I am Phil Ney with a Southwestern Wisconsin look at sports last night in soccer action hurt on WRC
Oh, it was reads Berg over Richland Center to goals to one the beaver scored goals in each half and made them stand up
The first one on a corner kick Ryland Brooks with a corner kick to Logan Schwarzer who used a header to pile it into the net
And it was one nothing at 33 minutes also in the second half
It was again again Ryland Brooks with the assist Jonah Vandazandi with the goal at 61 minutes to make it to nothing
Richland Center answered with an unassisted goal from senior Yovani Serna, but they could not find the net again
And that's how it finished last night. Richland Center will finish up the regular season and then play in the first round of the
WIA playoffs on October 23rd when they traveled to LeCrosse to take on Aquinas
Elsewhere yesterday in soccer action Wisconsinites Barnabelle and Lakeside Lutheran tied scoreless
Sock Prairie for one over one a key Evansville beat the Delves five two and Arcadia over Toma three nothing
Last night's volleyball schedule Riverdale lost a Phenomore in three also in the SWAL
Darlington over Bosca Bell by sweep and Cuba City three nothing over Southwestern
Among the scores from the Ridge and Valley was Eka Stuban three nothing over Weston
Kigapoo three nothing over Kigapoo
It was DeSoto three nothing by sweep over North Crawford
In a quad royal royal three nothing over Hillsboro and the Panthers also with a three-one win against cashton
Verok was swept G-E-T Westby in four over Black River Falls
Middle point three nothing over Iowa Grant in volleyball
And a win last night for Wisconsin Dells over Nakusa three nothing LeCrosse central three one over Sparta
It's week number eight of the high school football schedule and among the games in the area tonight
A big one in the Southwest Wisconsin conference as the River Valley Black Hawks unbeaten so far in the league
plays once beaten in the league new glarris this week
I spoke with River Valley coach Tyler McLean and we talked about this matchup
And to what it means and facing new glarris tonight at home
They've done a pretty good job of keeping some low scores
And you know kind of holding them other teams in check kind of similar to us to where we're you know
Having that right amount of points to keep us in the game and then obviously trying to execute and finish at the end
But again, I mean I like our guys and I like the guys we got on our side
That should be great matchup here on Friday
Richland center looking to make the playoffs with a game against broadhead juda during week number eight
I talked to coach Andy Troxel about tonight's opponent for the Hornets
I wouldn't let the record fool you. I mean they come into the contest oh and seven
You know, but when you watch the film, I mean they're in a lot of ball games in the first half
You know and some of the teams that we have struggled with you know, they they've really kind of taken down to the wire
You know and that first and second quarter and then you know
They just kind of a lot of teams find a way to pull away. So I think depth is gonna be a little bit of an issue for them
Um, but I mean schematically. I mean they're they're very big
You know on their defensive line. You know, they've got some athletes for sure. You know, and they've got some speed
But I think I I like our matchup where they have their strengths. We also have our strength as well
planville plays a dodge bell in the southwest and landcaster at prairie ducine
Tonight in the SWA L southwestern east of buke plays at falton
Ia will granted bosca bell cuba city visits darlington
Bell village philomore and middle will point at benton scales mound

Westby at Luther Wisconsin del's travels to nacusa and black river falls at Varoque

one Ewok Weston at Wisconsin heights highland at de soto
Continuing our Friday football preview here on wrco a look at the six rivers
pechatonica argyle is at patosi cast phil
wasiko senica plays at river ridge and black hawk warren at river dale
Here's river dale coach chef johnson
Okay black hawk is ranked number three the heavy run game they
They run the kind of splitback option, but it's really more dive power
Quarterback. It has like 800 yards and one of the half-backs has another 800 yards
So they're pretty heavy run. You know our defensive coordinator killed johns. You know who he is, right? Yeah
He is really really sharp at
Putting kids where they can be successful
But those mistakes we had in the second quarter. We can't do that against this team bill capitalized
So if we minimize our mistakes, I think we'll we'll be competitive
Well, when you're again clock control is one of the big things isn't it?
Yeah, Dalton Miller our offensive
Coordinator does a tremendous job of that as well. He'll call the place to our strengths
Call the place to the strength of the situation
We have a two-minute running drill
Where if we're ahead, you know, we're gonna run the clock
To our advantage. He does a really good job of that. Riverdale coach Jeff Johnson his team home tonight
Against black hawk warren and in the scenic bluffs. Nesita at royal banger at new Lisbon Hillsborough at cached and any
Ethika and Brookwood here's Ethika co-head coach Kyle Kelly
They're pretty solid. They're in the same position. We are as far as making the playoffs. They are coming off two big wins in a row as well
I think it's going to be a pretty solid matchup for both teams and be an incredibly competitive game
And they played some of the same ones. You did obviously there are conference team. Are there are there similar scores against similar opponents
Yes, and no they beat cached in and then they beat Hillsborough back to back week
But the scores were kind of
Miss matched throughout so that's where it's kind of odd is they don't really make sense
You were a bit more physical. I thought as a team
It was that's something that you were looking forward to maybe you haven't had for a while
That physical hasn't even been last Saturday. Yeah. Yeah, that's probably the most physicals we've played all year long
And that's what we're gonna need this Friday as well that that's definitely the most physical we've played all season
Our weekly football preview begins at 635 tonight with a vatestnic power sports pregame show
And then it's off to River Valley for our game of the week new glarris at River Valley coming up tonight on

