High School Softball: Seneca at Ithaca

WRCO Sports · Mon May 12, 2025

I'm Phil Lee with WRC Osports.

The ethical bulldogs are having a good softball season.

I talked to coach Brad Lewis about how it's been going lately for his team.

We've been playing pretty good.

We just had a long road stretch.

We had nine of our last 11 games were on the road.

We lost a couple to a double header to Las Ico.

We got double dip that night with the tough for the first first game was they beat us

two to one and we played really well and then the second game it kind of started raining

and they took advantage of us there.

We were ahead of them eight or no six to four going into the fourth inning and they put

up ten runs and then kind of lost that one and ever since Las Ico we went on a 11 game

win streak and then we just lost our first one this weekend against Ritland Center in

a very well fought ball game.

Yeah, looked at that and it's too bad you had to play WRC at a double because of their

team to beat.

You trail them by two games.

Those are your two losses, Brad.

It's too bad that it came down to that this year.

Yes, it was.

It was unfortunate.

I thought we I thought we preferred a little better in a double header.

It just I think the weather really took a toll on us and nothing against them.

I mean they played better than we did so but yeah it would be nice to have played them

again.

Well, you play a Seneca team tonight that has few losses but they still have been competitive

in about every game, haven't they?

Yeah, they'll be tough.

They always play us.

They always play us very well no matter what records are.

I mean they last week played Las Ico, lost a Las Ico, 11 nots and on Tuesday and then

turned around and had to play them again on Thursday and it was a two to nothing ball

game.

So yeah, you never know what you're going to get with Seneca but they're young, a little

younger team but they have some athletes on their team.

It's going to be a tough game tonight.

The coach of the other yourself, Paul team Brad Lewis will have coverage of that game

tonight on WRC O FM 100.9 and WRC O dot com.

Over the weekend the Bulldogs took on Hillsboro and they're triangular on Saturday.

I ran a Lewis with five strikeouts giving him 12 hits and also it was Kelsey Coleman

for nothing in the game.

Kyrie Fisher with a no hitter 16 strikeouts and one walk JC Maxwell nearly matched her

with 15 strikeouts walking three and giving up five hits.

Carly Meaton was two for four with an RBI leading the Hornets Kyrie Fisher was one for

three with an RBI and Ebony McCorkle was one for three in that game played in the triangular

The Brewers avoided a sweep of the weekend series in Tampa with a four two wins on the

afternoon.

Kristen Yelich and William Contreras slammed consecutive home runs in the fourth inning

then runs scoring singles in the fifth and eighth providing enough offense for a victory.

Tyler Alexander got the win in relief as the Brewers picked up the win.

It was a long weekend according to manager Pat Murphy.

I mean this environment is tough threatening rain all the time.

The mounds rugged it's just a different environment than they're used to.

So I'm probably played we're in every game and Murphy says the offense came around.

Yelich did a lot today Contreras did a lot today caught three straight games hit a big

homer and yeah it was it was a Yelich two great played appearances in solo base that's

the L.E. that it was the all start and then Reese coming up big force after three punch

coming up big in a big situation with two strikes and two outs.

That's the team we have to be ready for all to takes the mound tonight to start a three

Bucks forward Bobby Portis says he loves Milwaukee loves playing there but that doesn't necessarily

mean he'll be back with the team next season Portis holds an option worth 13.4 million dollars

he would likely do better than that on the open market it is speculated that his return may be tied

to whether Yana South of the Cumpo is still in Milwaukee and free agent tight end Tyler Davis won't

be resigned by the Packers Davis has been with the team for four seasons but SI dot com reports he

will be allowed to leave he's been dealing with a series of disabling injuries in the last two seasons

Davis caught eight passes for 61 yards while playing almost 300 snaps on offense he has been

more active on special teams where he played 578 snaps Davis is an unrestricted free agent I'm
