Here's a look at local sports from last night, Richland Center and Kickaboo LeFarge involved
in the Verokua area track meet. For Richland Center, good start with Robert Budden first in the 800,
Ryan Stadler, fourth in the 1600 and second in the 3200, Kiernan Culver, fourth in the 3200,
Grayson Banker, finished fifth in the 1-10 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles.
The fifth place finished for the 4-by-1, that was Trayton Shep, Mason Joleneck, Fletcher Harper
and Kevin Hernandez, second in the 4-by-2, Fletcher Harper, Robert Budden, Mason Joleneck,
and Kevin Hernandez, and a third place finish in the 4-by-4. Grayson Banker, Kevin Hernandez,
Fletcher Harper and Robert Budden ran that for the Hornets in last night's meet at Verokua.
Devin Woodhouse was second in pole vault as well for Richland Center and it was also in the
discus throw, Liam Fingerson winding up in fifth place. The top boys team was West Salem with
113, Kiernan Culver, Farge with a 91 and Verokua, third at 82, Richland Center, fourth with 71 points
for the boys team. Kiernan Culver was led by Adrienne Eggie, a first in the 200,
Arlet Walter, first in the 400, and Landon Turgerson, first in the 3200,
among the highlights last night for the Predators. Also for the girls' meet last night,
it was for Kickable the Farge of a young finishing second in the 100 dash, also Katie Randow
was second in the 200. Jada Znagle was second in the triple jump, among the highlights for
Kickable the Farge. Also in the team scores for girls, Westby was the top team, Bangor second,
West Salem third, Kickable the Farge was fourth, Richland Center was sixth. For the Hornets,
Grace Fretz was fourth in the 800, Pearl Fretz first in the 1600 with a time of 550 and first
in the 3200 with a time of 1250. Also last night for the Richland Center Hornets,
their relay teams involved in the action last night, including a fifth place finish for their
four by eight Grace Fretz, Pearl Fretz, Addy Lawless and Rachel Waterfall. It was Danica Paul's
taking second in the pole vault with a 10 feet even and Solay Ewing was second in the long jump
competition. It was Madeline Huber finishing first and shot with a 36-01 and first in the
discus with a 120-07. Those among the highlights at the Black Hawk eventational hosted by Verokwa.
The Ethika softball team, 112-2 and six innings over visiting Senaka and
Richland Valley Conference game. The Bulldogs pulled away from a close contest with two runs in the
fifth and four in the sixth to win on the 10 run rule. With the victory, Ethika is now 15 and
five for the season, 10 and two in the league. Senaka fell to 7 and 11 and six and six with the
laws. Ariana Lewis was the winning pitcher after striking out 10, giving up five hits and no walks.
She also helped the plate going three for five with a double. Holly King was three for five with a
double and four RBI's. Kelsey Coleman, three for four with four RBI's. JC Maxwell,
Kaley Newkirk and Jaden Bowland all had two hits. For Senaka, Rea Wallen and Grace Vero,
each had two hits. Wallen had two RBI's and a double. Addison Davison was one for three.
Bridget Hall suffered the pitching loss. She struck out two, walked three and gave up 12 hits.
The next game for Ethika following the 12 to win will be a home contest against Weston on
Thursday. Senaka will play North Crawford. The Western girls unleashed a 15 hit attack on their
way to a 13 nothing five inning win over North Crawford. Lexi Rockweiler was four for four with
two triples moving into the lead off position and five RBI's. Valerie Bauer and Vivian Spencer were
both three for three. Carson Waslik had her first multi hit game of the season going two for three
with two RBI's and also according to coach Larry Villier, the team played well. Valerie Bauer got
the win, allowing just three hits. One walk and striking out five and a season low two errors
on the evening elsewhere. Phenomore five, nothing over Iowa Grant. On Alaska, shed out a
prayer read machine, ate nothing. River age seven, Highland one. It was a win for Royal Overbrookwood,
eight four. Wasika, Stuban Edge, Kikapoo for one. Westby nine, Black River Falls four,
Bangor five, one over one Ewok center. DeSoto nine, LaFarge three.