Here's Riverdale coach Jeff Johnson talking about scenarios.
Riverdale is not out of the playoff conversation yet.
I win this week would really help us, winning out would almost guarantee us, but if we get
a win in one of the next two, there's a chance.
I don't know how close that chance is, but we're on the bubble.
Cheaton Coates, Jeff Johnson, his team at Pickering Park tonight, and in the scenic Bluffs
Nassita at Royal, Bangor at New Lisbon, Hillsboro travels to Cacheon and Ithaca at Brookwood.
The Bulldogs are figuring that they need a win or two coming up if they're going to
make playoffs.
Here's co-head coach Kyle Kelly.
For what I truly think to give us our best chance, we have to win both.
All on the point system, every time you win, you get more points depending on who you beat.
Like I said, if we get these two going six and three, it's possibility of outside shot
of a home game.
If we drop them both, I don't think we'll make it.
And if we go one and one, I think it'll be a flip of a coin if we do make it.
That's Kyle Kelly of Ithaca.
They're on the road at Brookwood tonight.
Also Lancaster is at Prairie Dushin in the Southwest Conference, Platteville at Dodgeville.
Richland Center is on the road at Broadhead.
Richland Center.
We want to make sure that we take care of business on Friday, and they're looking for a win,
right?
They're on seven.
They want to go start with one right and build from that, and we understand that.
And we do not want to be that team.
That's one in seven for them, so.
Yeah, we'll hopefully take care of business, and then ultimately we'll finish off the regular season
at home against the Prairie team that's having success this year.
But it's a very different Prairie team than last year as well.
And we know that as well.
The Hornets had brought head Judah, and our game of the week tonight features a team
once beaten in the conference, that being the new Glarris, Glarner Knights, and the River Valley Blackwarks
have not been beaten in the conference.
Here is Coach Tyler McLean.
Their offense is very similar to ours.
Defensively do some things very similar to us as well.
You know, we can't get of sort of out of characteristic.
You know, it might be sometimes looking at ourselves in a mirror here in a sense.
But again, it's really who, which team's going to be more disciplined in doing their job consistently out there every single play?
I think our boys have done a very nice job with that each and every week, and they keep embodying that.
Again, I think that's going to be supposed to be super important here on Friday night, especially when maybe these stakes are a little bit higher.
If you start to look at the third of the external factors with it.
But a lot of discipline needs to be played with whichever team that come up on top.
The Vittessing Powersports free game show begins at 6.35 tonight.
And then it's kickoff time at River Valley between the Black Hawks and New Glarris.
I am Filney courtesy of WRCO sports.
In half, blessed a three run homer in the first and the Cubs made it stand up Thursday night for a six to nothing win.
That evens the National League division series against the Brewers at two games a piece and sets up a deciding game in Milwaukee tomorrow.
Habs home run came off vs Ace Freddie Peralta, Milwaukee hitters managed only two singles and a double while being shut out.
Lefty Jose Contana is tentatively started is tentatively scheduled to start.
I should say tomorrow's game pregame will be at 6.30 and you'll be able to hear the broadcast of that game on WRCE 107.7 and AM 14.50.
First pitch will be at 708.
It has been a year since the Badgers last beat a Big Ten opponent at Cam Brandle Stadium.
The Iowa Hawkeyes visit Wisconsin tomorrow.
The last time Bucky beat a conference opponent was the 52 to 6 route a Purdue on October 5th, 2024.
The Badgers haven't won any Big Ten games or home a road since a 23 to 3 decision over Northwestern last October.
Saturday's rivalry showdown is being called must win. Wisconsin needs for more wins to qualify for a bowl game and the remaining schedule makes that doubtful.
And veteran quarterback Joe Flacco will face the Green Bay Packers for the second time this season when he makes his Cincinnati Bangles debut on Sunday.
Flacco was Cleveland starting quarterback when the Browns defeated the Packers 13 to 10 on September 21st.
The Bangles acquired him from the Browns this week. The Packers have won in overtime each of the last two games they played the Bangles.
Their most recent matchup was at Cincinnati in 2021.
And you'll be able to hear that game between the Bangles and the Packers on Sunday right here on WRCE 100.9 FM.
Kickoff will be at around 325 with the pregame starting at 1.
