I'm Phil Ne with a look at Southwestern Wisconsin sports joining us is Travis Wilson from
bound Wisconsin as we preview high school football this weekend. Travis has began in eight
player North Crawford at Gilman. That's gonna be a tough one for North Crawford. They're undefeated.
Gilman's undefeated. Gilman has been ranked number one in our bound Wisconsin eight player coaches
pull much of the season. Real powerhouse program. That's a great history as well. Their head coach
Rob Rosmire been there for 20 plus years and has a state championship or two under his belt back
in 11 player. But, you know, North Crawford definitely got a shot. They're a strong team. I will
say that I think Gilman's played a little better competition. To this point, their conference is
a little bit stronger. But, you know, a great game in eight player. This is actually level three in
eight player, of course, with the expanded playoffs and starting playoffs a week earlier for them.
So we're down to the state quarterfinals and anybody that's got here has obviously earned it
and some outstanding games this weekend, especially in eight player because, again, we're actually
a step farther there than 11 player. Well, Zika, Stuban, Sena, Ken, 11 player football going to
Hilbert tonight. What do you look about that game? That's gonna be an interesting one. You know,
we talked about one Zika being a team that there are only two losses this year were very close games
against very good teams. Now, with Hilbert, they're a team that for many years has kind of taken
advantage of the drop down effect as we like to call it where, you know, they've played some pretty
good sized competition, larger competition, some deep six, deep five teams even throughout the year.
The biggest conference prepares them well for the postseason. So, you know, they get the benefit
of that. So it'll be a tough one for Wazika, especially traveling that far across the state. It's
one of the longer, longer trips on the schedule this weekend. But yeah, we'll see where that one goes.
And the top part of the bracket, Black Hawk Warren and Cashton meeting tonight in Betosi
Castell and Johnson Creek. Are we going to see rematch in the six rivers here next week or not?
That's kind of what I'm anticipating. That's what I'm thinking will happen. Now, with that said,
Black Hawk Warren struggled mightily last week. Now, that was a little different scenario.
They were playing River Ridge, who was a very good team. Team they'd already played once.
A team that had, you know, a few losses in the very tough six rivers conference. So we'll see if
that was just kind of that anomaly of playing a team again. Or maybe that was a little bit of a
sign of some weakness by Black Hawk Warren. And Cashton certainly played better as the season is
going along. A nice shut out win on the road and in level one over Brookwood. So a nice win
for them. But I think I am in most people are are anticipating that six rivers rematch next week
with Black Hawk Warren and Betosi Castell. Moving to division six, Phenomore at Darlington. This
Darlington team seems to be for real, Travis. For real and then some. You talk about most dominant
teams in the state this year in Darlington is right up there with anybody. They already got a win
over Phenomore, who's certainly had a very nice kind of resurgent season. Have the golden eagles.
But what Darlington's been able to do to this point has been awfully impressive. Just loaded
with talent. They're junior quarterback Zeke Zuger-Jubler. Just a dynamic athlete. They've got,
I don't know, still three or four crisp kids out there. So they can they can do some damage for
sure. And again, a team that that they beat already 37 to six earlier in the season.
Bangor representing Ridge and Valley at Mundovi tonight as well. How do you see that one?
Mundovi is one of the best teams in the state. The early loss was a Hail Mary loss to Regis
earlier this year in one of the absolute best games of the entire season. And it's a tough one
for Bangor. A tough draw to get the Buffaloes who again are one loss to seed, but are one of the
three or four best teams in the entire state in division six. With that said, again, a nice
resurgent season a little bit for Bangor as well. They really stepped forward in that scenic
bluffs conference and took control of that league. So a tough one for the Cardinals.
Division five representing six rivers Prairie Dushin and Stratford. Prairie gets a chance to
look at Stratford this week, Travis. Rematch of last year's state semi-final game. I think it was
right between those two teams. I think that was played over at Wisconsin Dells if I remember
correctly last year in the old very different teams. Certainly Prairie Dushin, very different from
last year with the graduation that they had in Stratford three time defending state champions,
but I don't know that they're quite at the same level they have been the last couple of years.
Either way, it's a tough one for Prairie Dushin to go on the road. As we saw with Richland Center
last week, just a tough place to play with arguably the best, you know, one of the best small school
programs in the entire state. And if you looked at it as an upset, but seed wise,
Plattville getting the win last week over Lodi, the Hillman still alive in the tournament.
I was shocked by that one. I'll put it right out there. I did not see that one coming. Lodi
coming out of the capital conference has usually taken care of some of the SWC schools over the years
in the playoffs. I did not see that one coming. Plattville certainly is a team that has the talent
to do some good things, especially offensively, but to go on the road and get that win,
in my opinion, was one of the bigger surprises and certainly in the division and around the state
in level one, but a good credit to the Hillman. Now they get the pleasure of going on the road
to the defending runners-up in division four all the way up to Baldwin Woodville, who's a very
impressive team. They're not quite where they were last year. They had a kid Gavin sell last year
that just did everything for them. He's now at North Dakota State. So he's gone, but still a very
good solid program, but we'll see if Plattville is going to have to score a lot in that one.