Cashed and took two from New Lisbon, 14, nothing, and 11, nothing. Southwestern seven, nothing
over Darlington. In baseball, a showdown in Ethika last night, one by Senaka. Senaka wins on the
road four two. They scored two runs in the fifth to take the lead and added an insurance run
in the seventh inning. They only had three hits on the night to Ethika's seven. The Bulldogs had
four errors on the evening. Sammy Clary had three hits and Cody Burns with two hits for the Bulldogs.
The winning pitcher was John Gallagher going seven innings for Senaka to get the win.
West Nelson pitched five innings, Kate and Keller with two innings of relief work last night
for the Bulldogs as they suffered their second loss of a year in the conference. Weston
stayed on beaten. Garrett Jennings got the win on the mound throwing six innings, giving up two
hits, two walks and 12 strikeouts. Isaac Jennings came on in relief for the seventh inning,
giving up no hits, no walks and no runs with three strikeouts. Isaac Jennings led at the plate,
two for three with a double in an RBI. Garrett Granger, one for one with one RBI and one run scored.
Brady Westfall had a double, another well pitched game as well for Weston. They'll be at Riverdale
tonight in a nonconference game. Riverdale lost as basketball came from behind eight seven
in a makeup game last night. The two teams will play again this evening. Riverdale coach
Kurt Thompson talked about the way the chieftains have played lately. We're busy this week,
you know, we played at basketball last night. Now we host basketball tonight with Weston at 630
tonight and then we got to go to Fenmer and Friday and then we have a little try, a triangular
on Saturday with Lancaster and Highland. Then Monday we go right back to Highland Tuesday,
we host Minerapoint. So yeah, a lot of games coming up, but I think that's the way you want to do it.
I think sometimes get this point a year, hopefully got nice weather and just want to play games.

Ridge, Dodgeville won nothing over Monroe. It was Royal eight and Brookwood three, cashed in

the Richland Center soccer girls lost to lacrosse Logan to nothing last night. Keeper Lily
Tidrick led the way recording 10 saves. The two goals were scored in a few minutes span late
in the first half games in the area today. Riverdale will be doing battle at home against
basketball and baseball later tonight against Weston. Riverdale softball team will be home against
Wasika Stuban. Today for Richland Center, the Hornets will be at Prairie Dushin in softball
and tonight, adversity baseball 645 at Plattville. There's track and field action at Landcaster for
River Valley this evening. The River Valley softball team will be home against Plattville.
On the state of Wisconsin scene, five Cleveland pitchers shut out the brewers on seven hits last
night. That resulted in a five, nothing lost to start Milwaukee's road trip. The game was
scoreless until the Guardians crossed the plate three times in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Jake Bowers was the only brewer batter with more than one hit. Freddie Peralta gave it four runs
in five and a third innings to take his third loss. Milwaukee will try to weave in the series
behind Quinn prester tonight. Manager Pat Murphy says the team is not playing well.
We're all kind of struggling bad. Some teams would be with our situation. Some teams might be
satisfied being in the hot. We're not playing well. The manager says it's been tough for the crew.
We're not disciplined. We're not as free as we should be. Yeah, we've got a lot of excuses if you
want injuries and all sorts of youth and injuries and blah, blah, blah, blah, but bottom line is we
haven't found that edge. That was a difference maker for us last year or so. Texas was a winner over
Colorado last night. Two one and the angels nine five over San Diego in the American League Detroit
14 Boston two Kansas City seven five over Houston. The Yankees 11 Seattle five in the national
league. St. Louis three two over Philadelphia. Atlanta beat Washington four three the Mets four
Pittsburgh three Cubs five two over Miami Arizona two one over San Francisco in the NBA playoffs
New York one twenty one Boston one thirteen Minnesota one seventeen golden state one ten NHL
Carolina five two over Washington Edmonton three and Vegas nothing and the official 25 NFL
schedule won't come out until Thursday. There was already discussion of a possible Packers bears game
on Christmas day Yahoo sports points out that four teams played in a Saturday double header for
week 16 last season. Then those four teams came back for games on Christmas day. The same situation
