Diggman, a junior
from Platville, the defensive player of the year, Brady Dosh, a senior from Richland center,
co-coaches of the year, DJ Shute from New Glarris, and Kevin Campbell of Prairie to Sheen, and
the assistant coach of the year, Travis Zimmerman of New Glarris.
I talked recently with Andy Troxill, head coach of Richland center, about the postseason
awards for the Hornets.
A lot of that is based on your record in the SWC, and so with our record, we were able
to put up 10 kids or 10 nominations, and we were able to walk out of that meeting with
nine kids that got something, some kind of recognition, so that's always cool when you
see that. I know our first team kids, Brady, was a first team running back, Abe Bosworth
was a first team offensive tackle, he got Liam Fingerson, and then Brady again as an
inside linebacker, and at the very end of those meetings, you talk about your offensive
defensive players of the year, your O-Lime, and your D-Lime of the year, and so it was
nice also to have Brady Dosh come out of that meeting as the SWC defensive player of the
year, which is always cool, because the SWC is a very competitive conference year and
year out.
Every year you lose some really good seniors, but this group has been, they've been
good leaders, and hopefully they leave the program in pretty good shape for the future,
right?
They've done a wonderful job, wonderful job, and their impact is going to be very hard
to replace. A lot of these kids have been with us and they were sophomores, and they
feel a big void, we just didn't have numbers at the varsity level, and so they had to grow
up pretty fast, and they didn't have some of those key years of development with their
JV seasons and whatnot, because we had to have them play some varsity ball.
So you form relationships and connections, you get to see these kids grow from sophomores
who the game moves so darn fast for them, to seniors who, you know, they're able to kind
of exert their will, and it's like having a conversation with another coach, you know,
on the field, because they just understand the scheme, they understand what we're trying
to accomplish, and so that's tough, you know, but you know, some of those kids aren't
done playing ball, and they're going to continue on with that, but the legacy that they have
left right with two back-to-back playoff appearances, you know, beaten Lancaster for the
first time in 18 years, you know, and some of those things have now set a tone for
these younger groups that are coming up through our program.

with a 225 youth bowling over the weekend WIA champions were crowned at the state boy
soccer tournament division 1 was won by Madison West, Whitefish Bay 1 division 2, Catholic
Memorial took division 3 and Sturgeon Bay 1 division 4 in overtime over Usberg 2 to 1.
State girls volleyball over the weekend champions were crowned in 5 divisions Hamilton 1 division
1, Sock Prairie was a champion in division 2, Manitouac Luther in 1 division 3, Heritage
Christian was a division 4 champion and the number 1 team in division 5 was a third
seed in the tournament, Rib Lake with a win against Newman Catholic in the finals.
While the absence of tight end Tucker craft will make things tougher for the Packers as
they take on the defending Super Bowl champion Philan Elfee Eagles, the teams meet in Lambo
Field tonight on Monday night football, craft has become quarterback Jordan Love's top
passing target.
He suffered a serious knee injury in the loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Back up tight end Luke Musgrave will try to replace at least some of the production.
Xavier McKinney, the Packers defensive specialist talked about what they have to do against
the Philan Elfee offense.
I think the roster pretty much says it all, they got playmakers at every level, they got
really talented guys and they got guys that have, you know, they have been through that
adversity, they've had their highs, they've had their lows, they've been a team that's
been able to win it all.
So they got a lot of experience, they got a lot of talent, those are the, you know, things
challenging wise that this, you know, can be tough to deal with.

I don't know what the answer is like we practice them, we work on them, I mean, it is what
it is, we are better free throw shooting team in my opinion, some of our key guys are missing
free throws.
I think everybody into the year, I doubt if they will, but I don't know what you want me
to do.
Let's make free throws, you know, the Badgers beat a ranked opponent for the first time

I'm not here to tell you that this is the expectation, you know, to win one game and to expect
that people are fans to rush the field.
I mean, there's a greater expectation, that's why I came here, that's why these guys came
here.
But at times, you know, you've got to know that people have your back, and for me and
for them, I can't say thank you enough, obviously, not just to Chris, but to chance
from Duke and the board and everybody that recognizes and understands that like not
accepting this, but we understand that we got to move forward, but this is how we want
