
It's time to take a look at sports on a Monday morning.
The arena aces lost the Western section home talent game at Verona Sunday, nine, two.
The game was much closer than the final score.
It was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh before Verona erupted for three runs and
added another four runs in the eighth.
James Ray led Verona going three for five with five RBI.
His base is clearing double in the seventh inning gave the Cavaliers the lead for good.
Colby Davis was also three for five, eight in Williams was the winning pitcher after
working seven strong innings and Riley Peterson pitched the final two innings.
The home talent league began in 1929 and arena was one of the inaugural teams.
This was the first time the team made it to a section championship game.
Nate Jennings pitched the first four frames, Elijah Alt worked three innings and Ethan
Wickman finished up from the mound in the eighth inning.
Nate Jennings was two for four with an RBI.
His hit in the fourth, drove in Alt, Trey Schulte doubled and eventually scored on a
block in the fifth inning, which tied the game at two.
Zach Katie had a single as well for the aces with the nine to win Verona advances to
represent the Western section in the home talent baseball final four round robin tournament,
which begins on Sunday.
Here now 13 and one with yesterday's win arena wrapped up the season at nine and five
elsewhere yesterday taking the North Middleton edged ashton three to same score in the east
Monona three sun prairie to in ten innings and in the southeast Ford Atkinson edged
Evansville by a final of four three.
The next games coming up in the round robin Verona will play at Monona on Sunday and
Middleton will be at Ford Atkinson.
To busy week this week, the Church League softball championship will be played on Tuesday night
at seven on the East Diamond.
The mission will take on the Knights of Columbus in the cases win the early game.
The same two teams will play again at eight fifteen.
If the mission wins, they will be the champions.

Well the major bowling league will have the preseason meeting coming up tonight at six
thirty at the Phoenix Center Banquet Hall.
This as always is an important meeting.
They will set up the schedule fees and rules for the twenty five twenty six season.
So plan to attend and bring your teammates and if you have any questions, please contact
six zero eight six zero four two six one eight again, the major bowling league will have
the preseason meeting coming up this evening.
There will be a parent and athlete meeting for any Richland district girls interested in
playing seventh and eighth grade volleyball.
The meeting will be held this coming Thursday night.
August twenty first at five thirty that will be held in the Richland Center high school
East Commons practices get underway this week for high school volleyball and cross country
and soccer teams as well with some of their first outings coming up as early as next
week.
The Brewers long winning streak finally ended in a back and forth game at Cincinnati Sunday
three to two Milwaukee admin victorious in fourteen straight games building an eight game
lead in the National League Central Division.
The game started as a pitchers duel with nobody scoring until the bottom of the seventh
a two run home run by William Contreras gave the Brewers a two one lead.

The Packers came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat Indianapolis 23 19 on Saturday
backup quarterback Sean Clifford ran it in from 11 yards out with a minute and a half
remaining for the winning score.
Then a drive by the Coles came up short at Green Bay's 31 yard line.
The Packers will hold a second joint practice this time with the Seahawks before closing
out the season against them at home on Saturday for the final preseason game.
Head Coach Mattel Flores has the team was better in Saturday's second half.
I thought our guys for the duration of the game they battled and I never thought it was
like a lack of effort in any phase of ball.
Our guys were competing and that's what you really ultimately want to see.
Now there's a lot of things that mentally we got to do a lot better and some of the communication
things that we got to clean up but I loved how our guys competed.
Scotty Sheffler's latest victory came with a flare.
He rallied from the four shot deficit in the BMW championship against Robert McIntyre
clinging to a one shot lead Sheffler chipped in from 82 feet on the 17th hole for a birdie
that all but sealed his fifth victory of the year.
The University of Wisconsin is headed back to the court after five former women's basketball
players filed a lawsuit.
Former Wisconsin women's coach Marissa Mosley, the UW Board of Regents and former women's
basketball administrator Justin Dirty are named.
The five say they were subjected to mental and psychological abuse well on the team.
Mosley cited personal reasons when she resigned in March after combiling a 47 and 75 record.
And fans of the Badger volleyball team got to see the players in action twice over the
weekend. An exhibition match against Big Ten Conference opponent Notre Dame on Sunday
followed by the red and white scrimmage Saturday.
The Badgers prevailed three to one Badger of honor dot com reports transfer and red shirt
sophomore Grace Egan looks like an emerging star for Coach Kelly Sheffield.
She came to Madison from Ohio State.
Another outside hitter Mimi Collier, a transfer from Oregon also played well.
Wisconsin opens the season against Kansas in the opening spike classic tournament August
29 through the 31st.
