The home talent baseball league has been around since 1929 and through those years.

Most years playing over the 4th of July holiday this year, no exception.

Games tonight include Middleton at Black Earth and Hollandale at Arena.

WRC Osports will be on hand at Arena tonight.

The aces are managed by Nick Larson.

We got a great group of guys and Saturday was one of those games where we played a team

that was what you call at the bottom of the league, I guess, or I don't think we

came on a little flat footed, but as one of them games were seen like everything our

guys did kind of went their way and took us a while to bounce back.

We got down 8 to 2 in the first inning and we ended up battling back and tying it to

go to extras and we just came up short.

When you look at this weekend then you have the game with Hollandale and Dodgeville.

So again, you could write the ship pretty quickly if you get a couple of wins, could you?

Yeah, we obviously want to win in both, but we're going to go a Thursday's game as the

number one we need to get and try sticking this right there at the top of the league yet.

I know we're going to kind of get ahead of us there and what you'd expect of their

good team, but we're reaching to get back in the win column.

With Arena, home talent baseball manager Nick Larson, Hollandale at Arena can be heard

on WRCO FM 100.9 WRCO.com and the Civic Media app with a pregame time of 615 this evening.

Also in American Legion baseball last night, the Gays Mills Post 308 to 20 Grizzlies, 1918

U team defeated the 19 U stuttered Legion post 315 final score was 9-5 in that Legion

baseball game.

Hard throwing rookie Jacob Mizorowski took his first career loss as the Brewers split

a double header against the Metz Wednesday.

A grand slam by Joey Ortiz provided a 7-2 victory in the first game, but Mizorowski surrendered

a grand slam at a solo shot of the nightcap as Milwaukee lost 7-3.

Freddie Peralta got the pitching win in the opener, South Freelink and Isaac Collins

also homered with Collins going 4-4.

Manager Pat Murphy talked about the team playing against the Metz.

The Metz are too good a team to be down very long.

This is the days you realize how good these guys are, meaning all major league players.

It's so tough to perform at the highest level and be consistent.

But when you're off a little bit, it can be the difference.

And Miz just wasn't in sync.

Murphy talked a little bit more about his rookie pitcher.

He learned his lesson, he's he's ticked about it.

Even some of his sequencing, he's ticked about, he's just really, you know, in a good spot

in that.

Tarnet, why did this happen in on a man like I could have, you know, and it's like he

can see it that there's just a really fine line between being dominant and being just

okay.

Pat Murphy and the Brewers will get back to action tonight trying to win the series.

Your game in New York, Jose Cantana starts this evening's game elsewhere in Interleague

play Detroit 11 2 over Washington, Washington won the night cap 9 4 Boston 5 3 over Cincinnati,

the twins beat Miami 2 to 1 Cincinnati over Boston 8 4 Atlanta 8 3 over the Angels.

The Cubs beat Cleveland 5 4 Houston 5 in Colorado 3, the Dodgers 5 4 over the White Sucks, Clayton

Kershaw has reached an incredible milestone, becoming the 20th pitcher in MLB history to record

3,000 career strikeouts.

Last 90 struck out Vinny Capra of the White Sucks with a slider in the 6th inning.

The 37 year old Dodgers pitcher joins any lead group, including just three other left

handers to achieve this feat.

Fans of Dodger Stadium gave Kershaw a standing ovation as he tipped his cap and acknowledged

his family in the stands.

Notting the win, Kershaw expressed gratitude for his teammates and the moment, calling

it a special achievement in his 18th season.

Elsewhere in the American League, it was Tampa Bay 6 5 over the athletics to round to

11 the Yankees 9 Texas 6 nothing over Baltimore Seattle 3 2 over Kansas City.

In the National League Pittsburgh 5 nothing over St. Louis, it was San Diego 6 4 against

Philadelphia, Philadelphia 1 the night camp 5 1 and San Francisco over Arizona.

That final score was 6 to 5.

In other sport notes this morning, you might go home to Portland or wind up signing with

a golden state Warriors.

There's much speculation on what's next for Guard Damien Lillard after he was cut this

week by the box.

Multiple reports say Lillard is happy about the development that makes him essentially

a free agent who can simply choose where he wants to play when he recovers from an

Achilles' injury.

He lived in Portland for most of his career and he was born in Oakland where the Warriors

play.

Packers CEO Mark Murphy completes his 18 year run of leading the only publicly held NFL

franchise three weeks from tomorrow, Friday, July 25th.

Murphy will be succeeded by Ed Policy during his tenure.

Murphy ran things while the team won a Super Bowl, made its way through two challenging

quarterback transitions and underwent big changes at head coach and general manager, renovations

to Lambo Field and the development of the title town district led to Green Bay hosting

the 2025 NFL draft.

And legendary Wisconsin women's hockey star Brianna Decker is headed for the hockey

Hall of Fame.

Decker will be inducted in Toronto next November.

She becomes the first EW women's hockey player to be honored that way.

She skated for coach Mark Johnson's team from 2009 through 2013 leading the way to a 2011

NCAA national championship as a sophomore.

She is the third leading score in program history with 115 goals.

I am Phil Ney with update on Morning Sports.
