Time now to take a look at midweek sports. I'm Adam Hess.
We have a home tell us score to pass along from last night in seven innings,
Verona downed Muscatate 13 to 1. In Church League softball action last night,
Richland Baptist Temple 2 defeated Grace Community 19 to 5.
Sean Cole shed an inside the park homer and David Kramer did some amazing base running.
Boschabell assembly of God edged the KC's 9 to 8,
walking the game off with five runs scored in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Dan McAvick had a home run for the Knights. Church of the Nazarene downed Richland Baptist Temple
1, 9 to 4, Zach Harris had four hits in the win and each Nazarene player had at least one hit on
the night. And three Methodist outdulled St. Mary's 16-14. Adam Burns was four-for-four with a pair
of homers. Joshua Hassel was three-for-four with a double. St. Mary's had plenty of power in the
bats too. Benny Green had a grand slam. Father Koon hit a home run and knocked in four runs.
And Stephanie Sherman added an RBI. The mission had a buy. Church League softball will continue next
to tonight with more regular season games. The Simon Sharks swim team had a good showing
Monday night when they swam at home at the Simon's recreation complex. Boschabell finished in
first place with 384 and a half points. The Sharks were second with 370.5.
Prairie de Sheen was third with 302 and Redsburg fourth place with 181 points.
Veteran leader Grace Fratz and Conor Hyene each swam to three individual first place finishes.
Fratz in the short free butterfly and distance freestyle, Hyene in the backstroke butterfly and
breaststroke. The 8 and under girls and boys and the 9 and 10 girls and boys swept both of the
medley and freestyle relays. The 15-18 girls also won the medley relay. Swimmers who earned first
place finishes include Harper Adler in the backstroke, Leo Chambers in the backstroke,
Emorick Coleman in the butterfly and breaststroke, Morgan Worthington in butterfly, James waterfall
in the butterfly, Caleb waterfall in the distance freestyle, Levi Fretz in the individual medley,
and Clancy Hyene in the individual medley. Rookie, Malia Morales made her debut as a shark.
Weathered permitting, the sharks will travel to Prairie de Sheen today.
It's time for an out-of-turner attention to Quail Run and the Tuesday man's golf league.

Flag Prices Trevon Thielman closest third shot on hole one. Gage Worts closest to the pin on
hole three. Mel Cook longest putt on hole five. Steve Svinsa a closest to the pin on hole seven
award and JJ Clath closest second shot on hole nine. Head football coach Luke Sickle needs a
good win-loss record to establish his Badger football program but that might not be easy.
Pro football focus.com has published its data driven power rankings of all 131 college football
programs. The result no team has a more difficult schedule than the Wisconsin Badgers.
PFF projects Fickle's team to win just five games this season. The Badgers will face four
of the websites top 12 teams and two big 10 conference opponents Ohio State and Oregon are ranked
number one and two Kyle Schwarber went three four three in an all-star game home run swing off
to put the National League ahead four to three and a win following a six six tie in which the
American League rallied from a six run deficit. In baseball's equivalent of soccer's penalty kicks
shoot out the game was decided by having three badgers from each league take three swings each
off coaches. The change was agreed to in 2022 to alleviate the concern of teams running out of
pitchers. Schwarber was named all-star MVP after going over two with a walk in the game.
Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh successfully used the robot umpire to gain a strike offer picture
Derek Scobal in the first inning of last night's all-star game. He changed an OQ pitch to a strike
on San Diego's Mani Machado. Four or five challenges of played umpire Dan Lasongas calls were
successful. That's in the first all-star game using the ABS system which could make its regular
season debut next season. The players association is unsure whether the automated ball strike system
is accurate enough. A decision for the 2026 season likely will be considered by the sports 11-man
competition committee. Major League Baseball honored late Hall of Famer Hank Aaron by recreating his
record breaking 715th career home run through the use of projection mapping and custom pyro
techniques. The lights went down at the ballpark and fans stood holding their cell phone lights
following the 6th inning of last night's all-star game. The scene from April 8th 1974 at Old Atlanta
Fulton County Stadium was projected on the infield and also shown on the video board. Aaron's
widow Billy Aaron was cheered as she stood and waived following the tribute. Major League Baseball
faces a potential lockout in December of 2026. Players and management have long clashed over
salary cap proposals, a format that union had Tony Clark criticizes as harmful to competition
and player salary guarantees. Commissioner Rob Manford argues the cap could address payroll
disparities as Major League Baseball also trials to deal with declining revenue from regional sports
networks. Teams like the Dodgers and Nets have pushed payrolls to record levels highlighting
that disparity. Baseball's collective bargaining agreement expires in December 2026 and past
negotiations have led to nine work stoppages in Baseball's history. The NBA may finally be one
step closer on the long road to expansion. Commissioner Adam Silver said Tuesday that the lead has been
tasked by team owners to study the issue more formally, which would be the first official move
in a long process toward adding more franchises to the league. The decision to take a harder look at
expansion wasn't totally unexpected since the notion of adding clubs has been a talking point
for many years. Cities like Las Vegas and Seattle, the long perceived front runners should the NBA
decide to expand past its current 30 team footprint will surely continue to push to be the
eventual pick. And SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey says the SEC and Big 10 have not agreed on a
college football playoff format beyond this season. Sankey noted frequent discussions with Big 10
Commissioner Tony Patetti but highlighted differing views on playoff allocations. The current 12 team
playoff guarantee spots for the five highest ranked conference champions. Sankey emphasized
collaboration but stated that changes could proceed without unanimous agreement. The CFP contract
allows the SEC and Big 10 to propose and impose changes if aligned. That's a look at sports for
your Wednesday. I'm Adam Hess.