There's no doubt about that. I mean, they're going to have to win with 35, 40 points probably to
have a shot if it's a low scoring game, or if they can't get 30 plus on the board, that's certainly
favors Baldwin Woodville. How about your Readsburg beavers tonight at Edgewood? How do you see the game?
Well, hopefully it goes well. We took care of business last week. In fact, our running
back, Will McConowicz, who I've had the pleasure of coaching since their grade plague football,
Grand Prix second-highest yardage total in state history. 498 yards on 30 carries,
seven touchdowns. Just an incredible performance to see in person. Big credit to our offensive line,
of course. And Tidens, including my son, Brett Wilson, who's a senior. Don't want to be done
with that group. Again, have been with them for a long time, and we're looking to continue
something that we can hold up defensively. I think we'll be all right.

Last night in volleyball action, sectional semi-finals. St. Ambrose, into the year for Bartavelle
in four sets. Pecatana K1 in five sets over Southwestern. Also in division five, Highland was a
winner in four sets, getting the victory against visiting DeSoto, and they will play Newman Catholic
coming up on Saturday night at Riverdale schools in the sectional championship. It's
Fenemore advancing after a victory last night over Cashton in four sets. They'll play Blair
Taylor against that will be at Arcadia on Saturday night. And in division three, Marshall advanced
after a three sets sweep over Mineral Point, they will play Luther on Saturday night at Richland
Center High School, getting underway at seven o'clock. Sock Prairie with an advancement now will
play Catholic Memorial at four o'clock on Saturday afternoon at Portage High School. In other
action, soccer action, it was sectional semi-finals yesterday. Madison Country Day co-op with a win
against Lake Mills, five two. They'll play living word Luther in the sectional final tomorrow. That is
Madison. Also, Edward advanced after a one nothing victory against Ford Atkinson. They will play
McFarlane, which defeated Edgerton, also one goal to none yesterday in sectional semi-finals action.
And this weekend, it is the WIAA State Cross Country meet. Eric Mindum, coach of the Richland
Center Ithaca team, is preparing his boys team for a run at state tomorrow. I think we can stack
up really well. The boys have moved up the rankings all year. In fact, they just had a fresh refresh
refresh on it this week and moved up to third in the rankings. So 16 team race, I think a lot of
the other coaches have looked at our team and seen some talent, some things that we thought we're
going to happen this year, and we've done a good job executing. Certainly some stalwarts there
to contend with. Colors been a three time in a row here, state champ, once a division two in our
race and the two previous years down a division. Shorewoods of perennial power, they're always in the
mix, maybe on paper, the team to beat. But we feel like if we bring it, if we have our best race,
we're just going to let things fall where they are and we think we've got a shot.
Richland Center Ithaca coach, Eric Mindum, they'll be running tomorrow at 12.35. We'll have

Golden State Warriors 1 21 10 Ryan Rollins scored a career high 32 points and tacked on 8 assists
in the Thursday action. Janis sat out with a sore left knee. Golden State slice the lead to 106
104 with four minutes to go but Milwaukee went on and 11 to run to ice the game coach Doc
Rivers has been pleased with the leadership of newly acquired Buck Miles Turner. Yeah he's just
a great leader you know and I kind of shared it a little bit but Reggie Miller talking to him
you know because he's around Indiana a lot last year and it's all he talked about he said that's
the tough part is his voice you know and even in the timeout down the stretch everybody was talking
he was like shut up like focused like he is so good and again that's what we're talking about
before the game that the things you don't see that he does well. The box will host Sacramento on
Saturday that Wisconsin men's hockey team opened the weekend border battle with a 5 2 victory
over Minnesota last night Thursday's decisive win keeps the banschers undefeated just coach Mike
Hastings. I liked that we you know found a way to score a power play goal and then I thought our
third period was really good management by our group I thought they played selfless
possessed it when we had an opportunity to extend the lead they did it and you know we bent
a little bit on the 6 on 5 and didn't break I thought 7 really a good job of just managing our
group out there and it's a big win for the teams take tonight off and wrap up the series on Saturday
and getting ready for the weekend in football NFL kicked off the weekend with a Thursday night
game Lamar Jackson threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns showing little rust in his return from
a right hamstring strain and the Ravens row to the Dolphins 28 to 6 Packer defensive captain
Quay Walker set out yesterday's practice as the team prepares for the Carolina Panthers
and Badger volleyball host the top ranked team in the country tonight when Nebraska visits the UW
